What a find ,so much nicer than Weatherspoons.. On arrival staff were very welcoming.. fantastic little breakfast room with seats overlooking the church square breakfast was worth the money with tea and coffee included … well worth a visit for a festival breakfast

My partner and I went there for breakfast. It took about 40 minutes to prepare, and the food was average. When it was time to pay, I told the waitress that we had two English breakfasts and two teas. After we left, we noticed a sign stating that hot drinks were included and didn't cost extra. This information wasn't clear beforehand. It wasn't a lot, but I don't like when someone takes advantage of tourists.

We had a great 5 nights' stay at this 17th century coaching inn, right in the middle of Newport. There is a great staff team at The Wheatsheaf, which is a traditional inn with a good number of rooms of varying shapes and sizes. We were particularly impressed by both the welcome and service we received from staff member, Summer. The breakfasts and the evening meals were both well worth writing home about and we were well pleased with the array of beers and ciders on offer.

Absolutely brilliant experience from start to finish Rhys couldn’t do enough absolute professional. This guy should be your front of House / area manager all the time excellent behaviours( you can’t teach that )! . The rooms are basic, very clean and everything that you need. Food is amazing, thank you very much. I’ll definitely be back with my family for a holiday.. cheers Richard.

Lovely lunch at the Wheatsheaf today, I had the Tandoori chicken burger from the specials board and hubby had the ploughmans, well presented and fresh tasty food! Can't fault it! Lovely atmosphere with friendly helpful staff! Will definitely be returning

Dropped in for breakfast. Hearty well cooked quality English breakfast for just £8.95 including unlimited tea/coffee served in a refurbished upstairs restaurant. Excellent value and experience. Highly recommended. Well done Wheatsheaf Newport Isle of Wight

We were a group of 8 on a golf weekend, and we chose to stay at the Wheatsheaf Inn in Newport. The location allowed us easy access t the coast and golf courses with just a 20-minute drive. The Inn was truly fantastic, with warm and welcoming hosts, clean rooms and delicious food. The pub downstairs had just the right amount of atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it to anyone seeking accommodation in Newport.

When my girlfriend and I got show the room that we where staying in. There was hair on the sheets, it was clear that the bedding had not been changed since the last guest. Then we looked at the shower and toilet in this hotel, can only be discribed as disgusting, clearly had not been cleaned. With toilet still having stains from the previous guests in it. It was clear that the room had not been cleaned, only the sheets had been made tidy with newish towels put down. The hotel manager offered for us to rebook the room, but moving forward me and my girlfriend will not stay in this hotel again.

Food was very tasty and reasonably priced considering how much everywhere else has put their prices up by recently. A lovely atmosphere as well where you can while away several hours and people watch from the window. I’m sure I will return for another meal in due course.
