"George Town's main area felt a bit dated. I initially wanted to book a charming boutique hotel, but after reading numerous reviews complaining about old facilities, I quickly abandoned that idea. Instead, I opted for a newer apartment-style homestay. For our family of four (two adults, two children), this homestay was truly perfect. It features two bedrooms, a living room, and two bathrooms. The beds in both rooms appear to be queen-sized. The view from the master bedroom is simply wonderful, with the ocean visible to the right outside the window. The second bedroom, however, has a window facing the hallway, so we kept the curtains closed throughout our stay. It didn't affect our sleep at night, though. The apartment comes with a water dispenser, which was incredibly convenient. This meant we didn't have to buy bottled water or boil our own hot water. The host thoughtfully left coffee, tea, as well as some snacks and candies, which the kids absolutely adored. The advantages of choosing an apartment over a traditional hotel are immense. Even without considering anything else, the refrigerator and washing machine alone were a huge selling point. The fridge compartment was spacious enough, and the freezer could even accommodate ice cream. The washing machine was brand new, spotless, and very easy to operate. I brought my own laundry disinfectant, so we could wash our clothes daily upon returning, and they dried quickly when hung inside. This was incredibly beneficial for a family of four on a trip lasting over ten days, as it significantly reduced the amount of luggage we needed to pack. The amenities in Malaysian apartment complexes are generally excellent. Our building had a dedicated swimming pool and fitness facilities, which is quite different from what's typically found in China. The kids loved being able to use the pool every day. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Penang in the future."

Families will find it especially thoughtful, with a baby cot, bathtub, and high chair all provided for a stress-free stay. The rooftop infinity pool was another highlight — breathtaking views of George Town during the day and beautiful Komtar lights at night.
