This elegant 18th century building is where we will welcome you in a sumptuous setting combining history, charm, gastronomy and comfort.
The property was built circa 1715, during Frances early Regency period. The most notorious individual within these four walls was, of course, the Marquis de Sade and his Family. His father and his uncle, the well-known Abbe de Sade, were both born in this place.
Although he spent most of his life in Paris, it was there in the Chateau de Mazan, in 1772, that the Marquis organized the very first Theatre Festival in France. The plays in which he personally performed were shown on both Mazan and Lacoste castles.
During the Revolution, Sade was declared persona non grata in Mazan, the Family archives were destroyed and the Chateau was damaged. After the Revolution, the Chateau remained Sades Family property until 1850. Its use has varied from this date. Initially it was a private residence and later the Chateau played host to a religious school. In 1923, it became Mazan old people house which finally closed in 1999.
In early 2001, the Chateau was turned into a hotel. The Elegant Property Collection Team bought it in August 2019 and started a full renovation of the property to restore its magnificent setting.
From April 10th 2020, this historical place will reopen for the enjoyment of our guests and offering an authentic historical experience in the heart of Provence.
The property, situated in the heart of the Village, has 31 rooms divided in the main building and in an old house (dated back 1695) facing it.
Renovated in 2019/2020, the decoration has returned at the origins of the Chateau de Mazan and Louis XV style with a contemporary Provence touch.
A special attention have been brought to the garden which has recovered its original setting.
Respect of the History, elegance and refinement, Provence spirit are the keys of what the property offers.

This is a beautiful hotel that unfortunately falls far short. It is eye watering to stay here and we booked it as a really lovely treat. The service was terrible. The front desk got the check in time wrong and we couldn’t access our room when we arrived, there was 0 service around the pool despite being told you could order a drink there. I had to go into the hotel to find someone, and the person I was directed to to order from didn’t know the drinks menu in either English or in French so it was a nightmare trying to order anything and the poor girl seemed completely put on the spot by the front desk. The breakfast is far too expensive for what is a serve yourself buffet (it cost over €40 for 2 people to have a coffee and a croissant). We left our pool towels in our room when we checked out only to be told we had to go and get them and that for some unknown reason they couldn’t just be sent to the laundry with the rest of the items up there. It took 20 minutes to check out as there was only one member of staff at the desk. The carpark (which is €15 a day) is barely accessible due to a ramp that almost takes the front off of your car. We have a VW camper so if you have anything that sits lower you won’t get it in the carpark. It cost over €300 to stay here for one night and we didn’t feel like the stay came close to any sort of value. The only good thing about it was the pool is lovely and so was the room. Honestly, book somewhere else where you’ll get value for money.

My wife and I were traveling in Provence with a rental car. Initially I booked at this hotel for its easy access with parking, more than anything else, as the last thing I want is to navigate the narrow alleys in southern France small city centers. However, our experience at the hotel has exceeded expectation in every single aspect. Our rental car broken down soon after arriving at the hotel, needless to say, it gave us A LOT of trouble dealing with car rental/towing service. Multiple reception staff members (3-4 of them in total, on day of arrival/next day) gave us so much help (helping call the car rental company in french, holding car key/waiting for mechanic to show up, suggesting solutions, etc.). Deeply grateful. Location of hotel itself is great too, easily walkable to the small city. Initially was a little worried about the hotel sitting right next to a round-about, but traffic was actually light. Not much noise from the road at all. Room size is adequate, with all necessary amenities. May not be luxurious, but certainly comfortable. For the price, location, and service provided, I don't have any complaint at all. Breakfast is wonderful, especially with freshly made house-made pastries. They are superb, especially considering we have stayed at many high-end hotels in France including multiple palace hotels in Paris. The croissants may not beat the ones we had at Plaza Athenee or Ritz Paris, let's say, but they are pretty close in quality and thus more delicious than many other big-name 5-star hotels/vineyard chateau/resorts in Paris or Bordeaux or Provence region. To summarize, the location, the comfort, the breakfast/service are all excellent, and above all, the service has been exceptional. Especially considering its price tag, it provides unbeatable value. We would certainly stay here again if we ever visit L'isle Sur-La-Sorgue again.

We spent two nights as part of a Secret Escapes deal. We stayed in room 25 which is a park room on the ground floor with a pretty terrace overlooking the interior garden. It looked and felt like a mini villa. Very spacious. Large king size bed. External and internal table and seating. Dressing table, fridge, tea coffee facilities and safe. Loads of storage and large bathroom with shower. Pool area was also very nice as well and opens early so you can swim before breakfast. Also heated. Great selection at breakfast too where you can eat on the terrace as well. The hotel is next to a primary school so during the day during term time you can hear the kids playing. It did not disturb us at all, it sounded like they were having a great time! Great hotel and would recommend.

Stayed at this hotel for a week recently. The hotel is situated between the train station and bus station in Avignon. The vicinity of the hotel is fairly ugly and there appears to be a long-term building site to the front and in front of the train station. So every time you walk into town you have to walk through this building site. As some have already written, it is not great after dark, with some dubious characters hanging around and it is surprisingly very dark considering it is so close to the station. The hotel itself is unusual as you have to get a lift up to the reception floor although this is where the lift ends, so bear that in mind if you have a room on a higher floor. The rooms are quite small although they are cleaned to a high standard and the bathroom is good. The windows are well-insulated so no noise from outside from the trains or traffic. The restaurant is small and we were often told that it was full up until about 9pm because a group was dining there, so unfortunately still had to walk into town to eat so you cannot rely on the hotel restaurant. There are a few restaurants of variable quality within ten minutes walk, but a longer walk about twenty minutes up to the main square although again these are mainly overpriced tourist restaurants rather than local French ones. Overall, the hotel is in a good position to do daytrips by train to Nimes, Arles and Orange. Avignon itself you can see in about a day.

I stayed for two night and it was overall satisfying stay. The room is clean enough and i liked the bedroom and living room was separated. It was spacious enough to open the suitcases on the floor. There was only one set of towel for two people but when I requested housing lady gave me quickly. I also requested late check out and it was 20 euro per hour and only available until 2pm. But when I called the reception the guy told me it is 15 euros. I had to pay with my card not cash because of the wrong information. But it was good stay and I would like to visit again next time.

Nous avons passe 4 jours a Apt pour un sejour velo. L'hotel est situe juste a cote de la veloroute du Cavalon, et de l'office du tourisme. L'hotel possede un local protegeou garer les velos en securite. L'equipe est sympathique et fournit beaucoup de conseils touristiques et pratiques. Les suites sont bien equipees et permettent de cuisiner des repas rapides si vous ne souhaitez pas aller diner au restaurant, ou si la fringale attaque apres une longue randonnee a velo. Le petit dejeuner est tout a fait bien garni, avec un excellent pain d'une boulangerie voisine.

We stayed here for 3 nights,and we received Cambre del Maestro at first floor. This Mas is part of Les Collectionneurs and entering here seems like you are home or in your very good friend’s home. Everything is authentic and well positioned, in a peacefull place, just over the street there is a meadow where there were two white horses( like a story…). We also had a elegant bathroom with all amenities, very clean. The single minus was that there was not a little fridge in the room - the weather was so hot-but Mara helped us by keeping some beer and water in them fridge. This Mas has a wonderful yard with a large swimming pool, with and amazing view of Falaise de la Madeleine, pool beds, umbrellas. Breakfast is so “french” : different kind of bread, croissants, different kind of confiture, butter, fruits, cakes, yogurt and -the most important- a very good coffee. We also had the possibility to make tea, coffee all day long, we found limonade at swimming pool, water, etc. Everything was excellent , the owners Mara and Jerome are very kind and helpful. We mad enew friends : Jango and Shippy - the dog and the cat - the real owners of Mas aux Cedre. I recommand staying here and for sure we’ll come back.

The staff was friendly, and we really appreciate the bottle of rose and olive oil as presents to celebrate our anniversary. The room size was petite, but it is on par with the hotel rooms we stayed in France, although the bathroom here was pretty large. There was a bit of a miscommunication with our to-go breakfast, but it got resolved quickly.

PPengguna TetamuThis was a fantastic location to stay close to Avignon, but with easy parking and spacious rooms. It is secured at night with closed gates, and the rooms look over the golf course.
The host at reception was welcoming and helpful and the rooms were spacious, and well laid out. They are a little tired in terms of decor, which shows in places like the tile grout and wear on benchtops, but it was inexpensive, clean and excellent value for money.
I recommend it and would book it again.

PPengguna Tetamu酒店的一切都挺好，裝修和衛生條件方面都還不錯，但是酒店的前台存在很大的問題。並非指所有前台工作人員，而是前台某一位在2022年晚上10點到晚上11點期間當值的瘦高的中年男士非常粗魯，2022年1月7日晚上10點左右回到酒店的時候發現大門已經關上，於是按鈴，但是前台沒有人，於是多按了幾次，結果過了一會兒當值的那位前台中年瘦高男士罵罵咧咧地來開門，對着作為顧客的我大喊大叫，之後竟然還不依不饒地跟我發生爭論，然後指責作為顧客的我按鈴幾乎吵醒了整棟酒店（第二天跟前台另一位工作人員反映這個情況之後，工作人員表示按鈴衹是在前台和工作人員隨身攜帶的電話機上有顯示，而奇怪的是，昨晚在按鈴的同時並沒有聽到那位工作人員有通過電話機讓我稍微等一下，所以我才會多按了幾次鈴）。後來我表達這位工作人員的態度讓我感到很不舒服，而且這種大喊大叫的行為像是在對待一個**，這位工作人員回答“是的，就是在對待一個**”。綜上，已經不是按鈴這件事情這麼簡單了，這位工作人員的職業素養，還有待人接物明顯地不符合酒店工作人員應該具備的，並且麪對不同的客人明顯感覺出了種族歧視，已經投訴，正在等着酒店方面給出回應。想着預定這家酒店的顧客請一定三思而後行，如果遇到那位瘦高中年男士可能會讓人感到極度地不舒服。

It is a charming boutique hotel in an old building located about a five-minute walk from the train station in one direction and also an easy to walk to all of the main sites. I chose to stay there a second time because Frederic and the staff are so kind, attentive, and meticulous. They are very helpful and take wonderful care of you. The rooms are kept clean and well maintained, and the breakfast room is well-stocked and provides a pleasant, cozy place to eat in the morning. I also love their house cats in the lobby and the pleasant conversations each day. I highly recommend the Hotel Boquier.

Service good but not 24 hours so need to contact in advance to get checked in. Only thing to my surprise is the bath place is the smallest ever used at approx 45x45 I guess. Hardly to turn or bend. No way to take kid for shower together. Not like hotels, here Luggage storage costs 1 Euro.

PPengguna TetamuThe location is the best asset of this hotel. It's right next to the Palais de Papes and other main attractions in Avignon. Parking is literally in the same building so very convenient. Staff are helpful and kind. However, we found the value to be poor as the room is shockingly small. We get that it is located in an old town and right in the centre, but we come from Paris and even for us we feel the Superior Room is simply too small for the average family. The bathroom is so cramped it feels like showering on a cruise ship bathroom. Also the cleanliness and maintenance leaves much room for improvement. There are very visible signs of wear and tear in the room and throughout the hotel, like stained carpets, dirty towels, peeling corners, broken lamps, layer of dust on the hairdryer and room amenities... It's a perfectly fine hotel to stay overnight to explore the city and surroudning areas but I'd advise against a longer stay.

PPengguna TetamuBonjour à vous qui lisez ces lignes. Concernant cet établissement, je dirais qu’en ce qui concerne sa partie accueil et amabilité, c’est un sans faute. En effet, le personnel, que ce soit au téléphone ou à la réception est agréable et chaleureux. Suite à notre installation, nous remarquons l’état de la chambre qui est tout à fait dans la moyenne, bien que le mobilier n’ai pas été fixé à l’aide d’un niveau. Bonjour aux maux de tête et angoisses pour les perfectionnistes ! Malgré tout, les flexibles de douche fuient et les WC n’arrêtent pas très bien leur remplissage en eau. Dans sa partie animation en revanche, nous n’avons pas été déçu ! En début de soirée, nous participons à la rediffusion d’un télé-crochet avec les voisins de la chambre d’à côté. La finesse des matériaux que l’on conçoit aujourd’hui est tout à fait bluffante ! Enfin bon, vous devez vous dire que je m’égare, et vous auriez raison. En deuxième petite partie de nuit, vers 1h du matin, déclenchement de l’alarme incendie. Chouette, moi qui voulait vivre un séjour riche en émotions, je suis servi. L’évacuation est donc donnée mais mince, pas d’animateur présent à l’extérieur et aucun participant ne souhaite participer à cet événement. Après plusieurs minutes sans nouvelles, et différentes appels à la réception, nous apprenons alors que les clés de l’alarme étaient introuvables, quel bonheur. Au bout de dix minutes l’alerte s’arrête et nous pouvions retourner dans les bras de Morphée. Bien qu’appliqués sur la partie événement, la suite se déroula dans le calme et la sérénité Malgré ce commentaire railleur, l’hôtel propose ce que l’on attend de lui. Un confort et ce au meilleur prix. Quant événements de ce soir là, je suppose, ils restent de nature tout à fait exceptionnel.
