We spent 3 nights at the hotel during our recent trip around India. The hotel is situated on the banks of the Ganges, “in the middle of the action”, with ***y of the important sites within a few minutes’ walk. This is great for visiting, but severely restricts access to the hotel – it is impossible for motorised transport to reach the building, so arriving guests are collected from one of two ghats by boat. In good visibility this means there is a superb view of the river bank and hotel even before checking in. It is a small hotel, very atmospheric, well furnished and equally well ***aged by its staff, who provided us with very good service. Afternoon tea, served on the terrace overlooking the river, and featuring various options of henna painting, pottery and astrology is not to be missed. Due to its location, the hotel restaurant serves only vegetarian food, and is alcohol free. The hotel is up-front about this, and the food was very good. One downside is the view from the rooms, as only a few of them, not including ours, have a river view. Overall the stay was very good, although expensive, but the price reflects the position of the hotel, and for this reason it represents good value for its easy access to the various religious sites

Exceptional and a very special hotel right on the banks of the holy Ganges river, a ston's throw from the famous Dashashwamedh Ghat. The hotel is in a meticulously restored 200+ year old royal palace. The staff is outstanding and super friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant is all vegetarian and delicious, with wonderful service. Our room was on the 3rd floor with a large terrace with views just outside. Rooms are decent sized, well-appointed, and with nice bathrooms. A great buffet style breakfast is included as well as a 'high tea' between 4:15 and 5:15 pm with live sitar music. There is a complimentary 'Kathak' dance recital every evening. A complimentary boat ride at 5:30 pm to see the 'Ganga arti' is included.

The palace is amazing, we went for palace and had a great 180° view of Ganges. Not only the food but also the love they serve with food was amazing. Priyanshi and Ravi were great at your job. Special mention to Abhilash for all the assistance and guidance. It was a great cake chef Arif !! Your stories are amazing Krishna !!!

OASIS IN THE MIDDLE OF A DEEP, CULTURAL AND SPIRITUAL PLACE. This hotel is an old palace. It's got rock, solid bones and character. Everywhere you go. The standard rooms are not large, but comfortable. The bathrooms are beautiful in full marble. the positioning is just perfect right next door to the daily ceremonial shows and not far from the cremation sites being right on the river. You have amazing views up and down the Ganges breakfast on the rooftop is absolutely special. It brings you back to a time of kings and Queens being served by Staff. This is the only place to stay in Varanasi if you want to be submerged into the culture and treated like a king or a queen.

What an exceptional experience. The hotel is beautiful. The staff, so attentive and kind. Khushi at the reception and Sameer adjusting all of our train and traveling, Ravi was so attentive and joyful to us each evening in the restaurant. The hotel arranged tours for us with Shiva- this tour guide made our experience even more meaningful - a more personal time. And Priyanka…the beautiful wo*** who created the henna for me. Such love and Grace. We truly enjoyed every aspect of our stay here.

Beautiful, experiential and opulent stay. Khushi, bhupesh ji, Bikash made stay beautiful. I might be forgetting ***y names but the hospitality was too good. Teamwork was fabulous. Loved the panchmel Daal. Banarasi thalli was exceptional and the presentation was flawless. The boating staff sonu, satish and Bablu were very hospitable. The complimentary boat service was too good. Banarasi paan at night was brilliant. We got complimentary Arti access at brilliant location being Brijrama guest. I loved every bit of stay. The view, aura and feeling is unbelievable. Property has everything activity, yoga have one day extra to just soak in the property... The breakfast spread though was limited but curd was too good. And banrasi kachori was too good. Our dream of eating Chaat of Govindji though remained dream. May be next time 😁...beautiful hotel. No complains only compliments....
