The room was a bit small for two people; opening a 28-inch suitcase made it a bit difficult to move around. The hairdryer and toiletries were all Refa. These days, many budget hotels in Japan only offer cleaning services every two or three days, so it was great that this one provided trash disposal and towel changes. The only downside was the independent air conditioning. It might not have been thoroughly cleaned because when we turned on the heating, there was a strange odor. We had to use deodorizing spray and open the window to air it out.

Booked a stay at Tokyu Stay Ikebukuro during the New year weekend. It was located about a 8-10 min walk from Ikebukuro station, which is quite easy to access from the train station. The check in process was very easy and fast. Lobby was also very welcoming with a nice and warm waiting area. Room was pretty standard Tokyo rooms but the plus point it being the washing machine provided in the room. The beds were comfortable but don’t expect a standard queen as it’s slightly smaller. They also provide 2 pillows for each person, which were also better than usual. Only drawback was when I checked in for my second time is I was given an older room which was a tad smaller. Other than that the stay was perfect and one of the better ones in Tokyo.

The room was spotless and well-designed, with convenient amenities like a washing machine and microwave—perfect for longer stays or travelers who need laundry facilities. The location in Ikebukuro is excellent, with easy access to transportation and plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the check-in/check-out process was smooth. Overall, a fantastic experience—I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Tokyo!

The room is small but the location is great, easy access to shopping and food. The beds are comfy and they even provide pajamas which was nice. The room also includes a washing machine with dryer function and microwave!

A nice small hotel, with room laundry in it. Many restaurants are nearby, you can take the amenities you want at the lobby.

I enjoyed my stay at Tokyu Stay Ikebukuro, the location is extremely convenient, just a short walk to the station, with many restaurants and shops nearby. The room was clean, practical, and having a washer-dryer inside the room was a big plus. However, I want to highlight that the hotel is located near a street where some men stand around at night trying to get customers for nearby nightlife establishments. They didn’t disturb me or approach aggressively, but the atmosphere may feel uncomfortable for some travelers, especially late at night. Overall, the hotel itself is great, but it’s good to be aware of the surrounding area when walking back after dark.

5 mins walk from ikebukuro station. Has many nearby eateries and shopping mall. Staffs are polite and friendly.

The room was a bit small, but the location is super convenient. It's really close to the subway station, and the nearest exit even has an escalator, which is great. I really liked it and would definitely stay here again. The lobby staff were very friendly too.

Near to train station and nearby there is limousine shuttle bus to haneda/narita airport. The amenities of this hotel is good, free water bottle, shower cap, facial cleanser, toner, creams etc

A very clean hotel with great amenities. The in-room washing machine and microwave were incredibly convenient. Location-wise, it is not right next to the main station area. It is located near the farthest station exit, so there is a bit of a walk to get to the main lines, but it is still very convenient. Service was mixed: we were refused extra pillows on night one (capped at 4), but a different manager happily provided them the next day after we mentioned that my wife had a stiffed neck due to the very thin pillows provided.

Staff very friendly and polite, the room is clean, however too small for couple to stayed.

Subject: Complaint Regarding Misleading Room Size and Poor Service – Tokyu Stay Ikebukoro Dear Trip.com, I am writing to express my disappointment with a recent hotel stay in Tokyo that I booked through your platform. I reserved a 17 sqm Queen Bed Room for 2 people for 5 nights, but the experience did not meet expectations based on the listing. Upon arrival, it was immediately clear that the room assigned to us was significantly smaller than the advertised 17 sqm. It was not possible to fully open even two medium-sized suitcases at once. We had to rearrange the space by placing one suitcase on the floor and the other by the entrance, and we had to request the hotel staff to remove the chairs because there was no space to use them. The room was located next to the elevator, and even the hotel staff agreed that it appeared smaller than it should be. The next day, we were offered to view another room of the same type, which had a better layout—enough space to open two suitcases and use the table and chairs comfortably. We agreed to move to this room, located on the 11th floor, while our original room was on the 13th floor. However, we also learned that another room on the 13th floor (same type but slightly larger than 17 sqm) was available—for an additional 2,000 yen per night. We declined to pay extra since we had already paid for a 17 sqm room and felt we had not received fair value for the first two nights. I mentioned this to the hotel staff, but they did not offer any form of compensation, upgrade, or apology for the inconvenience. In addition, I was disappointed with the cleaning policy, which was not clearly stated on Trip.com. The hotel did not clean the room during our 5-night stay. They only changed towels and emptied trash bins. I was told that room cleaning is only provided for guests staying 7 nights or more, which is unreasonable and not communicated clearly at the time of booking. I believe that this situation was misleading and did not reflect the quality or value promised in the listing. I hope Trip.com will look into this matter seriously and work with the hotel to improve transparency and customer service.
