We have always enjoyed staying at QT Museum Hotel. We were given the option to upgrade to a Seaview room on the top floor with an additional charge. Seeing it is a more quiet room compared to my booking request on the 1st floor near road traffic and rubbish bin area, I paid the extra for the upgrade per night for 2 nights. Our room was not serviced well the following day. Rubbish bin in the bathroom being the only one was not emptied. The Bath and Shower gel was not replenished, we had to asked for it to be refilled. the cushions on the bed was still on the floor from the night before, the ironing board was still left out - I did not put it back as the iron was still very hot after ironing my dress for my conference that morning. The gym facilities was very tired with all towels being used and the used towels bin was overflowing. I was very disappointed with my stay this trip, using shortage of staff since Covid is a very old excuse now. Systems and procedures should be in placed by management to ensure the 5 star ratings is upheld. No point upselling or selling more rooms if they cannot keep customers happy to come back again. This was not only my opinion but that of my colleagues. very disappointing!

We arrived here very early as we had been booked on an early flight from Blenheim. we left our luggage and spent the day visiting various places . By three o'clock, when we had been told to come back, we were a bit tired after the early start and lots of walking so were rather dismayed to hear our room wasn't ready. Throughout our three week tour in NZ we heard a lot about staff shortages in the hospitality sector. The receptionist asked housekeeping if they could prioritise our room and about 45 mins later we were able to go up. As compensation for the delay we were given two bottles of wine and some chocolate. We appreciated the gesture although we had said we understood the problems . Our apartment had two bedrooms, one ensuite and the other with a bathroom across the hall. The kitchen was well equipped and we were pleased to have a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a steep slope up to the entrance to this place which may cause difficulties for some. It is very conveniently located for restaurants, shops and attractions. The harbour area is only a 15 to 20 minute walk away, depending on mobility levels. A good base for exploring Wellington.

We stayed at this hotel when visiting Wellington. (Rm705) The staff were friendly and helpful. The foyer and corridors looked tired and in need of refurbishment. We stayed on the top floor overlooking a side street. The room was clean well appointed and of a good size. The beds were comfortable and the shower had a good pressure. Car parking was limited and a tight squeeze to get in. We could have done with double glazing windows as we did have some street noise from rowdy people. The restaurant at the hotel needed to display More Gluten Free Options as this prevented us eating there. Al's Top Tips Ask for a room not over looking Willis Street. Take a good umbrella / waterproof clothing as it rains alot here and can be quite windy.

The camper van site here is really just the car park to the motel. There are some facilities available, but they are fairly basic, with a strange control for the showers outside the bathroom. The site is just off a major road so relatively noisy even at night, but there is a shared kitchen and the facilities are clean and working. There are two self-service laundries which work well. Driving into Wellington from here could be tricky, and parking a camper van in the city even more so. But there is a bus service from the end of the road right into the city centre, which was great and took around 20 minutes. We chose it because it seemed to be about the nearest site to the city and the location was OK. There's not too much more to recommend it.

Have stayed at this Ibis in central Wellington twice now, and it never disappoints = you know just what you'll get; clean and functional spaces, rooms, bathrooms etc. Breakfast was very good also, and plentiful. Pleasant staff throughout also; an all-round positive experience as part of work travels. Although Ibis is predominantly a budget hotel brand elsewhere in the world, such as Europe - this hotel is priced for location, and the local market; hence mid-range.

Great location and very friendly and helpful staff. Check in was a breeze, and we were allocated a room as requested, in a quiet zone of the hotel. Although on a steep hill, the elevator down the street level was a bonus. After a long day, we used the room service and can highly recommend the Haloumi Burger for something different. But please have a Club Sandwich on the menu in the future. The bed was terrific and we had a great sleep. Breakfast (included in our room tariff) was great. A take away container of fresh fruit offered was a nice bonus. Will I/We stay here again? Yes. Sure will.

Stayed her for a work on 5 August 2022 Good hotel in a handy central location. Good reception area, staff were friendly and welcoming. Not a modern hotel by any means but a classic feel to it. Was assigned a wheelchair accessible room 507, Room was a small queen room that was clean and well appointed. Being a disability accessible room, the bathroom was huge and essentially a wet-room without a bath. Not that I wanted one, but you would expect to see one, normally. Nearly slipped in the shower as I didn't find the rubber grip mat until after my shower as it was under the towels on the towel rail, where I didn't see it, rather than in the shower on the hand rail where I would. Good to see they have done away with the plastic bottles for Had an internal room facing another hotel block without a view, but this meant it was quiet. Wellington can get noisy on a Friday night but I slept well. Check out took maybe 10 seconds. Would stay again. Damon

The room was never cleaned over 4 nights despite requests. We did however get towels. Its an Accor dump. I should have stayed elsewhere. The first night the wind blew the place so much it was like being in a fishing shack. The kitchenette was laughably small and so chipped and threadbare, it was hard to know if anything ever were clean. I foolishly thought it would be a good apartment, but I was wrong. Shame on you Accor. I have stayed in better Ibis Express for goodness’ sake. The view was ok, if you like being looked at by the office over the street.

I was so impressed with the reception staff, who were friendly, accommodating and professional. Claudia and Ella went out of their way to help, and did it with a smile. Claudia met us to drop off a key for the car park, which was very thoughtful as my mother can't walk far these days. Our room is lovely, so central, modern and fresh. Great to just step out the door, and be so close to the shops and other activities...its just a hop skip and a jump from the cable car. Given the 5 star treatment we've received, I would definitely stay here again, when next visiting Wellington. I will also consider booking a Quay hotel when traveling around NZ. Thanks again to Ella and Claudia!

The room was large. Three mismatched chairs and two small round tables. Comfortable King-size bed. Nice bathroom. Great closets and drawers. Right across the street from the Te Papa Museum. Down side: The lighting is high intensity spots including over the bed. Impossible for one person to sleep when the other was up. There was room for a desk and even a sofa, so why wasn’t there one? The restaurant in the lobby terrible.

I have taken a while to write this because I lost the paper but now found it. I LOVED this hotel! We were diverted to Wellington due to Auckland floods and the experience was just a breeze. I would like to thank the two night girls Vaifoa and Oceana who made the check in none stressful even though they had a lot of people in the lobby but didn’t let the pressure show. Had an amazing housekeeper Jeena who was quick and lovely and made the room beautiful. My family and I appreciated all the hard work everyone put in especially for our difficult trip. Will recommend this hotel to everyone I know and will definitely be back. Thank you city life.

We really liked the Movenpick: tucked into a lush green hillside, the hotel exudes an old world charm matched with modern-day comforts. The room was quite small but well-appointed and very quiet. The service was excellent: friendly & efficient at all turns. Full breakfast buffet was lovely with a stunning view over the city. Unfortunately, we would not choose to return because of one room issue: the majority of lights in the room, including bedside lights and bathroom lights, are controlled by one master switch, an overhead light that lights up the whole room. Turn this overhead off and you cannot turn on those bedside lights nor the bathroom lights. Hence - no reading in bed without the whole room lit up; if you need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, you either trip around in the dark or wake up your sleeping partner with the light. When your partner accidentally turns the overhead off while you're in the shower? Welcome to Sensory Deprivation Shower time. It is such a shame, because but for this one issue we quite enjoyed our brief stay - but, if it had been a longer stay, I would have moved hotels. Lastly, a note: the hillside down to the main street of restaurants, shops and central downtown is VERY steep. We enjoyed the trek to & from, for the most part, but we both had to stop for breath on the way 'home.' If you do choose the Movenpick, make sure to pack sturdy walking shoes!

The Trinity is centrally located and the tariff reasonable, while our room (including bathroom) was clean and well-provisioned if a little small. The fridge was as small as I've ever seen and there was no chair in the room. Our main problem though was with wifi access. At check-in, we did get a note warning that when connecting to the wifi to close all internet browsers if you have more than one open, and then to clear your web browser and cache data if that didn't work. Never come across anything like this before, and have stayed in a lot of hotels in many countries. After lots of failed, frustrating attempts to sign on for both of us, we had to go down to girl at reception, who took another 5-10 minutes to sort out the issues. Even after that, my partner still had problems with the wifi dropping out and needing to reconnect.

Stayed here a couple of nights. First time at a backpackers, selected this establishment as it was in town and walking distance from everything. The place was clean and tidy, patrons were also friendly. Staff were awesome. We had a private room but shared amenities, room had fresh clean sheets and pillows. The bunk beds are solid. I'm roughly 85kg and I was able to climb up and down without any problems. The room we stayed in had a view of the carpark and a wall but it was fine and we were right next to the kitchen and bathroom. Bathroom and toilet are in the same room and there were two on the floor. You could hear the people in the kitchen but no biggie, its like being at home with the siblings. I did not have enough time to explore rooms, but take the stairs .. the rooms are not that high up that you need a lift unless you have a ton of luggage. Stairs is a much quicker option to reaching your room. Also be careful of taxi drivers when travelling from the bus stop to the backpackers as we were charged $40 after that we used the uber service or walked everywhere. I'm geographically challenged and go down the wrong corridors a lot, this place only has two flights so you cannot go wrong. All the information you need is on each floor, on the bulletin board in the kitchen. I'd definitely stay here again.

Booking was done directly on the Hotel's website. Check in from 2pm translated into checking in after 4pm over an hour after we arrived, we were simply instructed to go away and come back later! On the at least four occasions I was at the reception, I had to explain again to the same receptionist why I was there - to check in ! ! ! Reason given room was not ready, was lack of staff and a full house the night before LOL. Room provided was not what was booked, nor did it match what they advertise on their website. When we queried issues with staff we were passed to Manager, she said she would get back to us in a couple of minutes when she had checked our booking - that translated into over half an hour before she turned up at reception - after she was again called away from another activity. Her arrival took the form of wanting to book us in, totally disregarding she had promised to call us back. Even when I showed the Manager (a) Our Booking; AND (b) Room Info on their websiste, I was told I was wrong LOL . . . So we left. Payment was processed immediately, Credit took significantly longer to be processed, despite there being there being less than an hour between payment and refund. Several staff were covered with visible tattoos, they may have been excellent employees, but that is not everyone's cup of tea, to us, not at all professional for the hospitality sector.

If you want cheap and very basic this is your place! The advert says they have Sky but they do NOT - they just have two channels of standard tv. Unfortunately we’d specifically chosen this place to watch a competition on sky - but couldn’t watch it. The manager wasn’t very happy when we asked about it. Bathroom works well - smelt of smoke, the windows didn’t lock shut, which meant street noise, but there was a heater to compensate (be careful with small kids thou). You can hear what is happening in other rooms - bring earplugs. but it’s cheap $120/night, great location, the cleaning staff are lovely and so helpful (possibly the best part of the stay).
