My stay was disgusting and the receptionist (manager) was rude, mean, dismissive and argumentative. She has no empathy, doesn't care, she acted like I was inconveniencing her by just checking in and checking out. She would stare at me with utter distain. No ounce of customer service skills. Then had the audacity to call me rude and told me to get people skills. I was merely reacting to her being nasty and my taking money. She has no professionalism what so ever constantly acts like she is annoyed. She acted like she owned me and was trying to be my mummy She yelled at me and stole my money. The accommodation is disgusting, I dont even know where to start Upon arrival I thought there was no one there, I was left standing there. I didn't realise the receptionist was in the office ignoring me until a lady with a duffle bag went into the office and I asked the lady if someone was there to which she said yes. So I went to pop head in to say hello and the receptionist set on me growling at me and being nasty telling me to get and go away. She was rude and treated me like a criminal during check in. The room was impossible to find but I found it eventually. She heartless and inconsiderate. It's not a hotel it's a hostel Upon check out the receptionist acted like she was pissed off that I wanted to check out. She growled me because I touched the reception desk, there was some old tape hanging off and I kinda played with it and she just kept growling me and yelling at me saying I was ripping it when I wasn't and she wouldn't let me speak or shut up. I had to yell over her to check me out. She refused to give my money back because there was a hair dye transfer from me bright red hair on a towel. I explained the dye is water soluble and it will wash out. Never mind that my makeup and mascara were on the towels. She staring yelling at me and would only give me 80 dollars in the end. She only gave it to me because I argued with her she was going to take the whole 100. I had folded the towels, emptied the rubbish wipes the floors. She had to unfold the towels like literally look through a customer's washing. She was looking for a reason not to give my money back. When I was trying to explain the room situation she yelled at me and talked over me I was just trying to have a discussion about the issues with the accommodation and she yelled at me and growled at me for not complaining sooner. I can actually raise an issue whenever I please. The fridge leaked in the middle of the night and I used a towel to clean that up. Out of courtesy I placed a towel on a pillow to sleep to avoid hair dye transfer. The room was gross the shared toilet and bathroom were gross there was urine on the underside of the toilets. The shared kitchen area was gross There's like a ventilation system above the bed covered with dust, grime and build up which fell on me and the bed so I pulled it away. No mirrors! The draws and furniture are so old and tatty and smell bad.

Location is good close to the water and city center. People very nice. However there were several issues. Our room was on the ground floor. Almost no daylight. Just a small window looking at a blind wall. Lights in the room need to be on during the day. Bathroom very strange. The sink is so small, more a sink for a washroom. Mirror not above the sink. Shower has a curtain. Bathroom is completely open so when you are in bed you can see everything. It is very difficult to call this a 4 star hotel... Maybe rooms on upper floors are better. When we complained about our room, we were told that the hotel was full. However, we booked way in advance..months before.

O M G. The staff are so lovely, the room was perfect for our overnight stay. The ladies at the front desk were super busy when we checked in but still managed a smile for everyone. The bussiness however meant that we weren't told about the charge for parking. We were happy to pay because secure overnight parking is hard to come by, but it was a surprise when the gentleman checking us out advised of it. (It does say about the charge on the back of the paper that goes in your car windscreen, however after being mucked around by our initial hotel, we were in too much of a rush to get sorted for the concert we were attending that we didn't even think to read it)

Best hotel we have stayed in ..... Ever!!! around the world. Boutique, with sublime attention to detail, & staff that felt like family. Everything catered for. Great location, big rooms, large bathrooms, and great facilities. #1 choice. Lots of little touches that make the difference. Staff could give a lesson to many others !! Thanks

I took my mum down to see WOW and we stayed two nights. It was a special treat for us to stay here. It’s a beautiful hotel. Stunning decor and architecture and full of ambiance. We didn’t have the best experience on our first night. Small droplets of dry blood were found on my bed sheets! We called the night manager and he quickly changed all the bedding and let us know this would be reported in the morning. We both had a terrible night sleep due the springs in the bed. Without any exaggeration they actually bruised us as they struck out that badly. Not what you expect for the price we paid especially for my 78 year old mum. I spent half of the night sleeping on the 2 seater couch. The light in the bathroom automatically turns on the vent. Our vent took about 40 minutes to turn off. We also spoke to the night manager about this. I spoke to the cleaning manager the next morning. She ensured me that the sheets were changed and apologised, assuring me the laundry company had already been notified. She also said that the vent issue had already been noted and was going to be fixed. She then invited us to change rooms that morning. Our second night was actually the room we had paid for. It was very nice. I would like to note that the receptionist/ service manager was not very accomodating with us. Polite enough but overall she had a defensive manner, explaining nobody else had complained and that she would consider our feedback along with other people’s experiences. Seriously?! Blood on the sheets and very old spring mattresses with not a mattress protector in sight. Wow indeed. Upon check out we stored our bags. Returning that afternoon we sat in the lobby. The receptionist quickly bought us our bags and said not a word. No .. are you ready for your bags? or How was your second night? Nothing. I believe we had been quite calm but direct about the whole experience with her and feel she might have been a more apologetic and concerned. It was a real turn off. They offered a $100 refund. Which was pretty unimpressive as well. I hope the manager or owner reads this. Not good.

As other recent reviews have stated, this hotel is in desperate need of fixing up. The bathroom, in particular was kind of gross. Paint peeling off the walls. Mold. Very dated looking. The location is nice and the bed was comfortable, but, it's really showing it's age. Would be a very nice spot if they'd invest in it.

Room 302 was a spacious room which included beds for 3 people, a couch and a well equipped kitchenette with a table and 3 chairs to eat at. There was a cupboard for hanging clothes, as well as benches/shelves to put suitcases. The bathroom was a reasonable size with a good shower and full hand basin. Hand soap and body wash were provided. The toilet was clean but the seat could do with being replaced. There was ample off road parking. There were stairs as well as a lift to access the upstairs levels. The location of the motel was excellent for reaching Cuba Street, the waterfront (Te Papa) and Wellington CBD - a 15 min walk. We would happily stay here again.

Booking was done directly on the Hotel's website. Check in from 2pm translated into checking in after 4pm over an hour after we arrived, we were simply instructed to go away and come back later! On the at least four occasions I was at the reception, I had to explain again to the same receptionist why I was there - to check in ! ! ! Reason given room was not ready, was lack of staff and a full house the night before LOL. Room provided was not what was booked, nor did it match what they advertise on their website. When we queried issues with staff we were passed to Manager, she said she would get back to us in a couple of minutes when she had checked our booking - that translated into over half an hour before she turned up at reception - after she was again called away from another activity. Her arrival took the form of wanting to book us in, totally disregarding she had promised to call us back. Even when I showed the Manager (a) Our Booking; AND (b) Room Info on their websiste, I was told I was wrong LOL . . . So we left. Payment was processed immediately, Credit took significantly longer to be processed, despite there being there being less than an hour between payment and refund. Several staff were covered with visible tattoos, they may have been excellent employees, but that is not everyone's cup of tea, to us, not at all professional for the hospitality sector.

The room was never cleaned over 4 nights despite requests. We did however get towels. Its an Accor dump. I should have stayed elsewhere. The first night the wind blew the place so much it was like being in a fishing shack. The kitchenette was laughably small and so chipped and threadbare, it was hard to know if anything ever were clean. I foolishly thought it would be a good apartment, but I was wrong. Shame on you Accor. I have stayed in better Ibis Express for goodness’ sake. The view was ok, if you like being looked at by the office over the street.
