Hotel Shanti Palace

We didn't stay here but we spent alot of time in the roof top restaurant. The best rooftop in varanasi!!!! Stunning views of the ganges, Good food, friendly service & the best cold coffee!! We will definitely be back at some point. Thank you for the service. Hannah, Katie & Lynn (twins & mum)

Overall a pleasant stay, rooftop view is great, staff are friendly, and the location provides easy access to the Ganges. My only complaint was that the toilet paper and hand soap was never replenished during our entire stay, the bathrooms also smelt a little.

What an amazing hostel. The staff is friendly, the chiefs on the rooftopbar cook you outstanding meals and last but not least, the hostel is so clean. Furthermore, if there is one thing you must do Varanasi it is the city tour with Truth. What an amazing tour guide and a very very humble person. He knows everything about the vibrant and gives your excellent advise for planning the rest of your trip in this beautiful country.

We had a really nice experience there and felt really welcome at this rooftop restaurant. The view over the Gange was incredible and it is one of the only places on the Ghats that offers beer. Simply order the Green Tea and wink at the same time. 😜 Anup (on the pic) made us feel very special and looked after us genuinely.

The dirtiest Hostel have ever been is Backpackers Park. The bedsheet, linen were stained. Constant stuffy and dingy smell in the room. Shower room and wash room stinks beyond anyone’s tolerance. Practically no ventilation in rooms or bathroom, no windows. The approach road to Hostel is very narrow and dirty lanes. One will have to lugged their Bagpack/suitcase atleast for 15-25 mins from main road, where auto/taxi will drop off. The reception staff was very indifferent. Permanent connectivity issues with Hostel wifi. Only one + point is view from there rooftop cafe. Food is average. Care staff is more interested in serving beer. Overall 1/2 star out of 5.

We had a really lovely stay at the Backpacker’s Park in Varanasi. The location is amazing - right next to the main Ghats. The rooftop restaurant has a spectacular view and good food for a decent price. The staff hooked us up with some amazing boat rides and provided many more tips on Varanasi. I would highly recommend Backpacker’s Park for any young travellers looking for the real Varanasi experience - a very magical place.

The food in roofhill restaurant is very nice! The view is amazing and the vibe is very nice! I will definitely be coming back here. Thanks a lot guys for the great times here! Will be missing the food alot!

The view, hosts, and service were all great. Perhaps most important, the food was absolutely delicious! I will definitely return to this place. We cleaned our plates completely. The beer was delicious too - my first Indian beer!
