The hotel facilities are a bit dated, but the peaceful scenery and rich breakfast more than make up for it. It's perfect for a relaxing, slow-paced stay. There's a laundry room available, and nearby, you can find a roadside stall selling wood-fired pizza, which is absolutely delicious and authentic. There are also plenty of other eateries around.

I paid over USD 300 for a room that was a huge disappointment. The hotel feels very old and outdated. The bathroom was stinky, and shockingly, bubbles were coming out from another hole after I used the shower—hygiene was clearly an issue. When I brought this up, the front desk was unhelpful and unwilling to change the room, instead demanding another NZD 100 for an upgrade. Staff was not friendly, and there were no greetings during breakfast. Definitely not worth the high price. Avoid if possible.

The hotel is old, but the interior has been renovated. There's no elevator, so if you're on the second floor, you'll have to carry your luggage up yourself. The room is spacious enough, and the garden is also quite large.

We had a good two night stay at Distinction Mackenzie Country Hotel. It was well located and an easy drive to the attractions of Mount Cook Aotaki. The hotel was also well placed for our subsequent drive to Queenstown. The room was spacious and clean and we enjoyed a comfortable stay.

all was good. except absolutely no drinking water was provided in rooms we had no idea. had 2 kids with us. i asked at recption if can buy some. told all is closed after 8pm plz drink room bathroom tap water its safe to drink. so be prepare after 8pm this place is complete shut down specially if u going with kids.

Location was excellent and the front office manager at the check in counter was very nice in giving us advice on what to do around twizel.

Service from one particular reception staff member was terrible and the young girl behind the bar/front of the restaurant was very rude and had terrible customer service

The hotel has no elevator, making it very difficult to carry large luggage upstairs. The duvet cover and duvet insert were separate and not included. There was no bottled water in the room, and the hotel didn't sell bottled water either; you had to boil water or buy it outside. There was a long hair on the duvet.

It's a very ordinary motel in the town center, the kind that would cost around 100-200 yuan in China. The facilities are a bit old, but it can't be compared to anything in China. I stayed one night and left; it was quite quiet.

A very nice town, quiet but convenient for shopping and eating. This hotel is also good. Although the facilities are a bit old (key-locked door), it is quite clean and parking is convenient. It is suitable for friends who drive themselves.
