Schlosshotel Romischer Kaiser

The hotel nestles in a quiet side street a 2 minute walk from St Stephanplatz. The friendly uniformed staff compliment the opulent decorations. The highly polished brass interior of the lift offers a clue to the high standard of the room that awaits you. The bathrooms are decorated tastefully with Versace tiles, well maintained and clean as was the lovely bedroom with its fabric wall coverings and beautiful chandeliers typical of the traditional Viennese style. The windows open onto the narrow cobbled street peppered with a few restaurants of a class that commands peaceful patronisation. Following an extremely restful night on an enormous bed with pillows chosen from the menu, one will descend to the restaurant where a veritable cornucopia of delights await. Coffee and small treats are freely available 24 hours a nice touch. There is no bar but drinks will be brought to the small lounge area should you so desire. This is a hotel of excellent value for money where nothing is too much trouble for the staff. We will return here often. Ian

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and found the staff and location to be exceptional. Down the street from Spa supermarket. And within walking distance to all the main attractions. When we had problems with the safe on arrival as it wasn't working and they managed to fix it for us eventually. The bathroom was a bit dusty but nothing too bad. Mattress was good but would of liked a firmer pillow but that's just personal preference. The air con was ok and it the room also has tea and coffee making facilities. Didn't hear much noise apart from the occasional siren going past which was a nice surprise considering there were team lines nearby. Breakfast was mostly continental with some beans, sausages and scrambled eggs to choose from. They do make omelettes on request but we never did this. No computer in the lobby so we couldn't print off our boarding passes before we came back which was a pain. However, the staff did say they would do this if we emailed them the details. We didn't take them up on this offer though as we just weren't comfortable doing this. Would I go back? Yes, as the location couldn't be beaten.

This was one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The location is perfect, but the accommodations are spectacular. The breakfast bar included made to order eggs, not just a regular buffet. The restaurant and bar are beautiful art deco, examples of old glamour. the staff is very friendly and helpful. It’s expensive but worth it.

This hotel, as so many have mentioned, is in a superb location, about 3 minutes walk to the hop on buses. The staff are excellent, we arrived having spent a stressful time at the airport, because our luggage had not arrived. They supplied us with toothbrushes and paste and an emergency razor (my husband didn’t try it ) . On checking out we asked for a taxi, but was informed that the inner ring Strasse was closed due to a parade. We needed to get to the train station, and the bell boy(man really) collected as much of our luggage that he could carry and took as through the streets to an available taxi, our hero! The downside of the hotel, again well mentioned is the heat in the room, there was a fan but didn’t really help much. I also found the room noisy, we were overlooking the street and although lovely during the day with all the hustle and bustle, seen from the balcony, after dark the street is full of noisy people, and from dawn there was a constant stream of clanking dustcarts and delivery vehicles. Perhaps a room on the side street might be quieter. We enjoyed our stay there for staff and location, but not heat and noise!

I took my two teen kids to Vienna for the first time. And stayed at this iconic, historical hotel in Vienna Hotel Saher. We thourouly enjoyed the visit of this city thanks to very helpful and professional service at the hotel. Hotel's location is excellent, you can enjoy Saher Torte without queing up as they serve them at breakfast buffet every day. Staffs are also nice and efficient. Historical decoration, Royal feeling,

Loved the location of this place! I have stayed in Vienna before and this location was far more ideal, very close to the opera house, main square, Museums etc. We were on the second floor and yes there is no receptionist there all the time but we had an issue with the shower in our room and rang for help, 2 minutes later there was a knock at the door and the issue was sorted straight away. Great amenities in the room - coffee machine, kettle, Bottled water, sweets etc. There is a lift, but it is very small so if coming with suitcases you may have to take a few trips as I could only fit in with one bag.
