The hotel's location is fantastic! I loved the view of the Danube. Our room's air conditioning wasn't working and it was freezing, so the front desk upgraded us directly to a Black Suite, which was a wonderful surprise! The room was huge! Plus, every day we got three juices and three bottles of water from the mini-bar, which was super nice.

From the moment you step into the Philippe Starck–designed lobby, the hotel feels less like a place to stay and more like an immersive experience. The design is daring yet refined, blending contemporary art, dramatic lighting, and panoramic city views in a way that feels uniquely Viennese and unmistakably SO/. The rooms are stunning: sleek, spacious, and thoughtfully designed with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame Vienna like a living postcard. The beds are exceptionally comfortable, the bathrooms feel spa-like, and every detail—from the lighting controls to the curated minibar—speaks to both style and functionality. Service is where SO/ Vienna truly shines. The staff are warm, intuitive, and genuinely eager to elevate your stay, striking the perfect balance between professionalism and personal care - A couple of named stays in mind : Claudia, Dally, etc… Whether it’s a restaurant recommendation, a special request, or simply a welcoming smile, everything is handled with ease and grace. The location is ideal—steps from the Danube Canal and within easy reach of the historic city center—making it perfect for both exploring Vienna and retreating into a chic urban sanctuary. And the rooftop restaurant and bar? Absolutely unforgettable. The views over the city, especially at sunset, combined with excellent cuisine and cocktails, create a highlight you’ll be talking about long after you leave. SO/ Vienna is not just a hotel; it’s a statement. Perfect for travelers who appreciate design, comfort, and a touch of the extraordinary. I wouldn’t hesitate to return—and to recommend it wholeheartedly.

The restaurant on the 18th floor of the hotel has a beautiful view, but the hotel service needs improvement, and some staff are discriminatory towards Chinese guests. On the first day of check-in, we were given a room with a broken air conditioner. The front desk refused to change it and lied, saying that all rooms had similar AC issues. During dinner at the hotel on the first day, both the waiter taking our order and the host who seated us were very rude.

The hotel's location is super convenient! It's easy to walk to the city center or hop on public transportation to get to attractions. Plus, there's convenient parking right in front of the hotel. The area around the hotel is great too, with lots of restaurants and cafes.

I love the view from my room. The room was nice.

It is expensive but not so impressive. The taste of design was not for me,,, The room is too white also, not so relaxing,,,, But luxury views!

I had a phenomenal experience for such an affordable price! It truly rivals the Sofitel Haikou – I was absolutely blown away! The panoramic city views of Vienna were breathtaking, and the pure white rooms were thoughtfully designed, giving off a distinct Santorini, Greece vibe!

The hotel is perfect in every way, except for the lack of a swimming pool. Its superb location makes it incredibly convenient for getting around. The rooftop restaurant boasts beautiful views, serving a buffet breakfast in the morning and transforming into a bar at night with a fantastic atmosphere.

The service was excellent, and the front desk staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. However, the original room wasn't very clean. After we complained, we were promptly upgraded to a much better room with a superb view, from which we could see St. Stephen's Cathedral. The sauna facilities were new, and the fitness center was very good and well-equipped.

Let's start with the positives: the room view was absolutely stunning, the service was excellent, and the location was great, right on the edge of the old town, which was very convenient. The restaurant was also beautiful. Now for the negatives: Coming back from a sub-zero (feels like -10°C) outdoor temperature at night, I wanted to take a hot shower, but there was only lukewarm water, no hot water at all! And this wasn't just one night, it was for all five nights! The hot water would return to normal in the mornings. The air conditioning also wasn't very effective. Overall feeling: so beautiful, and so cold. It might be better to visit in the summer.

What a magnificent luxury hotel! This was my first time staying at such a high-caliber place. I heard it was even designed by the same architect as the Louvre, which truly impressed me. It's a pity I only stayed one night, as I had evening plans. I really should have spent that evening on the rooftop, enjoying a drink and watching the sunset. And to top it off, I could watch the sunrise right from my room in the morning!

The breakfast was decent, and the views were beautiful. However, even after staying for three nights, our room didn't offer a view of St. Stephen's Cathedral. When we inquired about switching to a room with a view, the Chinese-speaking staff member informed us that it would cost an additional 50 Euros.

The breakfast view is incredible! The bed is a bit too soft for my liking, but the hotel itself is quite modern.

15 to 20 mins walk to tourist area. Expected some walk or ride. But got nice skyline view. The furnitures are generally quite old, dusty inside the wardrobe and hard to slide the window panels. Quite dark inside the room. Junior staff is not helpful and check wrong information in the beginning during check in but then got an asian staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant at the top floor is gd with nice view. Helpful staff and got nice food.
