This is a good place to stay if you have a business meeting with Swiss and German expatriates. There is a mosque, and this place is a source of many halal foods.

I've been staying at this hotel for years (1-2 times a year), but unfortunately, there haven't been many renovations or improvements to the building or the rooms. The front desk staff are decent, and check-in is done on a tablet (quite small, like a mini iPad). It's a nice touch that apples are available at the entrance.
The elevator is slow and noisy; it's always the same one out of the three installed (I wonder if the other two even work anymore). The room is spacious, but the furniture is starting to show its age. However, the cleanliness is impeccable, both in the room and the bathroom. What's really odd is that there's no kettle (for tea or coffee) available in the room, which I've never seen in any other hotel in this price range.
The breakfast is alright, but before, you could order a cappuccino without extra charge. Now, all coffee (except the one available in a carafe) costs extra. That's a real shame.

The location, in particular, is perfect. The rooms could definitely use a refresh. The welcome was fine. However, it's a downside that after a year, only one elevator has been repaired, with two still out of service. This leads to long waits, especially during busy times. A pleasant surprise was that the breakfast buffet was back. Though it was a pity there was no coffee ready, and only herbal tea was available. As it stands, we would use this hotel again next time, but we do hope something will be done about the elevator problem.

Reasonable price, restaurant was quite good but hotel looked bit tired, only one lift was working while we were there.

Staff coping very well under challenging conditions. No airconditioning and only 1 working lift. They remained polite and friendly despite people complaining about the lack of airco on a 35 degree day!
Rooms are large and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Location was perfect for us as we were transiting from Italy to the Netherlands.
Sad that the lack of airco in whole hotel was not working and not enough fans were available.

1. Only 1 person at reception dealing with check-ins and visitor queries. Long queues.
2. Hotel has 12 Floors. Only ONE lift. Long waits to go up/down.
3. Hotel restaurant - 1st floor - has appalling service in the evenings. Terrible.
4. Breakfast - sign at entrance says "one coffee", have to for more coffees.
5. Hotel and rooms ate in desperate need of refurbishment. Old, dark, heavily scratched wood; sticky/filthy material clad headboards.
6. Breakfast generally is OK.
7. Location: not far from a large traveller community.

Hotel room was a little dated but so very clean and the bed was very big and comfortable. It was perfect for what we needed. The breakfast was great also. Reception staff were so kind and helpful. We came to visit the Christmas markets in Basel. Taxis into Basel were quite expensive but we expected this but coming back in an uber saved some expense. Overall a clean and quiet hotel with lovely staff and quite close to airport. I would recommend to anyone intending to visit Basel.

It was on the French German border but hotel was too old and room amenities was from 1990s. Breakfast was not up to standard and would never recommend to stay again at a this property

The staff was very friendly and helped me with every question. Breakfast was excellent. Close to the Swiss border.
