We had an Amazing experience at the Holiday Inn Express, Umhlanga. This has to be one of the best service I've experienced (local and international included). Wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend this Establishment. Check in was awesome. Brendan and team were extremely Welcoming, Friendly and Efficient. We were settled into the room in no time as well as informed of all the amenities. We traveled as a group and the team helped us to get rooms close to each other which was so convenient. Breakfast was scrumptious and the service exceeded our expectations. Trisha and the team take their work and service to customers so seriously - like it's their own company. My son wanted Chocolate muffins and they baked it specially for him - how amazing is that! We were leaving early to the airport and Trisha offered to have breakfast ready from 5am - was so impressed and grateful. This has to be one of the best hotels across the world. Kudos to the team and leadership. Highly recommend anyone to not hesitate to book here. Thanks so much guys

Menginap di Fire and Ice adalah pengalaman yang indah! Kakitangannya sangat mengagumkan, bilik saya berbau segar dan bersih dan katilnya sangat selesa membuatkan saya terfikir untuk meninggalkannya! Ia betul-betul bersebelahan dengan pusat membeli-belah besar dengan restoran yang hebat dan pantai hanya 5 minit uber (R15) jauhnya! Pasti akan mengesyorkan kepada sesiapa sahaja yang mahukan tempat yang bagus untuk tinggal!

Clean space with perfect beach design to each room. Have stayed several times and each time with a superior experience. Rooms with views, 300 meters to the ocean and famed lighthouse, restaurants galore out the door, coffee shops and woolies down the street. The best part is that the staff go above and beyond and exhibit incredible service.

The rooms were very spacious, but the OPEN bath is not conducive if you share a room with a colleague OR use the loo. A pull away curtain (netting) might do the trick? But all in all, a very nice experience. I've always wanted to stay there and now that I have, I would love to go back again. Breakfast is very nice with a lot to choose from. Even though it is on a busy road, you don't feel it or hear it. With direct access to the Gateway Mall, this could be my go-to-hotel. Just don't stay in the ”standard rooms” - NO fridges. There could be a lot of students at the hotel, check before you go as they do get loud at night.

Short of words to be exact lol! The food was excellent and service was top notch! I enjoyed my stay, went to the mall downstairs and you can get everything you want around you, which made my stay more enjoyable.

Hotel is in a fantastic location! The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean but I'm not so sure about the pool. The water looked clean.. just the floor of the pool was off-putting. I was a bit disappointed I didn't have a fridge in my room. Maybe larger rooms have them? During loadshedding hours, everything is still powered. The wifi was great! Overall, its a lovely hotel and would be happy to stay there again.

I was happy when the reservation staff was able to provide me with a room with a view. They were able to accommodate my need to check in early because we were having an event at the hotel. Nothing is better than getting up to a breathtaking view of the ocean. I was disappointed with the bathroom as the shower lacks safety handles. It was a family room so safety is of ultra importance. The shower floor tiles were smooth and slippery. The beds are comfortable and has an ironing board and iron at your disposal. There is adequate cupboard space for a family of 4. Room service was a disappointing a you pay a additional tariff for room service. It took over 45 minutes to have our food delivered on both occasions. The food arrived cold. I requested if we could checkout of the room later, the receptionist allowed us to do so. I was disappointed with the taste and quality of the breakfast. It was mediocre. The plus on the stay was that the food is Halaal, prepared in a fully Hallal kitchen and there was a Halaal Chef present. He accommodated my vegetarian dietary. needs. Also compliments to the staff from Banqueting who handled our event. They were outstanding. Hats off to Nompumelelo Mfeka, Thuthu Mbatha and Chef Precious Ngcongo for exceptional service, understanding our needs and good communication. - from Banqueting Department. Very spacious and comfortable rooms. The bed is comfy, the location to the shops is just across the road about 50m and the safety around the area is reassuring. There are plenty of restaurants within close walking distance and check in was seamless. Only issue would like housekeeping to refill coffee and tea.
