My initial stay in Wuzhen was for a period of recuperation due to health reasons. At that time, being unfamiliar with the options and having previously stayed in guesthouses with colleagues and old classmates, I chose a guesthouse. Later, discovering more choices, I first opted for Di Shang, then changed it to Di Shang plus Jin Tang. Just before my trip, I came across Hengyi Hall, which seemed excellent with almost zero negative reviews, and I wanted to have breakfast there. After contacting the front desk, I added the customer service's WeChat. They enthusiastically helped me and my leader apply, gave accommodation suggestions, and then I temporarily changed my itinerary to stay two nights in Hengyi Hall in different room types. I didn't remember the name of this customer service when she first added me because I wasn't feeling well, but later looking at the chat history, I found out her name is Nanxing! She didn't take credit and, as she wasn't on duty that day, assigned me to another butler named Banxia. When she came to Di Shang to pick me up, I recognized her instantly and felt a sense of familiarity. She was very responsible during check-in and dinner that evening. After learning of my dissatisfaction with the restaurant's food, she immediately contacted the restaurant even after her shift, provided an explanation, and arranged a refund for the relevant dishes, which completely surprised me. Oh, and I was very happy with the room on the first night! The next day, Banxia was off, and Nanxing provided the service. Actually, on the day of the room change, before 12 PM, I had already packed my belongings in preparation for the cleaner to tidy up and for the next guest to check in. I repeatedly expressed my willingness to check out first and then check into the new room after they had arranged it. The butler said it wasn't necessary. I thought, 'If I were the guest checking in that day, I would certainly want a clean room ready for me.' So that day, I waited until 1 PM without having lunch, as I had a lot of luggage from my long stay in Wuzhen and wanted to cooperate with the inn to change rooms at their convenience. When nothing happened, I went across the street for wontons, then returned to my room to continue waiting. Until I heard a butler showing guests a courtyard room of the same type downstairs, saying the room type was the same and so on. I thought the guests who were going to stay in my previous room had arrived. I went to the balcony to look, guessing I should call out to the butler and tell her I could check out first and then check into the next room after it was ready, so I could also go out for a walk instead of waiting. That day, several guests had already checked out, and I saw cleaners working. I don't know why the hotel didn't show more flexibility and prioritize the guest experience, but instead emphasized the room type? So at that time, I could have slowly and calmly organized my things for the room change or expressed my dissatisfaction, but I was very uneasy because I had never encountered such a situation, and I felt uncomfortable. I also felt Nanxing's attitude was not proactive enough. Another reason was that I came here alone to recuperate and didn't want to cause any trouble, so I didn't say anything. Later, the new guest's butler came with a cleaner to help me with my luggage and directly changed rooms, so I didn't think much of it. The problem was solved, but it took up almost half the afternoon, and I was really tired. The new room was indeed very grand and looked good, but it wasn't suitable for staying, or rather, even less suitable for one person. However, this was my chosen option, so I couldn't blame the hotel. The reason it wasn't suitable was that almost all the windows in the two-bedroom, one-living room suite couldn't be opened, and even the curtains weren't suitable for being drawn. Especially the main bedroom window, behind which was a pedestrian walkway, facing a beautiful lake. But I couldn't open the window, and staff and tourists from the scenic area could walk past at any time, leaving no privacy. Later, afternoon tea was delivered. The food itself wasn't bad, but in that situation, I really felt the inn's style was pretentious and superficial! I remember later, because I stayed in the scenic area for many days, many people asked me which hotel was the best. Honestly, I would say Hengyi Hall is the one I least recommend! On the day of the room change, I felt that Nanxing, as the butler, was not as responsible as Banxia. In fact, I later realized I had wronged her, Nanxing, I'm sorry! I shouldn't have been prejudiced, but I couldn't express my true thoughts to you on WeChat since I didn't say anything at the time! Later, on the night of the room change, because I had no appetite, I hardly ate anything at Da Chafan near the inn's entrance and packed it back to my room. The reason for packing was that I was afraid of getting hungry at night, and I had confirmed with Banxia earlier that I could heat food in the hotel. Unexpectedly, when I checked with the front desk about heating the food that night, they produced a disclaimer for me to sign, which I had not expected! And it was never mentioned to me during the previous confirmation. I was very tired at the time and didn't think much of it, so I said it was okay, I'd sign it, whether I needed it or not didn't matter. But after returning to my room, the more I thought about it, the more uncomfortable I felt, so later when I was hungry at night, I ate some snacks I brought and didn't heat the food. That evening, Banxia actively contacted the butler of Jin Tang, where I was going to stay next. To be honest, from then on, I felt like I was being handed over, a feeling I hadn't experienced from Di Shang to Hengyi Hall, it was very strange! Because the room I checked into was hurriedly cleaned, many areas were not clean, especially the main bedroom. The floor was sticky; when you stepped on it, you could hear a clinging sound when you lifted your foot. Some might ask why I didn't say anything at the time. My answer is, first, I was checking out the next day, and I was tired and didn't want to complain. If I complained and they came to clean at night, I would be even more tired. Second, I was still staying in Wuzhen, in Xizha Old Street, and they knew where I was staying. I was traveling alone, and I didn't want to cause trouble!!! On the day of checkout, around 11 AM, a boat was smoothly arranged to take me to Jin Tang! At the pier, seeing the butler of the last inn I was staying at, I felt apprehensive, fearing more disappointment. I told myself not to expect anything, so I wouldn't be disappointed, but the outcome is often the opposite. I will slowly write about my experiences at the first and third hotels later. I don't know which inn arranged the boat, only that the information I received from both places was inconsistent. Firstly, I stayed two nights at Hengyi Hall, and it was booked separately, but Hengyi Hall told me I could have one boat ride, and then Jin Tang could arrange my departure from the scenic area. Later, the Jin Tang butler actively arranged my convenient travel and didn't care how many boat rides I had, just telling me I had enough for my long stay, arranging boat rides and shuttle buses entirely according to my convenience! My stay at Hengyi Hall was basically like this. At checkout, I was very grateful to Banxia and Nanxing, but often one's impression of a person isn't that comprehensive. Nanxing didn't seem as warm as Banxia, but later looking at the chat history, I found out that Nanxing was the one who gave me accommodation suggestions and arranged the room. It just happened that Nanxing was off duty on the day of check-in, and Banxia took over, so I naturally, in my confusion, thought everything was arranged by Banxia. That's all. When changing hotels and connecting with the new hotel, Banxia actively contacted them and created a group chat. The communication was good at the time, but after checking out and moving to the third hotel, I discovered I had left my charger at Hengyi Hall. I @-ed Banxia in the group, but there was no reply for a long time. When I tried to private message Banxia, I found she had deleted me! Of course, I can't blame Banxia, the head butler; you might be busy, or group messages might be bothering you. And before this, I had already added the Jin Tang butler on WeChat, fearing I might disturb your work, so I reluctantly contacted you, Butler Banxia, in the group. I was so embarrassed at the time. At checkout, didn't you say 'welcome back'? Didn't you say I was still in Wuzhen on this street and could come visit you? Would we meet again? Didn't you say in the Jin Tang lobby that you would wait for me to find you? In less than an hour, you truly showed how quickly you can change your mind! Eventually, I contacted Nanxing, who helped me find my charger and delivered it to Jin Tang. Meanwhile, Jin Tang was also actively helping me. Where are you, Butler Banxia? After this, Nanxing gave me a follow-up call immediately after checkout and hoped for a fair and good review for Hengyi Hall and you, Butler Banxia. Later, when I had nothing to do, I looked at our chat history and realized that the person who seemed less enthusiastic might be the one genuinely doing things. I'm saying this here hoping you won't be prejudiced against anyone because of this. Reflect on your own actions! Put yourself in others' shoes! I also hope Hengyi Hall and the unified management leaders of the scenic area can give employees a fair, just, and transparent evaluation! I heard you also have unified management and standards, so don't be so formalized and formulaic. Wuzhen should be a warm place, a soft and gentle water town. Butler Banxia, I've seen many good reviews online, but for tourists staying 1-2 nights in the scenic area, the experience might not be complete or authentic. Whereas I stayed in the scenic area for 12 nights and 13 days, so I can say I don't fully understand but have experienced a lot, and have many comparisons! After checking into Jin Tang, I reluctantly extended my stay for another night; if not for family matters, I think I would have stayed until the end of the spring holiday. After checking into Jin Tang, apart from Jin Tang's breakfast and meals at two restaurants, and strolling around the water market for snacks, and revisiting Di Shang for memories, I hardly went anywhere else for my three meals a day. So, think about your internet tycoon's collaborative restaurant! Alas, I hope you take it seriously! Nanxing, I apologize for misunderstanding you, and I also apologize if this review causes some people to misunderstand you, but what I want is to give an honest review. Next time, Jin Tang and Di Shang will be my reasons to come to Wuzhen again, while I think I won't be too willing to choose Hengyi Hall again, despite passing by it many times!
