Hotel berhampiran South Village Square Shopping Center, Toledo

I originally gave this hotel a 3 out of 5 rating based on my experience. But the response that I got made me change it to a 1 out of 5. I don’t like seeing a response that sounds if the hotel did nothing wrong and that it’s always the guest’s fault. The reply I got made it sound like I don’t know how to work a thermostat. Uhh, yeah I do. The fact that it didn’t work right and you’re acknowledging that I didn’t set it properly doesn’t well with me at all. I never usually stay at Super 8, but I stayed here at the last minute due to a lot of other choices in the area being sold out. I do want to say that Matt was a super nice guy who tried his best. Unfortunately, it didn’t do much good. I have asthma so I need my room to be COLD. I can’t breathe well at all if it’s even remotely warm. The air didn’t work at all in the first room I was given. I went down and told Matt and he gave me another room. The air barely worked in this one. It stayed on for about 5 minutes and hardly came back on again. I was pretty disappointed with that. When I went to check out, the lady that checked me out didn’t apologize or offer me any money off my room for my inconveniences. I also feel like I paid a little too much for the very little I got. $95 could get me a room at a much better quality hotel that offers way more. I will never stay here again based on lack of an apology and no compensation offered. Not a good way to do business.

This is a nice, fairly modern hotel, with a great breakfast buffet. We travel as a family of 7, so always book a suite. We booked our stay 5 months in advance. When we arrived, we were told that their suites needed repairs and that they had tried to call us that day to inform us. We were split up on the same floor but on different hallways. Our room was nice, but didn't have a bathtub. And the pool area did not offer a hot tub even though it was spacious. My biggest complaint was that at check-in, we were promised that we would be charged only what we had already paid. Instead, we were charged for 2 rooms, spending much more than planned for this trip. It's been a month, with no response to my email enquiries.

We stayed at Candlewood Suites for one and a half weeks due to a tragedy that happened to my husband and I. They made us feel very welcome and very well taken care of. Our room was very comfortable. Also very quiet which we greatly appreciated. The family that manages the hotel all work very hard to make it a home away from home for their guests. I would absolutely recommend the Candlewood Suites to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in the Perrysburg/Toledo area!

We stayed here as a last minute stay and it was absolutely miserable. This is a party hotel. We were just looking for a place to sleep for one night. For the amount we paid (over $180) you would think they would have more than one functional elevator, a working pool and hot tub, have clean mattresses, and better control of their guests. There are several ballrooms in this hotel, so again, you have a party hotel. There was a sports group of preteen boys (red shirts that said ‘Rangers’) who were playing hide and seek tag in the hallways, lobby, and elevator until about 11pm. Around the same time, the Jones family reunion got kicked out of their ballroom and brought the party to the room next to ours, with a connecting door. From 11:15pm-1:30am we called and walked down to the front desk a total of 7 times asking for help. The girl at the front desk was left there on a busy Saturday night with no help, no manager, no support. Police had been in the building for drunk patrons several times and she told me she had been trying to reach her manager for help and kept getting sent to voice mail. She offered to move our room, but my argument was that we should bot have had to move in the middle of the night, the loud party guests should move. She told me she could not move them because they were part of a group rate, so if she moved the loud room she would have to move everyone in the group. Not believable. She also said she had gotten several complaints about this room, not just from us. They did not quiet down until 2am. The clerk (Taylor?) told me she would comp my room but did not have the computer authorization to do it, but her manager Chelsea would be in at 7am. When we checked out at 9am, there was still no manager on the property. The new clerk told me that Chelsea would call me to comp my room when she came in (within the hour), but she never called. When we *****ped our bed this morning we noticed there was no mattress cover on the bed, and there was a huge stain on the bed. I also found dirty washcloths and towels on the floor of the closet in the room. If you are looking for a dirty party hotel, this is your spot. If you want a hotel that posts everywhere that your satisfaction is guaranteed but does not stand behind that, this is your spot. If you want a clean and restful place to sleep, go somewhere else.

Great location in the middle of the city. Rooms are large and up-to-date. OUTSTANDING!!

Holiday Inn Express made my stay relaxing and stress free. My room was amazing, comfortable and clean. Nate, the front desk receptionist was very polite, helpful and accommodating to a special request. I traveled from out of town for a family funeral and had two items that needed refrigeration. Nate, was able to place them in the cooler, just overnight. I hope I do not get him in trouble but that just shows how helpful the hotel staff is. Thank you Nate for going above and beyond. I already have reservations, July, for my sister’s wedding shower. Thank you.
