Location was about 5 mins drive from Vila Da Nova Devasas train station and 10 mins walk to Camara Gaia subway station. It’s not that close to Porto city centre. You got to Uber or walk everywhere. No free water in room unless you’re a Hilton Honors Silver member and above, and that’s only for the 1st bottle. Items like cotton pads and vanity kits were not restocked unless requested. Hand towels were also provided on the first day only. Dental kits have to be requested as well. Kinda disappointed based on the fact that it was a stay for our honeymoon but even so water was chargeable at 6 Euros per bottle because I was only a Blue HH member. Towel racks were not available, only hooks. Otherwise great service from the ground staff who could speak English except for a waitress who couldn’t understand “no ham no bacon” for our omelettes! Simple breakfast served daily. We were also given a small cake to celebrate. Thanks for the stay.

My husband has stayed here various times with work this year and I joined him for some time in October. I found the hotel very welcoming and friendly, lovely pool, gardens and shared areas - all very relaxing. The reception and bar area were lovely too, excellent breakfast buffet, so much choice and of excellent quality. The staff everywhere were so helpful and friendly. I felt the room was a little dated but all adds to the charm. Could not fault the hotel at all really, the location may not suit some. Out and about, a Lidl over the road for any essentials. We enjoyed the walk along the beach via the boardwalk into Espinho. A great atmosphere, a few good bars and restaurants. It was so nice to see everyone congregating in the street on the early evenings to see the amazing sunsets most nights, families chatting, couples drinking in the bars or taking picnics (pizzas etc!) to the beach etc. Such a lovely place. We didn't hire a car and found ourselves using Uber to go into Porto and back and forth the airport, all very reasonable and efficient. Would recommend a stay here.

Porto has always been rated highly so was a little concerned that the Novotel was on the other side of the Douro River. Quickly dismissed on arrival when we were greeted at reception by Aderito Diaspora. A most charming man who made every one signing in to the hotel feel very special - being multilingual helps. Free with advice on what to see, what and where to eat and the best places for shopping. A trip into Porto was a little as €4 and never more than €10 and this included a ride to beautiful shopping complex of El Conte Ingles. So leaving the hustle and bustle of Oporto to the calm of Afurada was a plus. The suggestion to walk down to the quaint fishing village of San Pedro with an Uber to take us back was greatly appreciated as we were able to see the Uber coming right up to our restaurant table. All hotels should have an Aderito Diaspora.
