Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta(R)

We having a wonderful dinner experience at Silk Road Garden. Their dishes are delicious, presentation is beautiful. And we served by Mr Yu Shiina, he is very kind and gives us a 5 stars services tonight. Thank you for bringing us a memorable dinner experience at our honeymoon trip. We must visit again in the near future.

probably actually 4.5 stars. We stayed 4 nites in March 2024. we felt fortunate to get the hotel room (released 90 days ahead) even though it was the most expensive (at least $100 -150 extra per nite) hotel of 5 hotels that we've stayed at in Tokyo. For comparison, we stayed in a 4 star big chain name on Mahaima (a Disney Resort partner on the monorail line last year for $220 less per nite. (this year the price at that same hotel was only $50 less per nite). so depending on how you look at it, we either got a good deal for an extra $50 per nite at Mira Costa or got a really GREAT deal last year. We stayed on the Venetian side. for a 20 year old hotel, the rooms are nice, evoking the feel of staying in a well-kept up family villa. in keeping with the theme, the furniture, furnishings, decorations appear to be Italian ornate with the Disney theme, but more subtle. e.g. the cartography map framed on the wall has a "Strait of YENSID", featuring Queen Clarabelle. It took me 2 days to realize that the pattern on the border of the raised ceiling was merman Mickey holding a shell. Asian Modern, this is not. but the room is well maintained, the sign of wear being the velour love seat; the velour appears worn. HVAC, lights, fridge all worked fine. probably state of the art 20 years ago, the closet has a motion detector to turn on a light. classified as a "5 star" hotel, I'm not sure that it would be the equal of a 4 seasons, Ritz etc. although I've never stayed in one. Certainly every staff encounter was professional and friendly and helpful. compared to the 4 star hotels I have stayed at, I do have to say that the housekeeping at the Mira Costa was thorough, efficient.... and we always saw a vacuum cleaner next to the linen cart--which I can't say for the 4 star large chain hotels we've stayed at. however I think a 5 star hotel should have better than instant coffee in the room. maybe it's just me. So, was it worth an extra $50 a nite? yes. While you just can't "walk downstairs and enter Disney Sea and go back and forth", you do get a special ticket which entitles you to enter either park ~ 30 min. earlier than the general public. which translates into 1 main ride extra. does it save waiting time to enter the park(s)? Yes. is it worth it not to have to get in line for the resort monorail and then walk to your hotel at the end of the day? maybe--if you have no more energy at the end of a day walking and standing. Is it worth an extra $200 a nite? that depends. if you're a Disney superfan, maybe. there are souvenirs like a Mira Costa plastic cup (that says "take me home"), a reusable small tote bag available no where else, etc. On the other hand you could (if you get a reservation!) have lunch for 2 at Magellan's which would also be very special and good. staying at the Mira Costa you also accept theme park or 5 star hotel prices for breakfast and lunch....or take the monorail to the mall and back losing

Worst hotel in terms of price and experience ratio. Check in process was very slow. We arrived at 3 PM and there was literally a 40 mins waiting line just for check in. And after you finished checking in. You have to wait another 30 mins for one staff to bring your luggages and take you to your room. I mean I can bring my own luggage to my room. Is this a hotel or a public hospital? For $400++ a night I would rather stay at Hilton or InterContinental. Disney is not that magical after all. I wouldn't stay here again. If it's not for the kids - Avoid.

Absolutely loved our stay. This hotel attaches to Disney Sea so you can drop in for a rest. The rooms are very ornate. We stayed in a Mickey room. The pool is incredible but you need to pay about $40pp to swim there! Like Tokyo Disneyland hotel, the beds can be very firm, indeed.

FINAL VERDICT: DisneySea parade is mind blowing, room with Harbor View is worth every cent if you success in booking the room (securing a good room is very challenging) 3 Line summary - Great for families who are big Disney fans and would like to make perfect memories & experience. Harbor View room gets you FULL view to the Porto Paradiso (Sea, Mountain and S.S. Columbia). You can enjoy all the Disney Sea parades (but NOT fireworks), elevating the experience. - Location trumps all. Provides a cozy shelter very close to the Disney park which helped the family recharge (especially younger ones) and re-enter the theme park. - Club level experience was worth the extra expense. Club level casts will try their best to attend to guests and they do have casts who can speak full English. WHEN: Feb 2024 WHO: Family of 3, includes a 2 year old daughter WHAT ROOM: Porto Paradiso Side Terrace Room, Harbor View HOW: We visited the Miracoasta for 1 days in 2024 early February as part of our Disney Vacation Package. Weather was very helpful despite it being Winter for Tokyo. 3 ~ 12 degrees celsius and mild with some clouds or sunny time to time. It was our 2nd Tokyo DisneySea visit and we wanted to explore the park seriously. The Miracoasta hotel location is very helpful for this as it’s directly connected to the park so we went to our room often to take rests and recharge. We had the Porto Paradiso side Terrace Room so we could enjoy the theme parks’ dreamy ambience even at the room & terrace not to mention that we got to see all the parades comfortably in bed. Check in process was convenient as our room had access to the concierge. I would recommend getting this access if you don’t speak Japanese and have enough budget, since this was drastically different experience vs. our last visit. Cast members are well trained in English and they deliver the best they can on personal requests which was very helpful elevating our family’s experience. Do note that some services (ex. soft copy access on photos taken by Disney photographers) are only available to Japanese speakers - I ended up switching my Disney app to Japanese to get more features from the app. TIPS: - Get the concierge level rooms if you do not speak Japanese and value experience over budget. Casts at the club level are well trained in English and very helpful in maximizing personal preferences. - Hotel has a indoor pool that you need to pay even if you are staying at the hotel, but because of this there are less guests and you can enjoy the fantastic pool all to yourself. You can re-enter the pool on the same day, even after check-out. - Porto Paradiso view was worth every penny and wonderful for viewing the Disney Sea parades, but you will NOT be able to see the fireworks from the room. *Disclaimer: 1. Staying at the only hotel which is located inside of Disneysea is an unforgettable experience. We stayed at Tuscany Side Capitano Mickey Superior Room. Too bad the Aquasphere view from our room windows was blocked by some walls. Interiors of the lobby and rooms are magnificent and flawless. However, the room toilet and shower are very standard and quite small In-house guests of Mira Costa received Happy Entry for Disneyland and Disneysea, which grants you 15 minutes earlier entry to the parks before regular opening hours. There is also an entrance directly from the hotel to Disneysea which opens 1 hour after the regular opening hour of the park. The indoor pool is not free. There is no gym (who would go to the gym anyway when you are staying at Disneysea hotel 😄) Gotta use the time to enjoy every second and every moment for the Disney experience. All of the staff are exceptionally friendly and very helpful. Check-in time is at 3 pm but we were informed to check in at 4:30 pm due to high occupancy, so we went to Disneyland first. Check-out time is at 12 pm and we could not get late check out because the hotel was fully booked. Mira Costa probably is one of the most high occupancy hotels in the world. It is very recommended to stay here if you want to maximize the experience of Tokyo Disney Resort 👍

Pros - Location is within Disneysea. Nothing can beat that. Cons - 1) Unreliable WiFi. Barely works in the 2 day I stay. The reality is that for a 5 stay hotel, the IT Hardware and Software infrastructure to support the WiFi is poor. For the price paid, this is a great minus. 2) This is a resort hotel. If you did not book any of the 3 restaurants beforehand for dinner even during weekend days, it is full. Even room service will be at least an hour wait. For the price paid, it is as if I have to suffer for the lack of dining space for a Disney hotel that is surprised on the crowd they have to cater. Pretty pathetic 3) Rooms are dated. Nothing interesting to be a Disney hotel room to be honest. It’s a 3 stay hotel standard. 4) I have 2 power charge for my devices. 1 was missing. Not sure how it can be missing. It was in the room when we left and it is missing after we came back. For now, I prefer to use the word missing for benefit of doubt and let the hotel to sort it out All in all - The hotel is not worth the price. I think the hotel management is too complacent on the fact that the hotel is always fully booked within 30 seconds on a 3 months rolling basis. Good on you but I can assure you that the more people stay and get such an unmatched experienced on price and experience the more resentment there will be to Disney overall. Nonetheless, I must give credit to the staff. They tried their utmost to provide the level of service expected. It is the hotel hardware and infrastructure that is poorly managed and maintained.

This is probably my last review of MiraCosta, at least for a while. Sorry if I have too many reviews, but I liked this hotel too much, and hope to give a summary of every room I stayed. This time I stayed in 2 room types I didn't before. I said I will be back, so I am back again in Aug, after my last stay in Jul. But this is a bit unexpected trip which by luck I see a Habagra available on the official website - I booked it immediately and bought a plane ticket for it.. The Terrace Room Harbor Grand View is the dream room for me, and it makes my journey complete. It has perfect view of the believe show - good angle and close to the show, can see the projections on the hotel wall (the scene of Miguel and when Elsa comes out the projections are wow!), and the terrace itself also has good projection (see photos). Compared to the Terrace Room Harbor View we stayed last time, I think the main difference is the fence is thinner for Habagra, which makes it easier and closer to the show and the park (this is cool and if there is choice I will chose Habagra over Terrace Room Harbor View). But I am not that touched this time - perhaps I am already shocked and touched when seeing the believe show last time at Terrace Room Harbor View.. The Superior Room Harbor View is cool too - I think it is very similar to the Superior Room Piazza Grand View we stayed last time. Good view of the show (but through a window.. I did watch the show within the park and if you can get a place close to the harbor, it would be better in the park), but this time the believe show is cancelled mid-way. I think this is one big consideration in booking MiraCost hotel - in my various stays the believe show had been cancelled totally at least 3 times. Having said that, these harbor view rooms are still good to feel stay connected to the park even after the park closes. As many mentioned in their reviews, views would be the most important part of the experience, and to be honest I didn't care too much about other things (like when I booked the hotel, the website says there is luggage delivery to Maihama station but this is cancelled when we arrived, and this time the one delivering the breakfast to my room hasn't even asked whether to put the breakfast in the terrace, and some other glitches.. which I don't care much). Last but not least, thank you Shin-san and Sugio-san for your all help. It was nice seeing you both (and learnt Sugio-san got a very nice name). This makes my journey really complete.

This is my second stay at MiraCosta in a few months, which again gave my family unforgettable wonderful memories. The staff, room and location are all perfect and compliment the park experience perfectly. I would like to especially thank Shin-san (Ms Shin) at the lounge (Salone dell'Amico) for taking care of my family during our stay. In addition, every staff (lounge, front desk, bell service, housekeeping, restaurant) we met was helpful and smiling, and we could feel the Disney magic continues. This time we stayed at superior room (piazza grand view), balcony room (piazza view) and terrace room (harbor view). - The superior room (piazza grand view) was very close to the harbor and I think can watch the believe show nicely, although the window could be considered a bit too small for a large family to watch. - The balcony room (piazza view) is on the second floor, which was very nice and I felt I was still in the park even I went back to the room. When watching the harbor shows, this room is behind another balcony room (harbor view) so the guests of that room (and also the large speakers at the park) will block part of the view. But still I think this room is good to watch show because it is so close to the harbor (and it has balcony). I stayed at hababal last time, which was too far away from the harbor compared to this room. - The terrace room (harbor view) was perfect, definitely the best room I ever stayed in my life (although it is expensive and accommodates only 4 ppl max). In terms of watching the shows (believes and the character greetings), this room is way better than any room I stayed so far in this hotel (although the other rooms I stayed were already very good to watch show). I was really touched when watching the believe show from this room. It also has jacuzzi and offers breakfast at terrace. Check-in at the lounge did take longer time than Toy Story hotel and Disneyland hotel (concierge room) which we also stayed, but my family can enjoy the lounge during check-in. I consider the check in as part of the hotel experience as the staff was so nice and trying to make sure everything works well for my family. The rooms didn't have anything malfunctioning (never had anything malfunction in all my stays at MiraCosta), and I think the sound proof was very good (between the neighbouring rooms or the corridor). MiraCosta doesn't offer USB charger for the time being (Toy Story and Disneyland Hotel offer that), but this is a small thing (just a bit inconvenience). I only used the BellaVista lounge (not tried other restaurant) as the included breakfast for speciale room, and the staff, the food and the view were all very good (even had special dishes like seafood soup in the morning). We had breakfast at the terrace in one morning, which was a very special and fulfilling experience (although the food was set meals which cannot compare to the breakfast at BellaVista lounge, and it gets quite hot at the terrace later in the morning).
