Hotel berhampiran Uferpromenade Weggis, Weggis

The name befits this grand old dame by the lake, for it is a first class, yet relaxed hotel in the most beautiful and tranquil location. And it was my good fortune to have been allocated a 2nd floor lake view room with a large terrace, affording the most stunning views imaginable. The only interruptions to the peace, being the atmospheric sound of the steamer's hooters and the church bells, along with a few ducks! I only had breakfasts at the hotel, which were superb, and with all tastes catered for, as I believe was the case with other meals also. Much quieter and smaller than the city of Lucerne, the location of Weggis was ideal, both for bus connections, and for the boats who regularly called in at the pier, just a short walk from the hotel. From here, Lucerne was easily accessible by boat, as were many other beautiful destinations. Mount Rigi, that is just behind the hotel, can be easily accessed by boat and cogwheel railway from the nearby village of Vitznau, and a trip to Mount Pilatus, via the steepest cogwheel railway in the world, is a wonderful experience affording the most magnificent views imaginable. Whilst a boat trip around the lake, with an essential stop at the beautiful village of Bauen, is a day I can highly recommend also. All in all, I had a wonderful week's holiday, and felt on returning home, that I had been living in some sort of utopian world!

Stayed for five days. On day two we were already feeling extremely relaxed and as if we had been there much longer. On arrival we were welcomed very warmly by the manager. Our room and bathroom were clean, clean, clean. The room has a mini fridge. Drinks can be ordered from reception. The view from the room was of the lake and the mountains. Absolutely breathtaking. The ferries closely passing by going to the nearby boat station are a joy to watch. The hotel swimming pool was only newly built last May. Very much like an infinity pool. There is also a facility to enter the lake to swim. Breakfast is served, in buffet form, in the Grande Salle, which is very light and airy with lovely views of the lake and mountains. You can also eat outside, right next to the lake, on the residents' terrace. You also eat your evening meal in the Grande Salle, if on half board. Residents can also eat in the Wintergarden Restaurant or on the restaurant's outside terrace. The a-la-carte menu is very varied. Something for everyone. The food served is excellent served by a team of very efficient waiters. Weggis is a brilliant place for a walking or sightseeing holiday. There are plenty of cafes and also a supermarket. The bus service, which leaves near the bus station, is very efficient. Trains run from nearby Vitznau. We would most definitely recommend a stay at The Central am See, Weggis, for a fabulous holiday with superb service with restaurant.

The hotel is very cosy and I felt there really good. The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful. When I arrived they showed me everything in the hotel and explain me the important thing. I totally recommend for solo travelers. The room and shared bathroom was kept tidy and cleaned. The breakfast was really delicious. The hotel location is also perfect. From the hotel you can walk around and you are everywhere close to the nature. For me it was very pleasant stay. Thank you for everything. And I hope I will come back again :)

Great view and friendly service at the hotel. Very comfy bed. Shower is VERY tiny so if you are a large person you need to choose a room with a bathtub for sure. Also, the pillows on the bed are not comfy -- ok first night but after that the stuffing inside compresses into clumps that are miserable. Need down/feather pillows or a pillow menu. Speaking of menu...breakfast is very good with lots to choose from. I was not too impressed with lunch, however. Tried several times but found the lunch to be fair at best. Soundproofing is good and easy to get to via ferry. No swimming pool or tennis at the facility FYI but there is a sauna.

I booked a three night stay here for myself and son aged 2.5. I found the journey from Zurich airport easy. I took the train to HB then changed to a train to Brunnen. I did switch at Zug. Then the 504 bus to the hotel was 10 minutes from Brunnen station. Overall it took just under 2 hours. There was some confusion at check in. I booked via ********** and assumed I was in the hotel. I was not aware there were apartments, and these are treated differently from hotel guests. After discussing this with management, we agreed I could pay an additional fee to be treated as a hotel guest. This was much better as it included full board food for my son, breakfast for both of us, towels/robes and lots more extras. Had I just been in the apartment, I would have had to check out at 10am whereas hotel/hostel is 11am. Also check in for apartments is at 4pm whereas hotel/hostel in 3pm. Breakfast is charged at CHF 27 per person/per day and children’s meals are CHF 9 per meal. Also, the gym is charged at CHF 15 per person/per day. As you can see it can get very expensive. I found the apartment to be very spacious and comfortable. It was frustrating having to navigate finding the apartment in the dark as the signs were not clear and it was difficult to navigate some steps with the buggy. The restaurant was great for the children’s meals/ Plenty to choose from. The restaurants did get busy but I never booked and was always able to get a table. At lunch I did not want to eat so little one only ate, I felt like the waitresses did not like this and kept asking if I wanted to order something. The kids facilities are the best. The play area is great with lots of fun toys. Sadly parents let their children run unsupervised but that’s not the hotels fault. Ethan also went to TOM’s Happy Club one morning whilst I went to the gym. The pool was also great. Plenty to keep the children entertained. We also enjoyed the cinema room. There isn’t much local to the hotel unless you have a car but we were only there for a few days so it was ok for us. Overall I would recommend this hotel for families. So much to keep children happy. The Hotel room that we were allocated to was facing the front of the hotel and it had amazing views! The staffs were generally friendly but we had one waiter at the breakfast area (whom had an uncanny resemblance to Arnold Schwarzenegger!), he was extremely informative and accommodating to our needs. The mineral pool was really nice, the view was jaw dropping, unfortunately the hotel did not allow for camera and me and my wife were unable to capture that magical moment when we first swam into the outdoor section only to be welcomed by snow capped scenery. The fact that the hotel allowed checked out guest to continue using the mineral pool was really a bonus, there were lockers and hotel towels still available to use.
