Nice big hotel, but not the cleanest. Found several different hairs in the shower, bathroom and by the bed that weren’t mine and they were different colors. Bed was comfy and the gym was really good (new, huge and clean), because it’s a private gym for people who live in the luxury building across the street. Check-in staff were friendly :).

If you want to skip a big headache, avoid this hotel. Book one of the many others within walking distance. Our family had a terrible experience here - and while I can’t speak to the experiences of others, the number of angry and frustrated guests we encountered in the lobby tells me that this is the norm. We were traveling with three teenagers on this road trip to DC, so it was important for us to book a suite with a separate bedroom. If you’ve ever traveled with teenagers, then you know that personal space in your downtime is essential for keeping the peace. When I was in line to check in, the woman at the front desk was in the middle of a phone call where she was telling a disappointed guest that there were no suites available. I smirked a bit, happy that I had planned ahead… As I checked in, though, I was told that due to “pipe issues” they could not fulfill our reservation. Instead, we were bumped down to a studio room - a tiny box of a room. This was disappointing for a few reasons. First, the line about pipe issues was an obvious lie to cover for their own booking mistake. Second, the room they put us in, while it technically slept 5, was a powder keg of teen angst for the four nights we stayed. When I told the lady at the front desk how upset I was, she could offer little more than a shrug. Room cleaning was promised every other day of our stay - but I can report that this was another falsehood. We had the room cleaned after our first night, but never again. Each day we had to go to the front desk to ask for new towels, toilet paper, trash pick-up, etc. And while at the front desk dealing with those minor issues, I saw plenty of frustrated families sitting in the lobby well after 4pm waiting for a room to be cleaned so they could check in. I tell ya - this was disappointing all around. After 10 hours on the road, we just wanted a nice clean place to stay. In spite of our planning and booking, we were shoved in a small room and forgotten about. I was promised at check-in that when a suite became available we would be alerted - but not one other person at the front desk seemed to have any idea what I was talking about. Skip this place. I wish we had booked with someone else. Anyone else. They’ve put a bitter fringe on this family trip, and I will not be booking with Residence Inn or Marriott again.

The darkest most depressing deluxe room with inadequate lighting, ineffective air con which could not be adjusted, and an unwelcoming front desk, and staff who consistently failed to deal with simple requests for a coffee machine that worked, and a blanket to keep us warm in bed. The hotel restaurant appeared permanently closed, never open in the evenings. Room servicing was poor, and amounted to making the bed, with items not replenished, cleaned or tidied. Dirty lifts and public areas. Little point complaining, as nothing happened when we did ask. The hotel property appeared to be failing, and operating on a shoestring. Perhaps we should have been suspicious of the many single trip advisor reviews? Shocking for a fairly new and supposedly trendy Hyatt
