Coconut Grove Beachfront Cottages

While we didn't stay at the Coconut Grove, we spent 10 nights in Taveuni and had breakfast and dinner probably half the time at Coconut Grove. The grounds are beautiful but nothing compared to the food and the ladies working there. Every single meal was absolutely delicious. If you go for breakfast, ask for the Brad Special (papaya cut in half with peanut butter and granola). I tried to get them to officially add it to their menu! A special shout out to Sarah and Fina!

Easily one of the best boutique properties that we have ever stayed at. Located at the northernmost tip of Tavueni you can see the sunrise from your porch and with just 3 cottages that are all well spaced out and with direct beachfront access, it's like having the beach to yourself at most times. Very romantic and relaxing, they definitely surpassed our expectations. It has been mentioned in several reviews before as well, but what the reviews state is completely accurate as the meals are superlative. We had all our meals at the resort and loved almost everything that was put in front of us. A special shoutout to the Fijian dishes like Rourou and Ika Vakalolo. It was our first time eating Fijian food, and these dishes blew us away. Finally a word on the beautiful staff - Sehra, Biu, Flori, and all the other lovely ladies. Over the course of our stay, they made us feel like family, and while everything else about the resort was amazing, it was definitely the warmth of the staff that made our stay here truly magical. Highly highly recommended. Whenever we do come back to Fiji we will definitely stay here again.

A slice of heaven! We stayed here for 6 nights. We were met by beautiful, friendly staff and were made to feel very welcome. Over the 6 days, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, even making us special teas and drinks for the flu we had! The staff were genuinely caring and such beautiful people. The accommodation is right on the beach. The photos were a true representation of the accommodation. The food at coconut grove was the best food we found on the island. The staff go above and beyond for any dietary requirements and were very accommodating. Very relaxing stay, which I far prefer to busy resorts! Highly recommend!

It is a great place to stay if you want to either lounge on the beach and relax, or have a driver take you to other amazing and beautiful places on the island. The food is great and the staff is friendly. If you like to kayak you can adventure to several islands that are close by. There other restaurants two markets nearby. If you want to experience the feeling of being in a welcoming community with happy people, this is the place.

Some of the staff were very friendly, others were very grumpy. The shower in the Mango bure only had hot water for a minute and 20 seconds. Our family went on a terrible fishing excursion with a guide recommended by the staff. We came back freezing and shaking. We were dropped off 3 hours late due to rough water conditions. The boat was too small for the waters we were in. This caused us to miss the scheduled lunch time. The ladies set our lunch out on the patio and by the time we got there to eat, it was very cold. We asked if 1 of the meals could be microwaved and were unkindly told that we were interrupting their siesta time. The reason we asked for it to be microwaved was because we were freezing to the point where our fingers were starting to turn purple so we just wanted a warm meal. Despite it only taking one minute to microwave the meal we were scolded. Over the next days, we were reminded repeatedly not to disturb them during their siesta time. This 1 minute microwave request was evidently not taken well by them. In general the resort is showing its age. For example, they have some faulty equipment that has been corroded over time by the salt water. We took 3 paddles out with their kayaks and two of them broke on us. The offsite owner (very unpleasant) then tried to charge us $150 for them before ever asking us what had happened. There was no horseplay involved; the equipment was just old. She only didn't charge us because we said we would write a review and post a picture of the paddles to show what we had been charged for. One of them broke right down the center in the middle of the aluminum pole and was obviously old and corroded. The owner tried to claim that the paddles we took out were brand new and this was obviously not true. One of the three paddles we took out was nice and new. Don't expect any more than 50% of the menu to be available at any time. If you stay here be prepared that if something should happen that is out of your control the owner will not take your side or even listen to it. Just read her responses to other guests who have not had good experiences. The location of the resort is nice but it is for sale for a reason! We stayed at 3 separate resorts in Fiji and this is the only one we will not return to. We did enjoy the village visit. It is not fun to leave a bad review but I hope this helps another traveler and we do wish the staff the best and there were some positives. The view was excellent, some of the food was great.

WOW! Coconut Grove was one of the best stays in all of Fiji! Ronna and her staff hospitality went above and beyond. The accommodation and grounds are absolutely stunning and beautiful. The best food we had in all of Taveuni and probably Fiji. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend! Vinaka!

Bula! The people here greet you with song and a lei and a fresh smoothie! Friendliest people ever. Coconut grove is beautiful and very romantic for couples looking to get away for some me time. Very relaxing and beautiful here. Beds are very comfortable. The view is awesome. Outside shower is private and a fun experience. We had access to kayaks, snorkel equipment, anything needed they helped. Arranged a cab driver for the day to the waterfalls. Airport pick up and drop off included. Food is amazing! We didn’t plan to eat every meal here but it was so convenient and so good we did! The butter chicken, fresh fish, French toast with coconut syrup a must try! Highly recommend! Oh there is no air conditioning. We were surprised we were very comfortable at night with the fans on. The room is full of windows and nice cross breeze.

Coconut Grove is a wonderful place to stay with a wonderful staff that goes out of their way to help their guests. I am pleased to recommend this facility. The food is delicious. Enjoy the snorkeling, diving and the hiking!

Beautiful location and staff. The banana Bure is truely something else, simply because of the honeymooners outdoor shower. The view over the ocean is Devine! Hot and cold water too. Fabulous! Girls in the kitchen were amazing cooks. Must try the local fish and the rourou soup is better than anywhere else. Definitely EAT HERE! Small supermarket over the road and a larger one in walking distance for snacks and a bit of a mix with the locals, other restaurants also within reach. Fabulous location
