Just returned from a lovely 5 day stay at this beautiful hotel with DUNWOOD Travel. Our original holiday was cancelled due to low numbers. I am sure that this was very much a blessing in disguise. On arrival we were met by the Duty manager with a welcome speech and teas & coffee whilst porterage was arranged for our luggage to our rooms. Everywhere in the hotel was very clean. Nice large lift and we had upgraded to a room with a balcony (much bigger than we expected) Beautiful view across the Babbacombe downs & bay. Food was good and plenty-full. This was a buffet style and my wife suffers with Parkinson. Was intending to sort her food myself but we were taken to a table very near and several times a waitress was available to assist. This was how it was all of our stay. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Always prepared to do the "extra mile" We have already decided to return back in the summer next year. We will then be able to take better advantage of the balcony and view

On arrival was welcomed with a warm welcome from staff members and was seated at our reserved table and our drinks order was taken the 3 meats choices was so tender and lovely and you could have all three and nice selection of veg and the toasties and yourshire puddings where so good and the free dessert was a nice touch and they where lovely and the staff where happy to help and chatty and would definitely come back here. My party had 6 adults and 5 kids and the children really enjoy it to.

Hotel and staff eager to make you comfortable, with no stresses, The food was acceptable but not top notch, there was plenty available, the best was breakfast choices. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds and facilities. The evening entertainment (after the option of playing bingo) was provided by various singing artists which We found was better than the norm. The artist which was exceptionally good was a guy called Simon Gee, whose guitar and singing was the best I have heard . Would recommend a short stay at this hotel.

Just returned from a wonderful long weekend at The Babacombe hotel , staff were so kind and friendly and David the general manager couldn’t do enough for you to make your stay a comfortable and enjoyable experience and that goes for all the staff , excellent food and fabulous views from the hotel , thanks again for a lovely stay

Very welcoming, great hotel and wonderful staff. Beautiful scenery very relaxing the hotel food was excellent good choices and plenty of it. Buffet meals. Big dinning room beautifully set up and extremely clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Bingo every night from 8pm followed by live entertainment We can’t wait to come back

Went for Sunday Lunch, the food was basic small portion of thinly cut meat, all tasted very bland, the tiramasu pudding was unrecognisable. the main issue was the queuing to obtain a ticket and pay for the lunch in Costa Coffee took 15 minutes, only one poor girl on the till, this was despite me prebooking the meal, you also had to obtain your drinks there and carry them into the dinning room. all needs reviewing.

I literally could not fault this hotel or it's staff. The food was wonderful with an amazing selection at both breakfast and dinner. As someone with a food intolerance I've stayed in places where this hasn't been catered for, however at this hotel not only was it catered for but the staff went out of their way to supply special items for the duration of my stay. Nothing was too much trouble, the chef guided me through the carvery choices and checked the cooking ingredients to ensure it didn't contain any lactose. As for the rest of the stay, the hotel was lovely with an amazing sea view. My room which was a single supplement was basic but cosy and was well cleaned and maintained. The cleaning and hospitality staff were all lovely and very approachable. All in all a very nice stay. Would definitely go back again.

Really good location. Lovely staff and coffee. Such a shame that there hasn't been more thought into access and toilets for babies in prams and the disabled. Would easily be resolved if the glass panel was removed from the decking at the top right and sloping ramp installed. There are no baby changing facilities. And the disabled access is very narrow and via the main hotel. Have been coming here for over a year and although there have been some alterations to the decorations and furnishings the disabled access and baby changing facilities are disappointing and let it down.. there is plenty of room to add a pull down changing table in the toilets.

For Costa Coffee cafe, - only. My very first, and last, piece of lemon cake yesterday, 21st Aug, was so so stale. Inedible. I mentioned this to the young man behind the counter, just in passing as we were leaving. He smiled and said he wasn't surprised as the lot would be discarded a little later. He shrugged and smiled when I suggested it was a bad idea, selling stale goods. We will give the place a miss. From two local residents, ex regulars.
