Hotel Austral Ushuaia

The breakfast and coffee were terrible. The room flooring was uneven in the some part it wobbled when walking. Also the shower water was not draining fast so it became a pool.

I was very impressed with the customer service at the hotel - they provided a very detailed overview of the different activities available in the area, together with very fair pricing and lots of other relevant information. They also helped me make all the activity bookings, taxi bookings and got me dairy-free milk when I requested it for my intolerances.

Hotel Austral is such a charming accommodation in the heart of Ushuaia, Argentina! This is a small hotel with excellent Argentinian hospitality and 5⭐ service. The location is great... just one block up from the main street, San Martin, where the shops, restaurants and museums are. It is also within walking distance to the port where you can take boat cruises to the Penguin Island on the Beagle Channel and where cruise ships to the Antarctica are docked. Taxi to the Martial Glacier costs about ARS1500 (USD5) one way and is about 15 to 20 minutes away from the hotel. The staff are all pleasant and helpful. Reception staff are english speaking. Special thanks to Araceli for all the food and tour suggestions. My room is spacious, bright, spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. I love the small dainty accents in the room. The bed and pillows are so soft and comfortable. I can say I had the best sleep in my whole 12 days in Argentina in Hotel Austral! Breakfast is basic but tasty and filling. Ham, cheese slices, fruits, sandwiches, croissants and other breads are not displayed but can be ordered at the breakfast counter. I just hope they can adjust the breakfast time to earlier than 7:30am because some tours pick up as early as 7am. Hotel also sells souvenir items at cheaper prices compared to shops on San Martin Street. I got myself some cute ref magnets. Thank you for a wonderful first time in Ushuaia! The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Our stay in Ushuaia was made that much better by them. The location is great. Close to everything you’d want to see. Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel.

A little off the main street, the hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and treated me like family.

Perfect place to stay in Ushuaia. Close to everything-restaurants, groceries, laundry and shopping. Reservation was easy, excellent communicatio from hotel and easy check-in and check-out process. Rooms have basic accomodations. Nothing fancy but it isalways the staff and management that makes the difference. Eceryone was helpful, accomodating and friendly. Highly recommended hotel in Ushuaia.
