It was probably dirtiest hotel at which I have ever stayed. I found a metal piece of something about the size of my hand under the bed sheet. This means they didn’t change the sheets in the room before we arrived. We could see finger prints everywhere - on the mirrors, on the bed frame, the desks, the other furniture. The bathroom floor was dirty. There were drops of coffee on the wall (next to the bed)

The location is chic, 5 minutes walk to the white house. But the room itself was not clean, the toilet was dirty, they found paper on the bedside table from adhesive plaster for legs of previous customers. After leaving, they withheld from me $ 5!!!

We have stayed at the Mayflower Hotel probably 6 times over the years and were always excited to stay at this iconic hotel. But this year's experience has been disappointing. Our first room was positioned over a massive air conditioning unit which emitted a high pitched sound all night long. I finally resorted to wearing my noise canceling headphones, but did not sleep from 3 AM on. We were moved to a new room after much confusion with the housekeeping staff. I noticed congealed ice-cream on the nightstand and toothpaste residue on the bathroom wall near the sink. I had to wipe down the surfaces which should have been done with a thorough cleaning. I expected more....

Decent but overpriced convention hotel. No reason to stay there otherwise at those prices. The reservation system is inept and affected the whole stay. It took me 35 minutes on the phone and three representatives to drop one night at the end of my reservation and add one at the front end. I went from three nights to three nights, but no one seemed to know how to do that. So they made a separate reservation for the first night, which increased my cost. After my first night there, I got a call at 4pm asking when I was going to vacate the room on the first day there, and they were surprised when I said ”Saturday” because I had two more nights. There was no housekeeping on that first day until I complained around 6 PM. Then I got an email bill for the last two nights, even though I stayed and was charged for three. Two more calls to fix that, so I got the bill for the first night--which was inaccurate. Way too much of my time was spent fixing what should have been easy--even if there are internal reasons for this, the bottom line is what the customer sees. Bad customer service--for well over $1000 dollars. Not up to Marriott standards.
