Premier Inn Gloucester (Barnwood)

I was in Gloucester for the Army v RAF rugby match taking place at Kingshome on the 11th May 2024. The hotel was immaculately clean and all of the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The room was uber clean and very, very comfortable. The breakfast was superb and the hot plate and facilities were immaculate 10 out of 10. I will stay again.

The hotel was clean, the room was comfortable and the staff are absolutely lovely. The room and facilities were exactly what you'd expect and need though the wi-fi was out due to upgrade, and as we needed internet that was a pain. Could have used a warning. The bad part was the breakfast but it depends on your needs - you have to book a time which isn't ideal but it's a small room, so fair enough. Unfortunately it was chaotic, loud, and not very well laid out, so if you're just trying to get to the mugs you can be blocked by people waiting for the toaster, the juice, cereal, or hot food. If you don't mind that then go for it - the staff were PERFECT and the quality of the food was spot on. Fresh, hot, tasty, and immaculately clean. This issue is with the building and the layout - for us the experience was far from relaxing or leisurely and as we'd had a long drive that was the low point. Significant for us, not a problem for someone else. Your mileage may vary.

It was an over night stay between blackpool and Cornwall, it was perfect for that situation, we needed to get our head down and be rested for the rest of our trip with a good breakfast in side of us

If you are in the Gloucester area & need somewhere, this is a great place to stay. Just outside the city, but with great access to surrounding areas, plus with a Superstore nearby for essentials!

everything I needed was there. parking. clean room. wifi. good bed. decent price. pub next door and in the right location. would use it again

We stayed one night on our way to another destination. The lady on reception was very friendly and helpfull with answers to all the questions we asked..there could have been a few more tea and coffees in the room although there are plenty to help yourself to in the reception. We ate at the pub next door and the food was delicious and good value for money. The only thing I think let’s it down is the room could do with a makeover as felt decor very tired.

Lost a star due to building design, as the previous reviewer has mentioned, we had thumping around late in the night from the person above us - it was making me jump it sounded like they were going to come through the ceiling! If I were to return I'd request a top floor room. However, other than this, the hotel was faultless. Friendly staff, good location, clean room, the breakfast was VERY good. We have been to various Premier Inn's and this tops the breakfast of all of them. The chef seems to take real pride in it, you can see him cleaning constantly and checking the food is topped up. Kudos to him, he's doing an excellent job. The pub next door was great for dinner too.

Staff were available and visible when required. Room was spotlessly clean, and spacious. However, noise/sound insulation of walls/floors/ceiling left something to be desired. I could hear a child running/thumping about upstairs until gone 2300. And the same again from 0600 the following morning. Inconsiderate people are a fact of life. It is the hotel management responsibility to make sure building design, etc. adequately mitigates.

What a lovely stay at a bargain rate. Rooms spacious, well ventilated, quiet and beds comfortable. Set up well for a family of 5. Incredibly good receptionist (Rosi) who was extremely helpful and accommodating of our needs and breakfast was outstanding and well cooked by chef (Adam) and well managed. All cleaning and waiting staff (Max and Shaye names I received) super friendly and happy. I don’t know who manages the hotel but we are very impressed with how things are run. I usually leave a hotel feeling tired and slightly disappointed but I left feeling rested and well fed. Bravo!
