Laaiplek Hotel

Service was very good. Friendly staff. The room was not maintained. Cigarette butts and empty beer bottles at sliding door. The door to the room did not work. You had to lock it to keep it close. The cupboard doors could not close. The hand towel in the bathroom was badly stained. The cord of the roof fan was very flimsy, just a thin string. Your food was exellent.

Enjoyed my stay. Will definitely go again..will recommend it to others.. staff was friendly.everything about the weekend was great. Room nr 7 was the best beautiful view. Sunset was breath taking... Food was great

It was my husband's birthday on the 19 January on our arrival. The welcoming was warm and pleasant. Room was neat and comfortable, however, was looking for a nice view but unfortunately wasn't any, also there wasn't any channels on dish to watch which put me off a bit as there is swimming area available to occupy the hours in the day. But the breakfast was really topnotch and made up for the flaws...our sleep was also very peaceful and the environment was friendly. We will definitely overnight again. Thank you for a weekend that can be added to our memory list.

For the amount per night, it was good value. Staff was friendly and helpfull, breakfast was nice, room was well equiped and clean(aircon or fan would be nice), like the fact that I could braai. Overall we had a very good time. Location is stunning. Sheena was the best, what a stunning lady, from the phone call the morning till the hug when we left was appreciated.

Everything fine. Would recommend that you advertise the museum more. A must visit. We accidentally saw the sign that was hidden in front of the cars at the parking area. This should be advertised at the hotel entrance with pamphlets to hand out to holiday makers. What a gem. We could have spent the day just at the museum. Breakfast was delicious

We stayed at the Laaiplek Hotel for 4 nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful 🙂 The breakfast included was also very nice. We also enjoyed their evening menu. Very affordable and good value for money food. The spare ribs were amazing. My partner had the crumbled pork chop with vegtables

Stay at Laaiplek Hotel (not recommended: some rooms had no keys, bath towels with holes in them, some bath towels had old blood stains on them, floors dusty, hotel dark during loadshedding, even during the day. Staff started cleaning rooms while we were still at breakfast on our last day, and threw away one guest’s tablets, that she was planning to take after breakfast. Seldom found anyone at the reception desk. 2 Christmas Parties on the go when we arrived, very noisy. Fried seafood on the dinner menu & noisy parties, so cancelled dinner bookings & went to Die Vaatjie Taphuis in Port Owen for dinner (good meals, they are not open on Sundays after 2pm).

Room appeared neat and tidy, although a bit sparse. The sheets were stained. We would've appreciated to be informed of the party happening right outside our room till the wee hours, before we booked in. Room is close to kitchen so you hear the banging and clanging before breakfast too. Room was equipped with mini fridge, kettle, cups, and towels. Outside is a picnic table with access to shared braais. Breakfast included was cheese, ham and mushroom omelette with pork sausgae and coffee/tea
