Hotel berhampiran Trinidad's old town, Trinidad

Adequate, small, quaint hotel, good for our two night stay. My husband and I went on a 10 day, People to People Tour of Cuba and stayed, while in Trinidad. Our room was okay, nothing to write home about. Probably, one of the best available in this Unesco city. Safety deposit box did not work. We inquired and management said that all the safety deposit boxes were not working. Small pool, which we did not have time to use. Wifi worked for a few hours and had to be reconnected frequently. Again, very ”normal” in Cuba. Breakfast was mediocre. Eggs and more eggs, some toast, and good coffee ( I ordered capuccino). Electric power was out several times during our stay. Generator took over after a few minutes. We understood that this was ”normal” in most of Cuba. No complaints. Overall, adequate stay.

Perfect location, everything in walking distance. Such wonderful and friendly staff. I has to get up early the next morning for my bus and the staff made sure I was ok and gave me a little gift box of water and a sandwich for my travels. Beautiful hotel and amazing food. Definitely recommend whilst staying in Trinidad

The courtyard is old fashioned and a nice place to talk, have a drink or just be. The rooms are nicely decorated. We enjoyed it much more than our more modern hotel in Havana. The people in the bar/restaurant are friendly and efficient. You feel welcome there. Breakfast was decent and fast. Coffee was excellent.

Me and my friend had a wonderful stay in this lovely hotel. It's beautifully located on a hill on walking distance to the center of Teinidad. From the room we had a lovely view on the city and the sea. In the room, everything worked fine, there was enough light and we had no trouble with blackouts or lack of water. In other hotels where we stayed during our visit in Cuba we often had no water or light, or no water in the swimming pool or things like this. Of course it is Cuba and you can't compare with hotels in Europe. In the light of the scare in Cuba I have to say that this hotel is maintained as well as possible, actually it was one of the best during our trip in Cuba. The buffet was good, enough variety (don't forget it's Cuba) and the swimming pool area is reasonably well maintained as well. Staff everywhere has beenvery friendly to us. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Fue una excelente experiencia. Vivo en Cuba y reconozco el esfuerzo que realizan todos los trabajadores del Hotel para mantener un nivel de servicio capaz de satisfacer al más exigente de los clientes. De manera general me sentí muy bien. Un solo elemento, que no me gustó fue el acoso de cubanos luchadores en el área de la playa. Este elemento es muy desagradable y siembra inseguridad en los clientes del Hotel.

Overall great value for the price we paid. We are a mid forties couple who have been to Cuba many times over the past 20 years. The food exceeded our expectations. Buffet was full of 'cook to order' beef, fish, chicken, pork, shrimp, mussels etc. Always fresh fruit and veggies and fresh eggs and bread. For coffee lovers, Jose Adrian makes the best americano in the lobby bar. Dark delicious black coffee with golden crema! However, they need to turn down the AC in the lobby bar though, dear God it was like an ice box in there sometimes and the poor staff were sick with colds. Service overall was good. Vladiy at the beach bar was excellent and so was Miguel at the Skye bar, they both provide 5* service. To be honest I had debated on an overall 4/5 for this resort but upped it to 5 because of the excellent service and drinks they provided us during our stay. As for entertainment, if you want a lot of organized activities, a theatre or nightly disco, not the place for you. Other than evening sunset with live music (which we really enjoyed) and a call to Zumba around 4:30 by the pool you wont really see or hear many entertainment staff. Which kind of added to the peaceful ambiance (especially with the spa music playing in the mornings which I quite enjoyed). It felt more like a DIY entertainment place with a volleyball net and soccer nets in between the pool and beach (and a ping pong table in a room) which we saw many families using which was nice. There was a small show most evenings in the sandy area between the buffet bar and Skye bar where the kids could get up and dance with the dancers etc. Overall a great place to just enjoy your book on a beach chair or a game of cards in the lobby. Beach: If you want long walks on a soft sand beach then not the place for you. However, it is still a beautiful beach with an absolutely gorgeous mountain view. Snorkeling was great right off the beach and they will lend you snorkeling gear for an hour at a time for free which is great. We were at the beach by 9:30am every day and had no problem getting shade and a chair which was nice. Cleanliness: Always clean room towels, beach towels, linens etc. That being said, I know others have been bragging about cleanliness but honestly was not super impressed with the main areas, particularly the floors. I think they need some additional staff in that area as often saw dried in spills. It could also be all the modern whites and light greys making it more difficult to clean? I think front desk staff, while friendly, could also provide more information on check in I.e. where to book a la cartes, info about the amenities etc. Side notes: -Was neat to take the bus into Trinidad ($5 USD return pp) for the afternoon although In hindsight I wish I had organized a walking tour to get more out of the visit -You can also visit the sauna at the spa for free Overall a great vacation! However, not entirely sure we would return, I think if we were going to endure the long bus
