My family and I stayed here for our last 2 nights in Vientiane and we were not disappointed. Upon checking in we were greeted by refreshing cold drinks. The check in process was incredibly smooth. The hotel staff helped us move our bags to our two adjoining rooms. Our rooms overlooked the garden/pond and was extremely cozy. I only wished we had stayed longer. The pool was amazing! I found it rare to get deep pool that is swimmable in Laos and Thailand and this one did not disappoint! It was perfect. We were able to get poolside service too. We also dined at the restaurant and our dinner and drinks were great. It is hard to find nice cocktails in SEA outside of the major hotels and Green Park’s dry martini did not disappoint. My parents liked the hotel so much they even joined us the following night and rented their own room right next to ours. We had a fabulous time and will definitely be back to stay here since we have family in Laos. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality.

Large, decent room with a beautiful view of the Mekong. But a mattress as hard as a plank of wood, air conditioning barely working, dark lighting with 5W bulbs, the lack of hot water in the bathroom, and the loud noise from the road below made my 14 days stay unpleasant. This was reinforced by very, very basic food, always the same at each meal, with poor quality products (tasteless meat, sometimes giving the impression of eating cardboard). Don't hope to have any reduction, or gift, even small. I broke a glass and I was asked to pay 6 $ to replace it (the real cost is 0,8$). However, at the same time, I paid 910$ for my stay. I was there in a particular context, since I did about forty when I entered Laos. So my comments on the food do not relate to the restaurants at this hotel. But this is a hotel that I would not go back to and that I do not recommend

A hotel with many international business travellers which is always a good sign. Location is quite good. Breakfast spread is amazing. If you are a non smoker, do ensure u get a non smoking room. I was first assigned a smoking room n asked for a change - the non smoking room is definitely of a newer and cleaner feel. I will not recommend the in room massage - it is a few times higher than street prices and the massage i had was really more of just a rub down with oil, masseuse did not seem to know pressure points at all and she showed up in a company tshirt that said ”hotel laundry services”.

Good business hotel, ok location. But you need a transportation to move around as the hotel transportation is higher than the local standard. No Grubhub nor Uber. Nice spacious room w a shower (trip.com stare “no private bath” I was worried but it meant “no bath tub”. Nice pool on the 5th floor w jets (staff will start when any guests are in the pool”. Very helpful staff, nice breakfast. Cons are: if you take a shower on 5th, entire floor will be wet ….. design error I guess.

酒店很有風情，老式別墅，很出片，泳池也挺大。居住起來很安靜。房間還算大，都是老紅木傢具，很有殖民風情。酒店帶SPA，但是晚上9點就沒有了。酒店老了點，但是非常的乾淨，韻味十足。 早餐還算可以，中規中矩的西式早餐。 要特別說一下，前台的服務真的很好，費用有耐心。整個酒店英文服務，沒有中文。美中不足就是泳池打掃的特別頻繁。

Cleanliness: Generally very clean room. Not sure when it’s opened but looks like everything is new and nice. Room size: Quite a bit space including a desk. Staff: Super friendly and helpful. Food: Hotel restaurant has great food with cheaper prices. Initially I didn’t book breakfast but their $5 breakfast was definitely worth the money. There are not many options around. Amenities: There’s a nice pool although I didn’t have time to use. Would be great in hot days. Can also ride a bike for $2 per day. Location: It’s out of the city in a quiet area. It wasn’t a problem for me as I was looking for a quiet place for good sleep, but the location might be problem if you want to be in the city center with many restaurant options. They have free shuttle bus twice a day at 6 & 7 pm. Alternatively can bike under 10 mins. Haven’t tried but I’m sure they’ll be happy to help if taxi or tuktuk is requested. Overall: Considering the price, it was a great stay for me.

Very good vacation hotel, convenient location not far from the center of Vientiane City, the front desk service is polite and warm, the room is spacious, clean and hygienic, the first floor has a swimming pool, tennis court, and a small garden, the green plant is very good, although the breakfast restaurant is a little smaller, the breakfast is not much, but the product and taste are good. Overall good, worth recommending!

We had a fabulous time and will definitely be back to stay here since we have family in Laos. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality.

The center bus terminal is a stone throw away where one can travel to and from the airport, within the town center and also cross the Thailand-Laos border to as far as Bangkok.

This hotel is good value for money, especially with current deals. The locationn is not ideal if you want to be near the Mekong downtown area. Excellent breakfast provided - I also received a room upgrade free. The reception staff were not very welcoming unfortunately - maybe they had a bad day? There is quite a lot of traffic noise - so preferably try to get a room at the back of the hotel Otherwise my stay was very comfortable.

After making a mistake with my hotel booking (booked one near the river but in Thailand, without a visa) and only discovering this upon arriving at Vientiane airport I decided to take a taxi to see the location of the Thai Embassy. I walked around the area near the Embassy for 5 minutes and came across a hotel that looked suitable for my stay. The Grand Hotel, Vientiane. The staff at the reception counter arranged a suitable room for me. It now seems that I walked into something amazing! I am not one to stay in a hotel unless I had to do so. I am a seasoned traveler who travels alone but occasionally with friends. Within this stay this hotel was hitting my requirements all of the time to being my ideal hotel! It is well designed with an Asian and Western decorative style. It has good sizeable rooms. The dining area is great and so is the hotel reception area to relax and feel comfortable. The small coffee shop in the reception area is an excellent facility to have with a good selection of food on offer for a reasonable price and good service. The staff at the hotel are to a high professional standard and always have a smile and a concern to your stay being an enjoyable one. Nearby to the hotel there are a variety of good restaurants and shops. The hotel is in a business and residential area that also caters well for the tourist. I would highly recommend this hotel whilst on business or holiday trip to Vientiane. Stayed here so I could walk to the bus station going to Nong Khai, Thailand. Room is very large with a long counter in room and in shower room. The building looks like it’s connected to another building so there are 2 staircases. Saw the extra fire escape stairs outside of our room as we had the room at the end of the floor. We walked to Patuxay, Talat Sao Mall, Vientiane Center and Parkson. All around the hotel. The male staff working night shift at front desk is very polite and he quickly checked us in. Room is very old. They made the new long counter , the drawer, coffee making counter and added a new chair, etc so it’s still comfortable to stay.

Big, smoky seedy smelly molded rooms. We walked in and booked cuz we were on an 8 hours bike trip and it makes us tired. Later we realized that it was almost double (we paid 595k), I saw the rate on google review and it was 360k, fine we know online booking is cheaper. The reception kept asking for paying with USD instead of Lao which I didn’t like it at all. He charged me finally more then official exchange rate. The breakfast was okay in terms of choices but it was a huge disappointment cuz all items were cold, I asked for a hot tea and finally the restaurant manager approached me and bring me a hot tea. All and all, with this room rate, you can definitely find better options. It was a NO for me

I’m a big fan of the IBIS Accor Group brand. As a Peace Corps Volunteer, in Armenia, the IBIS Yerevan Center was my home away from home. I stayed there so often that the front desk gave me birthday and Christmas presents. So, you can understand why IBIS has a warm place in my heart. That feelings is the main reason I selected the IBIS Vientiane Nam Phu Hotel. I booked nine days. My first reservation was for two nights, immediately followed by a reservation for another seven. When I checked in, I asked the front desk if the hotel could book my train ticket from Vientiane to Vang Vieng. The answer was yes. The hotel just needed 48 hours notice. Two days before my trip, I returned to the front desk. A photo of my passport was taken. I didn’t need to pay, until the ticket was purchased. I wanted a first class ticket. The hotel had to wait until they actually purchased the ticket to know what to charge me. If first class was all booked, they would need to purchase the cheaper second class ticket. When my first class ticket arrived I was charged 400,000 Baht. That’s twice the cost of the ticket. I was told it was a service charge and that I would have to pay an additional 200,000 Baht for the taxi to the train station. The morning of my departure, the taxi driver picked me up and drove me to the station. I exited the car and paid him the agreed price. He shook his head no. He wanted more money. I gathered my two bags and sat on the curb, as the driver continued to ask for more money. I finally said, “You can take me back to the hotel!” He then called the hotel. After about ten minutes, the driver apologized, got in his car, and drove away. It not that I was taken for 200,000 to 300,000 additional Baht. I’m American. I have enough money to travel to a foreign country and book a hotel room for nine days. I’m a mark! I get that. So, I just paid. I’m disappointed in having to give the Accor Group such a negative rating and the need to warn fellow travelers about the staff at this particular IBIS hotel.
