Noisy room if you stay in 1st floor as the bar just below and close at 0200. Besides that, great location and valued for money.

This hostel was incredibly bad. The building is old and not clean. The bathroom is not enough. There are two toilets and two shower rooms per floor. In addition, there is not enough space. There are no rooms to put on and take off clothes. The shower rooms are too small. Anyway, the worst thing is noise. I stayed on first floor. There is a bar on the ground floor. And they play music so loud till 3 am almost every day! I felt I was in the club. It was super noisy and I couldn’t sleep at all. I booked this hostel for five nights, however I cancelled it immediately. Fortunately, I could receive the refund. The only good thing is that there are very adorable cats.

The hostel is old, with creaky wooden floors, and felt dirty throughout. For the price they charge, it’s way too expensive for what you get. Wouldn’t stay here again.

It would have been really important to mention that they have cats. You know. To someone like me who is very allergic to cats. I have emergency medication for this kind of BS. I was there one night but I would have rebooked if was not way too late. 1 night of sleepless wheezing misery. Without the allergy thing, the rooms were hot and airless. People were leaving the doors open and using fans to blow around the cat dander, I mean air. It's not safe to leave doors open, but that's the guests. The ladder for the top bunk (bunkbed) had one side not covered. It's sharp metal and easy to cut yourself on. These issues are not hard to fix, hopefully they can improve, since that location is perfect for walking to and from concerts. Hey if you love cats, still be careful, this neighbourhood can be dangerous.

It was really good location and they were so nice. Overall it was nice stay, but there’s no AC and elevator so u should bite that.

This place was a disaster from start to finish. The room was dirty, the bunks offered zero privacy—no curtains or dividers for either the top or bottom beds—and everything just felt cramped and neglected. Every time someone came into the room, the door made this loud creaking, slamming noise that jolted you awake like a fire alarm. The stairs were covered in dust and grime, the toilet was filthy, and clearly hygiene isn’t anywhere on the staff’s priority list. As if that wasn’t enough, there's a bar downstairs that plays music until late morning. The noise was nonstop—thumping bass, shouting, laughter—like trying to sleep through a concert. I barely got a wink of rest. For what you pay, this place is completely overpriced. There’s no comfort, no cleanliness, and no quiet. Just avoid this place. Trust me—you can do much better.

The pantry place might need to more cleanup as too many people are using there.

I am happy to have stayed here. The location is very vibrant — thanks in large part to the hostel’s bar and its ridiculously good happy hour — and the rooms are cozy. It is enjoyable to be in such a historic hostel. The exorbitant charge for a towel is my only major gripe, but the place gets bonus points for having two cool cats! Would gladly stay again.

I am not really into hostels but my experience at Cambie was great that I would consider staying again. Location was a block from the steam clock and they had an awesome bar and restaurant located downstairs. Great way to meet people.

Location is in downtown. Walking distance for shopping, eating, and public transport. Room is good.  The staffs are humble. Bar is downstair and guest can get discount. We could hear the noise from outside till 3-4am.

Great place to stay. Room 102 the best. This place right in big tourist street
