I have stayed in this hotel quite a number of times and consistently the quality of my stay has been high. This time was no exception. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room and the bathroom were spotless and had everything I needed. The WiFi was complimentary and worked really well. The signal was strong and stable. There was one thing that I'd like to see changed though. You need to register every day, but the login process is confusing. After you've agreed to the terms and conditions and clicked on the button to get the free WiFi, another window pops up and it wants to know things from you. This is however not needed to sign up for the WiFi and seems to be purely for marketing purposes. By clicking on the right link, you can skip it. The room was not all that large, but the space was definitely adequate. There was more than enough space for my clothes and other things. The water boiler plus complimentary tea and coffee was convenient, just as the very large safety deposit box that easily fit my 15” laptop, plus other belongings. The work desk was small and especially with a regular chair, not suitable to work at for a longer period of time. The TV was small and had a limited set of channels, but that was not so relevant for me. A detail, but really useful, is that there are sufficient power outlets and at the right place. This makes it very easy to charge your devices. The bathroom was on the small side, but fully functional and the water pressure from the showerhead was more than sufficient. Only minor thing that I've noticed in the past too, is that it requires some engineering creativity to keep the showerhead in the right position. This should definitely be improved. It is annoying and unnecessary. Last, but not at all least, was the breakfast buffet. I really enjoyed it. This is mostly a continental style buffet, but with an amazing amount of choices, including various types of fresh and very tasty breads, yoghurts, fruits, cheeses, juices, cereal, etc. This is a great example to other hotels how to serve a healthy, yet delicious breakfast.

I spent three nights at the Hotel Regence, Aachen, in March 2024. I took a Queen Room on the fourth floor, which was fine for a short break. The multi-lingual staff were excellent, attentive, engaged and professional. Although the hotel does not offer an evening restaurant service, the staff recommended an Italian restaurant in town for supper. The hotel breakfast buffet was superb. Wifi is available throughout the hotel. I would happily stay in this hotel again.

Surrounded by lawns and tall trees this restaurant is in a building with a sober but beautiful architecture that once belonged to a spa. The complex holds an important center of congresses. The food is very well done, with good quality products and the collaborators are professional and polite. For instance the waitress behave very correctly with respect to a small incident that occurred with one of the desserts. The relation price - quality is adequate. This is a good option to avoid that majority of restaurants selling unhealthy food. There is a private car parking. We intend to return in our next travel to Aachen, a town that is in our hearts.

I stayed here, with my brothers, for 4 nights/5 days to meet up with 2 other brothers and family/friends. We had an excellent stay, made even better by the service of Nina and Marcus who were very, very helpful, friendly and NOTHING was ever a bother, especially Nina. They are an absolute assett to this hotel and I hope the hotel recognise this. Everything else within the hotel, including staff, accomodation and facilities were great. In een prachtig gebouw een prima en royale economykamer gehad. Goede douchefaciliteiten. De medewerkers aan de receptie zijn voorkomend. Gevraagd om een waterkoker en kregen toen meteen de vraag of we ook bekertjes en theezakjes wilden. Wij konden vanuit hier weer heerlijk uitgerust verder met de Dutch Mountain Trail.

Service was goed. Kamer compleet. Ontbijt goed verzorgd en ruime keus. Helaas hadden wij de Kamer boven de Irish Pub. Dat is knap waardeloos. Tot 4.00 uur geen oog dicht gedaan. Ondanks ramen dicht ventilator aan, ook geen airco, en was erg warm....Deze kamers boven de pub zouden eigenlijk nuet gebruikt moeten worden......

This is a very nice place and probably we would stay again. It is in a historic building and that comes with certain quirks. The biggest thing to know is it’s not for people who are physically limited. You don’t park near the entrance and there are no elevators to the room. Everything has steps and there is no assistance offered, so unless you get a ground floor room you are toting your bags up the narrow steps. We are fully able so it wasn’t a problem. The grounds are gorgeous and the staff generally very nice and helpful. It’s a bit odd though as it combines high luxury with low frills, such as no help with bags. They seemed a bit understaffed. The food is great but expensive if you dine in. Not unreasonable for the food but high for every day dining. Overall the stay was very good but a bit on the expensive side. One oddity was we wanted to stay an extra night ( we emailed a few weeks ahead and got no reply) and when we inquired as we checked in were told they had a room but they couldn’t book us at the front desk we had go online. We decided to move on.

Excellent! We arrived a little early but it was no bother and we were checked in swiftly by a very kind and professional receptionist; she was very helpful too with a great sense of humour. The rooms are very nice, big and clean and the bathroom is big, with a choice of shower heads and a separate bath. The breakfast buffet offers A LOT of options and I was impressed, it would have been perfect if they’d have served vegetarian sausages but that’s me being incredibly picky. Check out was swift plus you can also check out online or leave your keys in a drop box. There is ample parking and the location is very good as you are just off the motorway between Belgium and Germany. We booked directly with them so they offered us a little treat which was super nice. I thoroughly recommend this hotel; the parking, rooms and staff are very, very good!

Bastion hotels zal ik zeker niemand aanraden, wat hier gebeurd is ver onder de maat dit zowel in beleid als in service als in kundigheid personeel. Mij overkwam het volgende: Ik woon in Zoetermeer en kreeg voor het weekend het bericht dat mijn vader plots overleden was. De uitvaart zou op dinsdagmiddag zijn. Ik ging op zoek naar een hotel om dinsdag te overnachten omdat na de uitvaart nog een familiediner gepland stond. Op het internet zag ik op de site van Bastion staan dat als je een kamer via een andere site goedkoper aangeboden ziet worden je de eerste nacht gratis kreeg. Nu ik inderdaad een goedkopere prijs zag was het voor mij een goed idee hier gebruik van te maken om zo al op de maandag naar Heerlen af te reizen. Geprobeerd e.e.a. te verifiëren maar Bastion had alleen een nummer voor doordeweekse dagen en ik moest beslissen. Hierop heb ik het filiaal gebeld en de situatie uitgelegd (dat ik voor de crematie van mijn vader kwam) en alléén naar dit hotel zou willen als ik de dag eerder gratis kon verblijven. De receptie vertelde dat ze het ging navragen en ik zou teruggebeld worden. Expliciet gevraagd om mij dit zondag en uiterlijk maandag ochtend vroeg te laten weten. Maar ik hoorde niets en belde het hotel (waar je heel lang in de wacht staat, ook al is er geen bezetting) Ik zei dat ik niets had gehoord en nu moest gaan rijden en sprak af dat ik ter plaatse wel zou horen of het nu akkoord was en anders elders mijn intrek zou nemen. Eenmaal aangekomen was er een zeer vriendelijke receptioniste die ik vertelde dat ik niets had gehoord maar alleen zou blijven als ik gebruik kon maken van de actie. Dit was geen enkel probleem er werd een notitie gemaakt, dat ik a) betaald had en b) ik twee nachten zou blijven. “So far so good”….. Maar het werd een drama, de eerste avond met honger naar bed. Ik had in de middag de menu kaart al gevraagd (forse prijzen) en liet mijn oog vallen op iets waar ik echt trek in kreeg: Oma’s gehaktballen geserveerd met gekookte aardappels en verse groenten van de dag. Na wat familie bezoek het restaurant van het hotel bezocht. De dame in de bediening vroeg mij of ik wat wilde drinken. Ik vroeg welke rode huiswijn er geschonken werd wellicht kon ik kiezen tussen een Merlot of een Cabernet o.i.d. “We hebben zoete rode wijn “was het antwoord van de dame in de bediening. Ik zei dat ik dat absoluut niet dronk “wilt u dan een zure wijn “was tot mijn ontsteltenis haar antwoord… toen ik zei “ik wil graag een droge “keek ze me meewarig aan en beende naar de bar, bekeek een paar aangebroken flessen waar ze kennelijk zelf ook geen vertrouwen in had. Vervolgens dook ze in een kast en toverde daar twee flessen uit en schonk een glas in, en eerlijk gezegd bleek het een zeer acceptabele huiswijn. Toen bestelde ik de gehaktballen (van Oma) en vroeg wat de dag verse groente waren, dit zou broccoli worden en ik vroeg expliciet of het geserveerd werd met gekookte aardappelen, daar ik geen zin had in friet die ik om me heen op de borden z

The grounds and buildings of this property are breathtakingly beautiful, like a film set that could never be real. The staff exude an air of formal, graceful professionalism. The surrounding region (drive the rural route to Val Dieu abbey) is comprised of mile after mile of impossibly beautiful agrarian hills and valleys dotted with perfect little towns like Teuven. There is a quiet restaurant and bar at the Chateau but the town of Valkenberg just up the street has a collection of livelier bars and restaurants. The buffet breakfast on the property is excellent. Visitors accustomed to the speed and sharp edges of modern life will need to adjust here. Time seems to move more slowly. Our rooms were gigantic, bigger than many apartments and the attached patio overlooked an orchard. The small kitchen had an oven/microwave, electric range and small refrigerator. The furnishings, however, were from another era. They were in pristine condition and comfortable and staying in the room was a step back in time by about a century. Not a complaint at all. Miles of nature and cycling trails start and end from the chateau that apparently sits within a wildlife preserve. The region appears to be a hub for competitive cycling and roads leading in all directions are calling to be ridden. Stay here, breathe the fresh air, wander through the trails and art installations. Turn down the speed of life. Don’t expect to come here for a dance club, fitness center or urban experience of any kind.
