Hotel berhampiran Maison Dupré-Latour, Valence

A good located hotel for travellers crossing France, rooms are clean and functional, but that’s it. Reception is a one man show, running across area, attending phone and in between receiving check in guests. Restaurant as a mass distribution of food, loud, unreal and large, no love to detail. Employees are doing their work, but attitude and guest welcoming is a word of an other universe. At last we paid 214 € for a double room with breakfast and 85€ for a dinner, served with no attention and a lack of attention. Unfortunate.

We had stayed here once before, so when our first choice hotel near Grenoble baled on us with only three days’ notice, we needed something quickly for a two night stay near the Vercors, so this was an obvious choice. The weather was very hot, and we recalled that the aircon here was fabulous. That was still true, as was our recollection that the rooms are functional and a little small – just about OK for two nights, but nothing more. The hotel is also very well placed for motorway and main road connections, so that was a plus. Our main gripe was the food. Breakfast is a very good buffet but the evening meal has lost it’s a la carte option from our last visit and now offers a three course meal for around €30 with very limited choices for each course. On night one, we chose a salad starter which was OK and I moved on to pork, also OK, while my wife chose steak, which was very tough and verging on the inedible. We raised this with the waiter who informed us that we were unlucky and it must just be a problem with that particular slice as their meat was chosen to be the highest quality (and given the menu price it ought to be). To be fair we were asked if we wanted something else, but I had finished my main by now and my wife had salvaged enough from the steak to make the idea of her eating the pork (which she didn’t want) on her own not really desirable. Given the limited main course choices, we asked if the menu would change the next night and were reassured to hear that it would be completely different. It wasn’t. Only two out of nine things had changed and none of the mains had. We thought about going elsewhere but nowhere else is within a short walk (and we couldn’t be sure if it would be better). So we both had the pork. Meantime on the next table we noticed a guy hacking away at this steak without getting very far. He must have had an unlucky slice as well. So, the rooms are fine, the aircon is brilliant, breakfast is good and its conveniently placed. So follow my advice. Stay one night only and don’t choose steak.

The hotel is a rather new building located near a series of roundabouts near the motorway. It provides parking, which was much appreciated. The reception had the usual Ibis basic look, plasticky but clean enough. Our room on the fourth floor was the usual tiny room this type of hotel provides, basic beds, tiny shelves, and a teeny, tiny rack to hang a couple of jackets, instead of a wardrobe, and in the bathroom only one flimsy towel that you can use to dry your face and your a*s after the shower. The staff was friendly enough but when my husband asked how to regulate the airco, because the room was coldish, the receptionist told him the airco doesn't work because ”people complain it's too hot or too cold so they switched it off” which was a weird answer. She gave him a blanket to deal with the cold, but the blanket was dirty and quite disgusting (photo attached). We had breakfast in the hotel for which we paid 7,50 € because we did not have time to look for another restaurant and needed to get on our way ASAP. If it wasn't for the disgusting blanket I would have given them a 3, because everything here is average, but the blanket was a major downer.

Pomyłka ze strony osoby zarządzającej obiektem odnośne opłat za pobyt. Pokoje zostały opłacone w formie przedpłaty, czyli do opłacenia został tylko podatek miejski. Pomyłka przy recepcji skutkowała ponownym pobraniem opłat za pokoje. Odkręcanie tego z rana to prawie godzina i brak zadowalającego skutku, ponieważ zabrakło osoby decyzyjnej. Pokój był na tyle mały, że przechodząc z jednej strony łóżka na drugą zahacza się o telewizor wiszący na ścianie.

Meine bisherigen Erfahrungen mit Premiere Class sind durchwachsen. Das Frühstück war meist recht unappetitlich. Warum übernachte ich dann überhaupt hier. Ganz einfach: der Preis ist ein Schnäppchen. Das Hotel ist fast neu und schon ganz schick. Es gibt einen Aufzug und einen großen Parkplatz. Man kann auch draußen sitzen. Wer Steaks liebt, hat eine reiche Auswahl an Restaurants (Foto). Das Hotel liegt nicht an der A7 und auch abgelegen. Mit dem Personal war ich nicht so zufrieden. Man hat mir die doppelte Kurtaxe abgeknüpft.
