The staff is great and the grounds are nice, and the room was what we expected. The food however is very disappointing. I had half thawed croissant for breakfast, and the Italian food at Grazie is offensive. The restaurant reservation process is not very convenient, you have to show up right when they open in person and reserve tables which somehow are already booked till 7:30. The food experience needs significant improvement, and introducing some local Grenadian food would be nice.

In my personal opinion the problems here are a result of "corporate culture", not the nice staff who try. Here's my experience through my eyes.
1) upon registering they strike fear into you by procalaiming a fine if you lose your wrist band. That was a topic of discussion among - the anxiety of having this over your head when being supposed to relax.
2) The diamond club is a joke. It is a caste system with no real difference and you are reminded so all the time. Don't upgrade to it.
3) I am not an epicurean, but the food and presentation is shockingly for me below acceptable.
4) We had to remind to get our room cleaned half the time. The other half the time they forgot towels.
5) Useable portion of beach without rocks is minimal.
6) They have entertainment, but have a propensity to blast the amps so loud that you really can't hear or discern. Too bad: they had a great violinist who could not even hear herself play.
The Vibe staff, though they are supposed to be cheer leaders for the fun, humiliated me when I wore a nice wind breaker to the restaurants due the excessively low temps they refuse to adjust.
Usually there are vacant tables at the buffet, but a long line to get in because of the very slow replacement of food. The nice couples we met had belly aches from the food. Portion control and cost containment on steroids is overdone. They also hire circulating sophisticated apologists where money could be used better elsewhere. Nice sand/water. Just my opinion.

The resort grounds were nice and our room in the Diamond club had a very nice ocean view.
The staff was hit or miss, some friendly and helpful, others clearly annoyed they had to mix us a drink at the bar. Not much for drink service at the beach. Generally could get towels and chairs so that was good.
The worst part was the food. Taj was excellent. French place was fine, buffet was hit or miss, and the Italian place was a miss. Other than Taj none of the food was particularly good, but mostly edible. Good quality Protein is hard to come by. Mini bar was stocked first day with snacks, then never again. No place to get some afternoon snacks, and buying them on resort would have cost more than the room.
The gym was awesome for a resort. Had enough weight equipment to do a real workout as well as cardio equipment. Even personal trainers and classes if you want those.

The staff and beaches were amazing. The higher end restaurants were all excellent. The buffet was fine, a bit confusing could almost use some paring down. Not sure how else to describe that.
What was lacking for me was snacks. No where to grab a snack that wasn’t a cupcake or cookie during day. Neither the store or coffee shop has anything healthy/ grab and go.

Stay was supposed to be from February 6-10 (4 nights). Had to wait for room to be ready. When it was finally ready, I arrived in the room and the floor was still wet and the room had an overall “wet/mildew-y” smell. I let that go. I opened up the patio to my “luxury room ocean front” - nice view, on my way in to close the door, I noticed mold on the drapes. Was disappointed but even let this second red flag go. Got in the shower after a long day of travel and there were two moths stationary in there. Tried to kill both. It was a mess. Now, I’m pissed. My plan was to take a quick nap before going out that night. Pull back the cover, inspect the bed. When it got to pillows and side of headboard, I noticed one bug crawling. Pulled the other pillow back, there were more. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing at this “luxury resort”. Thankfully, I hadn’t yet unpacked my stuff. Called the front desk asking the bell person to come and get my bag since there is no way I was staying in this filthy $500 per night room! They sent up two gentlemen to inspect the room and the bed. They saw what I saw. Crawling bugs. They left, the bellman came up and get my bags and took me back to the lobby. The front desk was aloof. They told me that they are at max capacity, have no other rooms but what they will do is “fumigate the room” and while they do that, how about I go “have dinner and relax”. I’m sorry what?! I checked out less than 2 hours after I checked in. Horrible, horrible experience!!!

The Royalton Grenada is a beautiful resort, however the staff is not well trained. Restaurant and bar staff are not the most friendly and helpful and if it does not fall within their job they are unwilling to help. Restaurants and bars also do not open timely and it’s almost 45 minutes to and hour delay in opening. They also see you waiting about but will not acknowledge you. Not a wide variety of food, merely the same menu everyday. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary on Tuesday, we were not even able to get a space to have dinner at one of their restaurants, had to resort to room service. One major issue was housekeeping, we called six times for our room to be cleaned and get new towels, up until our check out our room was never cleaned and no one cared to advise us why. Overall very disappointed and most likely will not visit this resort again unless improvements are made with their service.
