Quite honestly this was the best hotel stay I have ever had! The staff there are awesome and truly care about you- which really shows every time you walk in or out the door. I'd like to thank all of the bellman- in particular, Alexander Garcia, who was warm and extremely helpful both when my Grandmother and I arrived at the hotel and left. Not to mention, the food and service at both the Lafayette and the downstairs lounge was outstanding. 6/5 stars, I will be staying here again on my next trip to DC.

Perfetti la posizione e l'impatto del salone d'ingresso. Personalmente ho trovato deludenti l'atteggiamento del personale alla reception (professionale ma gelido: sembrava che ci facessero un piacere), la camera (piccola e kitsch) e la clientela del bar (rumorosa e per lo più composta da gente in preda all'alcool).

We have stayed at the Mayflower Hotel probably 6 times over the years and were always excited to stay at this iconic hotel. But this year's experience has been disappointing. Our first room was positioned over a massive air conditioning unit which emitted a high pitched sound all night long. I finally resorted to wearing my noise canceling headphones, but did not sleep from 3 AM on. We were moved to a new room after much confusion with the housekeeping staff. I noticed congealed ice-cream on the nightstand and toothpaste residue on the bathroom wall near the sink. I had to wipe down the surfaces which should have been done with a thorough cleaning. I expected more....

 1. 관광하기에 좋은 지리적 위치라 구경 중에 지칠 때면 잠깐 들어와 쉬다가 다시 나가곤 했습니다. 2. 에어컨 냉방/난방 정상적으로 잘 작동했고, 침구류도 깨끗하고 좋았습니다. 3. 세면대와 욕실, 화장실이 각각 분리되어있는 구조인데 딱히 불편한 점은 없지만 욕조가 없는 게 아쉬웠습니다. 4. 욕실의 샤워헤드는 상단 고정이어서 자유자재로 움직일 수 없어서 이 부분이 불편했습니다. 5. 대형 TV와 냉장고, 다리미 등이 있었습니다. 6. 뷰는 바로 앞에 멋있는 건축물이 있어서 그런지 만족했었습니다. 7. 하지만 이 호텔의 진짜배기는 루프탑 라운지입니다. 루프탑에서 보는 야경은 더할나위없이 최고입니다. (루프탑이 참 인기입니다. 이른 저녁부터 새벽까지 루프탑 손님들로 끊임이 없는 핫플레이스입니다)

It was probably dirtiest hotel at which I have ever stayed. I found a metal piece of something about the size of my hand under the bed sheet. This means they didn’t change the sheets in the room before we arrived. We could see finger prints everywhere - on the mirrors, on the bed frame, the desks, the other furniture. The bathroom floor was dirty. There were drops of coffee on the wall (next to the bed)

We've stayed at other five-star hotels, but the luxury, opulence and level of service of this hotel just swept me off my feet. Sometimes my teen daughter feels out of place in ”fancy” settings, but the staff were so welcoming that she was at ease for our whole stay. We were first greeted by the valet Dennis (”Dennis the Menace”). He was energetically welcoming and his smile can't be resisted - you just have to smile back. He gave us bottles of Evian and escorted us inside, where he introduced us to Said at the front desk. Check in was quick and efficient but without feeling rushed. We arrived a bit early and our room was being cleaned, so we sat in the breath-taking atrium and just soaked in the beauty. They had added cherry blossom decorations that were stunning. I have included pictures. I booked a king guest room, but I believe we were upgraded to a 585 sq ft premium guest room, 2 levels up. It was formally decorated and very luxurious, but not at all fussy or overbearing. A very helpful bellman escorted us to our room and showed us some of the features, such as the electronic ”do not disturb” light and the electric curtains & sheers. The mini bar was well-stocked with a variety of liquors and mixers as well as a split of champagne (Veuve Clicqot if I remember correctly). The hotel is walking distance to some of our favorite museums and attractions, but we ended up spending extra time in the room, just reveling in the luxury! The mattress was moderately firm and incredibly comfortable. The pillows were large and soft but supportive for side sleepers. And that oversized bathtub... I want one in my home! I am 5'8” and my feet did not touch the opposite end when I bathed. The water came almost to my shoulders. And Frette bathrobes afterwards was such a thoughtful touch! We ended up not using the shower, which was the size of a regular hotel's entire bathroom and was equipped with both an overhead shower head and a hand-held sprayer. I booked the room too late to go to tea or the spa, but I did peek in on both. I almost wish I didn't because both were so enticing. We had breakfast delivered to our room and it was delicious. We did not hear any noise outside our room. There are plenty of outlets for plugging in multiple chargers. Check out was equally smooth and efficient. A bellman arrived within minutes of my request. Said processed the checkout and remembered that we were traveling for my daughter's 17th birthday. Recalling that kind of detail impresses me that he was actually listening when we chatted at check-in. Dennis was outside again when we left. He gave us fresh bottles of Evian while our luggage was being loaded and sent us on our way with smiles. If we return to DC, staying at the Waldorf Astoria again will be our obvious choice!
