Severin Safari Camp

This lodge is the epitome of the perfect stay in the wilderness. Located in the middle of Tsavo West N.P, the lodge is surrounded by nothing but unrivaled views of wilderness and scenery. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. I recommend staying in one of the beautiful Junior Suites (Bungalow style rooms with outdoor showers) with views that provide a front row seat to nature’s display of all array of animals from herds of zebras, antelopes to elephants! The lodge offers authentic dining suited for royalty. Amazing food. It’s simply the best safari lodge in Tsavo West by far.

Our five-day stay at Severin Safari Camp was an extraordinary experience that exceeded all our expectations. We stayed in a Luxury tent, which was the perfect blend of comfort and wilderness. The tent was beautifully appointed and provided all the amenities we needed while allowing us to feel immersed in the stunning landscape around us. The setting of the camp is truly breathtaking, with panoramic views that are both serene and awe-inspiring. We thoroughly enjoyed using the swimming pool, which offered a refreshing break after our daily activities. Evenings around the fireplace were magical, providing a cozy and enchanting atmosphere to unwind and share stories. The food at Severin Safari Camp was exceptional, with a variety of delicious options that catered to all tastes. Each meal was a delightful experience, adding to the overall enjoyment of our stay. We participated in numerous activities, each more thrilling than the last. The variety and quality of the excursions were impressive, ensuring we were always engaged and excited. We also visited the Kenbali Spa for a relaxing massage, adding a touch of pampering to our adventure. One of the most memorable aspects of our stay was the incredible wildlife we encountered. At the camp, we saw zebras, giraffes, elephants, crocodiles, baboons, beautiful birds, antelopes, and many more. Our safari trips allowed us to see even more diverse and fascinating animals up close. The staff at Severin Safari Camp were lovely, always attentive, and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant and memorable. Their warmth and hospitality truly made a difference. We highly recommend Severin Safari Camp to anyone seeking a unique and luxurious safari experience. It was, without a doubt, the best trip ever, and we can't wait to return!

After giving 3 stars in my previous review after a disappointing experience due to renovation works in the camp, the management contacted us again to apologize for the inconvenience through a nice long email. We appreciate their effort to keep clients satisfied, and we believe this deserves another star! We will definitely give it another go (once all renovation works are done). Thank you for your persistence.

Very perfect place for the totally harmony and peace of mind. It feit like a private camp. Very quiet place. All you can hear is the sounds of animals. Although the food needs some improvement when you have kids. Rooms were very clean only no mosquito nets.

Amazing spot in the middle of the wildlife. The restaurant is great, you can see animals (zebras, girafes, antelopes...) going to the water hole at various time of the day and if you are lucky you can also see the kilimanjaro. The swimming pool is great and well appreciated. Breakfast is copious. The chief can after dinner to ask us if we were ok (we were) and to make small talk. The room are nice with a huge bed, but beware of lizards and insects. Unfortunately we had a bad experience with some of the staff. The barman was not smiling or even saying hello. The receptionist seemed not very happy to see us arriving late and one of the waiter was absolutely not professional. Barely talking, not making eye contact, nearly throwing us the plates. He seemed constantly annoyed and close to disrespectful. He spilled our bottle and did not even apologies and looked at us as if we put it there just to annoy him.

This is what you would expect for a traditional tented camp environment, nice clean tent, with lovely views and roaring lions during the night! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Made a change to have an a la carte menu for lunch and dinner as opposed to a buffet. Would revisit again if ever in Kenya.

This is my second safari adventure, first in Kenya, and if I've discovered a personal preference to staying in tented camps over lodges. Our journey to Tsavo West Nat'l park was a long one (we were coming from Amboseli). We arrived at Severin and was quickly checked in. To our surprise, they actually upgraded our room to the Executive Suite. This suite was AMAZING! I wish we were able to spend more nights. The room was clean, bug free and definitely felt like our home away from home. The food was really good, a break from the buffet options we had at all our previous accommodations. They did experience significant rainfall in the days leading up to our visit, so there were a lot of bugs... Like A LOT. Nothing to do with the accommodation, but it did have a negative impact during dinner. Bugs were freely crawling on the table, even ended up on my plate. I think during times like this, they should put up mosquito nets around the dining area (just a suggestion). This camp offers incredible views, a pool (though we never used) and top notch Kenyan hospitality. A great experience to be at one with nature. I would love to return again and spend a few days to get the full experience. You won't be disappointed with booking this camp! Severin Safari Camp for the win!

Excellent tented camp. Good location, excellent food, tent had WiFi, nice shower and was quite large. There is a pool, spa and gym. Lots of animals to see from the dining area or your own tent. Staff was very attentive. The location is very relaxing. I would plan to stay at least 3 nights.

This is my second stay at Severin Safari camp. I started at Severin Sea Lodge and took the train to the Safari Camp. It is an absolutely breathtaking place. There is no fence around the camp, so you will experience watching wildlife directly from your luxury tent or restaurant. Food is amazing. I cant believe this place is in the middle of nowhere and manages to serve you an incredible variety of food at a very high level. They even bake their own bread! Don't miss out having a drink at the fireplace in the evening. You will see a starry sky like you've never seen it before.
