Ardtara Country House

My mum and I were made feel very welcome by Leanne, Sean and Valerie from the moment we arrived at Ardtara. It is the perfect place for a relaxing night away. There are lots of cozy spaces to relax, great food, exceptional staff and lovely bedrooms.

The food is always top notch, the rooms and lounges are beautiful, and the service from the entire staff is excellent. The level of professionalism, combined with a very personal and welcoming attitude from the staff, makes the service at Ardtara the absolute best. We have stayed at Ardtara 3 times in the past 7 months, and we plan to make it our regular destination for short stays and breaks. Highly recommended!

An amazing sanctuary of tranquility, ambience and great heritage.The dinning experience is truly memorable and exceptionally which is further complimented by a fantastic team who deliver great service. This is a great choice for your special occasion or simple an opportunity to indulge in ambience.

My husband and I were visiting family in N. Ireland and we booked two nights with Ardtara Country House. We highly recommend this lovely hotel for it's warmth ,beautiful interiors, service and dining. The manager- Sean- could not have been friendlier, and gave us ideas on sightseeing. Our room was very spacious, with a King bed that was very comfortable. We enjoyed dinner in their beautiful dining room (dark wood beams, hunting murals on the walls, ) both nights. The food is excellent and is a destination itself for many locals. We would stay here again!

We had a wonderful romantic foodie getaway here. Celebrated 1 month married by treating ourselves to the foodie package. The 2 course bar menu was unbelievable and nowhere near a standard bar menu! Absolutely delicious and the perfect way to start our trip after a long drive. We were welcomed by Sean and Valerie who were absolutely lovely and very generous on the wine pour!! Sean gave us some fantastic recommendations for our tour around the highlights of the area the following day. We hit up the dark hedges, Kinbane castle (highlight), the giants causeway, carric a line rope bridge and the bushmills distillery after a hearty breakfast at the hotel. We had the 6 course tasting menu on the second night and it was phenomenal. We don’t sit down until 7.45 and would recommend an earlier start to give yourself time between each course. The food was divine and the wine pairing has was perfect. We rolled up to our super comfortable beds after! I would highly recommend this for a couples getaway as a base to explore the north. We only had 1 day to see the area but could easily have spent more.

We stayed in Ardtara House for one night to celebrate a significant birthday of one of our party of 6. The staff were very welcoming and attentive - Leanne, Pedro and Valerie etc made sure our stay was memorable. Ardtara House is located in its own private grounds with opportunities to walk the perimeter or venture further to the old linen mills. Our meal was first class with each of our group most impressed with the quality of the varied starters and main courses selected. We could only manage petit fours for dessert but they were also excellent. We stayed in 2 superior rooms and one couple enjoyed the master room - each room had a very comfortable king sized bed and everything required for a pleasant stay. This was our first trip but we have already promised to return. Thank you to Sean and his excellent team for making this short visit such a success.

The only shame is it has taken us to now to discover this place. Fabulous setting, exceptional staff, lovely rooms and a superb dining experience created a memorable stay. Thank you to all at Ardtara Country House for a great experience. We will be back.

I have now stayed at the Ardtara many times & it always feels like a home from home ! Everybody is extremely friendly, the breakfasts are Fabulous & the setting is just amazing !! Lots of work has been going on in the spacious gardens & at this time of the year it is really quite special !! Nothing not to like !!

We had an absolutely beautiful stay here. Our bedroom was very spacious, immaculate and the king-size bed very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious. Perfect dining experience. A big shout out to Lee-anne our server. Nicola and the General Manager Sean made our stay perfect. Would highly recommend a stay here.
