If you want to truly experience Trieste in the right location and with style then this is the place. A small perfectly built Palace run by staff who care about their guests. There is absolutely everything you need here. I arrived late at night and when I walked out onto the breakfast room the following room found myself saying wow at the view on the stunning Piazza. I choose this hotel because I had always wanted to stay there in Trieste, I did return for a second stay and I would stay there again. You are close to the sea, the historical centre, numerous bars and restaurants, shopping and tourist hotspots. The rooms are lovely, majestically clean. Breakfast are a relaxing experience you do not want to hurry because why would you with that view around you. The bar is the place to be throughout the day and also acts as an informal restaurant throughout the day. Formal is also available but that was not my choice. Rooms were large comfortable and very clean with the best amenities provided. Book your stay, you know you want to!

We had some issues getting to the hotel due to the very slow passport control at Trieste airport and so turned up about 12:30 in the morning. Once we found the hotel we rang the bell several times and did not notice the sign stating that if closed go to the Intercontinental on the other side of the pedestrian area. The receptionist came across and guided us to the other hotel where we booked in and then he came across, showed us the key to get in and up to the lift where we went up to our suite. The suite was a good size with a microwave, fridge, kettle, pots and pans etc. The room was clean and the bed comfortable and the room was quiet so we got a good nights sleep. The breakfast is in the other hotels' restaurant but it is less than a minute to walk across to it. Breakfast choice was not great - you have to choose your breakfast from a menu and it would have been better to have a buffet type. The hotel was quite expansive and I did not feel that it was worth the cost.

I loved our overnight stay at The Modernist! It’s a chic, smart, arty hotel in the centre of the city, easy walking distance to all the shopping, bars and restaurants. The room was spotless with tea, coffee, minibar and toiletries all provided. The restaurant and cocktail bar serves creative cocktails, a great buffet breakfast and a fabulous dinner - we enjoyed them all!!

El departamento es amplio y moderno. La cocina muy completA, y nos dejaron un Agua grande de cortesia! y tiene un lavarropa que en 20’ lava todo!! Estaba muy limpio. Las toallas y ropa de cama eran muy buena calidad. Cama confortable. Muy cera del puerto para los cruceristas y en el cerca de la plaza de la Unidad. Hay un autoservicio de ropa de lavado y secado muy cerquita. Nos sentimos muy como Excelente lugar Lo recomiendo

This hostel is amazing. We stayed there for two nights and had a wonderful time. It’s very close to lots of bars and restaurants and you can see the harbor out of some of the rooms. The kitchen facilities are spacious and very clean. And the included breakfast was great. All of the people staying at the hostel were wonderful. Trieste is a great city and this is a great place to stay. The hostel was also very close to public transit (bus) stops so it’s easy to get around if you want to venture out. Definitely note that there is no lift and the hostel is a couple floors up, so pack light! The hostel was also pretty hot and humid, I think they could benefit from some fans. However, I understand that Trieste is a very hot and humid city in the dinner. Marta, who works reception, is so kind and helpful!

El hotel nos gustó mucho, es un hotel con pocas habitaciones, la clásica es justita de tamaño, pero todo muy limpio y decorado con mucho gusto, muy clásico, el baño era pequeño, tenia ducha, pero tenía de todo y todo estaba en perfecto estado.
En el desayuno, no sabíamos que los platos calientes, había que pedirlos, no estaba indicado y tampoco nos lo ofrecieron, pero al ver a otros clientes pedirlo, nosotros también lo hicimos, excepto eso, todo fue muy correcto y la atención de los empleados también.

Posto strategico per visitare Trieste ed altre città, molto vicino alla Slovenia. Camere pulite , servizio ottimo e staff molto cortese e disponibile. Colazione varia ed abbondante e di qualità non mancava nulla. Garage con parcheggio gratuito. Anche se non dispone del ristorante il posto offre soluzioni di tutti i tipi nelle vicinanze anche a piedi. Piscina pulita grande e con diversi livelli anche idromassaggio, affaccia direttamente sul porto. Consiglio anche per famiglie con bambini.

We checked in after hours - they sent the instructions via email and text so it couldn’t have been any easier. the apartment was spacious and clean - we were only there for a night before our cruise but I would love to come back to this little town and stay here much longer. Highly recommend- the front desk staff were so friendly and accommodating.

Reception staff and spa staff were super, breakfast staff could have paid more attention to us, we felt rather ignored.

IIrene Fernández GarcíaPara comenzar mi reseña quiero aclarar que soy una estudiante de 21 años, acostumbrada a hacer viajes MUY LOW COST, no suelo elegir hoteles y me conformo con poco. Por otro lado, por circunstancias iba a viajar con una amiga y acabé yendo sola.
El desayuno era completo y variado, la repostería estaba muy rica y tienen bebidas vegetales, es lo que más me gustó de mi estancia.
Las trabajadoras de recepción me han tratado muy bien. He podido comunicarme en inglés con todas, me han atendido cuando lo he necesitado, son muy profesionales. Cuando pedí comida para llevar la recogieron, me avisaron y me ofrecieron dejarme un tenedor.
fue una grata sorpresa que en mi habitación (Habitación doble con vistas parciales al mar), la 111, tuviese dos camas de un ancho de 90 cm juntas. Al reservarlo ponía que la cama tendría un ancho comprendido entre 135 y 150 cm. Las ”amenities” estaban muy bien, a mí me dieron botes de 32 cl de gel, champú y crema corporal, había un dispensador de jabón de manos en el lavabo, gorro de ducha, bastoncillos, lima de uñas y algodón, kit de costura, sobre de jabón de higiene íntima, vasos desechables y un bolígrafo.
La calefacción hacía un poco de ruido, aconsejo que si no saben cómo funciona el regulador de temperatura y los distintos botos que hay, pregunten a los trabajadores. Las cortinas no dejaban la habitación en completa oscuridad, así que si sois españoles acostumbrados a las persianas y sois sensibles a la luz, podríais traer un antifaz.
El único punto negativo es que cuando haciendo el check out le dije que una bolsa de silicona reutilizable había desaparecido se limitó a disculp**** educadamente, en lugar de ofrecerme una compensación por haber tirado a la basura mi propiedad.

PPengguna TetamuFirst of all it was so easy to get the train from the airport straight to the central train station, and it was a 5 minute walk from there to the hotel. We arrived late in the evening and I was worried that it might be a problem getting in as they don't have a 24hr reception, but they sent us instructions which were super-easy to follow. The staff, when we met them the next morning, were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, spotless and very comfortable. We were given a voucher for breakfast in a nearby cafe/bar, (Harry's), which was excellent. The location is great for visiting Trieste. It's a 10 minute walk to the Grand canal and the Piazza Unita d'Italia which are right in the centre, where all the shops, restaurants and bars are. I highly recommend this hotel.

I was delighted with all aspects of this charming hotel. I had a lovely room with a spacious shower room. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had plenty to choose from and the coffee.was excellent. The hotel is only about 5 minutes walk from the main square and is very near the castle and Roman theatre.

PPengguna TetamuWe recently stayed in the charming hotel after a cruise the hotel is in a wonderful location surrounded by shops restaurants bars in a beautiful city. The hotel rooms are comfortable and clean they could do with a little upgrade and additional sockets , The reception staff were welcoming and professional.The terrace bar /restaurant is lovely excellent food and service to match.

PPengguna TetamuVery pleasant stay at the hotel in the centre of Trieste. Receptionist was very feiendly. The room was with external bathroom, but exept walking thru thw corridor, it was spacious with all needed, shower, fan, paper, bide, toilet. The balcony was nice and street oriented. Breakfast was included and fantastic with even vegan options croasant. Elevator is in the building and it made out luggage varring easier ro the first floor. Next time I ll book the same hotel.

CCuriosity54976015252You can check in at certain time, I was arriving 1 hour later and I had to call them. It was difficult to communicate with the person. I had to send them information at theis website in Italian using translator. They never replied, one day before arrival, I had an Italian guy to call them to see how to get in, they answered that they will wait for me. Good thing is at the common WC they provide antiseptic to clean it.

Close to the train station! Walking distance to the town center, bustling canal area and hop on hop off bus origination stop. Very friendly staff.Adequate breakfast. Functional room size. Great fluffy towels and well lit room . A bargain for $108 euro a night!

We found this cosy hotel well priced and oh so quiet and certainly a 5 star rating for the price. All the staff spoke excellent English and were unfailingly courteous. There’s a lift that helps if you have heavy luggage to manage. I think we paid around £80 a night for two and their help yourself breakfast came in at less than a fiver each. Brekky was ace - great coffee, juices, hams and cheeses, 3/4 varieties of jams, croissants, fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts and I’m sure I’ve left stuff out. The bedroom was well furnished, the shower could get to super hot and the entire place was spic & span clean. It’s pretty central and a 5 or so minute walk to the James Joyce statue in one direction and about the same the other way to the main Trieste train station. But now I must note my gratitude to the folks who work here. This was 5 star priceless. I arrived here weak and ill, discharged from a local Trieste hospital after 40 hours, having been food poisoned on an MSC cruise ship and dispatched from their ship hospital (where I was very well treated) to the hospital. My wife on the other hand was left by MSC to struggle on the dockside as the Armonia sailed away, just as the sun set, with most of our luggage still aboard. That’s a whole other story and we did re - board ship a week later in Venice. The only reason the ship docked in Trieste was high winds in Venice. On early morning arrival here from hospital to check-in we were offered cappuccinos and pastries while our room was prepared and it turned out these were complimentary. They knew we were coming and that I’d been hospitalised. Thereafter they helped us beyond our ability in words to thank them for all their kindnesses. I mean if Italy has an honours system for those who help others these gentle people deserve to be top of the list. One day I needed a doctor to get a fit to travel certificate and the young man at reception put in 14 phone calls for me including waiting on call backs. Over an hour later he achieved what I needed - just pause to think about this - over an hour and he dealt with other calls and guests too. What he did we simply could not have achieved by ourselves. My wife and I were just stunned at this humanity which came with a smile. Then he announced he needed a coffee and promptly proceeded to make all three of us cappuccinos offering fruit and pastries again all on the house. They translated for us, including medical papers, organised many taxi rides including one to Venice and could not have done more. So we can’t recommend here strongly enough. We truly were in great need and they delivered 100% and y’know we’ll never forget the humanity and all we could do was say thank you and we said it a lot.
