Hotel berhampiran Selong Belanak Beach, West Praya

The reception staff are lovely and very friendly. Goowan (incorrect spelling, sorry) was very attentive. The room was excellent, very clean and well furnished. The night staff and grounds caretakers are also very friendly and work hard keep the place clean and well manicured. The food the restaurant serve is very good, but the menu is limited. We ate in the restaurant almost every evening, as we didn't realise there was other restaurants close by until the end of trip. Klub Kembali is 500metre away and serves fantastic food, cocktails and wine. The breakfast is good too and cooked to order, but similar to the all day menu, which ends at 9pm. The staff finish at 10pm but they will let you sit in the restaurant to relax or play chess. The staff are friendly but sometimes it was difficult to place an order. Sometimes it felt like we were bothering them. Tipping didn't change this. We had some lovely chats with the young a gentleman who served us sometimes. A main reason why we booked this hotel was for the very long pool to swim lengths, (maybe just under 25metres) which was great. You have to pick your time though because the water would smell a little off, as the day went on. Also this is child friendly hotel and the children were well behaved. There was no fridge in room and there seemed to be shortage of ice. We needed ice to keep lotions to bathe severe surfing sunburn. They did supply us with ice bucket but I think we had the only ice bucket.

ZamZam is a fantastic value! The hotel is simple and straightforward, but super comfortable. Selong Belanak beach is a bit further than I expected taking about 10 minutes to walk there from the hotel, but I rented a scooter easily enough to get around to some of the big surf breaks. I really enjoyed surfing at Serana and Mawi, which are both short and beautiful drives from the hotel. Tello the hotel manager is a super friendly, funny, and helpful man! His wife cooks delicious food as well! I liked it so much at ZamZam that I extended my original two nights and ended up staying eight nights in total!

Love the rooms, very clean, neat & comfy, with direct pool view and natural surrounding, it feels like your own home when you stay with family / friends. It also offers 2 floors restaurant & bar upstairs perfect for letting your hair down after full day of beach hopping or waterfalls hunting in this beautiful southern part of tropical Lombok island. Me, after long week of work, I enjoyed their spa treatments like full body massage & reflexology, make sure you book in advance to get reservation as spa etiquette. This pretty gem sits right by the main road, only 30 min from/to Lombok intl airport & Mandalika International Circuit that holds MotoGP Indonesia series, and this lovely tropical home-away-from-home is only in walking distance to the soft white sandy Selong Belanak beach which perfect for relaxed swimming, sunbathing and learning surfing. At their restaurant, one of my fav food is the steak and Indonesian food, enjoyed their big breakfast very much, completed with delicious coffee - they’re the only place having Expat Roasters (the well known specialty coffee producer in Indonesia owned by international award-winning barista). Oh and the Carrot Cake…A-MUST-TRY…home-made with passion by their owner herself. Not too mention Corn Fritters prepared with locally grown sweet corns, I could go on and on! From their bar, I love heir Caipiroska …freshly hand-picked lime muddled with sugar …yummmm! Not only for groups or couple, Bruga Villas with its Surf Kitchen is also suitable for solo-traveler as it feels safe, comforting and convenient. It is indeed perfect little gem for getaway and relaxation!

Ok, the photos are deceptive, this place is 800m from the beach. We had a free shuttle to make up for it. It’s a brand new development, we were confused as to what the intent is, failed time share, unit development or resort..ie, no reception.. The staff are very aware of this and go out of their way to provide excellent service. I’d stay here before Kuta! The villas are spacious and well appointed, great bang for the buck! Well suited for couples travelling together. There is their beach club to the left as you get to the beach, dodge it by going right to the resort and enjoy the sunset. BTW, the cows on the beach don’t appear daily, we couldn’t find out when they do show.

The staff could not be more helpful, superb service and arranged a fabulius driver for our day trip, booked spa treatments and airport transfers for us. Unfortunate that the facilities let them down, but for some I am sure being so at one with nature might be OK. Too rustic for my tastes. The accommodation has been spruced up after a long COVID closure, but has peeling paint and is tired in places. The shower had hot water 50% of the time but the water struggled to drain in my outdoor shower. The thatched roof looked lovely but my bed was covered in small bits of black at the end of every day and some large insects roamed through the space during my stay. The pool and outdoor area is nice, but not so you would stay poolside for a day. Restaurant is OK, for the reasonable price but is nothing special. Easy walking distance to the wonderful beach and nearby restaurants and bars.

The resort is small but the view reaches infinity; a sense of peace envelops the guest while the life of the fishermen and farmers unfolds around it as it has for centuries. I imagine that in the 70s Bali was like this. The beauty of this resort is that it offers only individual villas, each with its own terrace where it is possible to have treatments while being entertained by the sound of the sea and conditioned only by the breeze. The cuisine is excellent (the owner is a chef): lots of healthy extract and juices, great tuna and a 5-star cappuccino.

We've just returned from this wonderful place. We stayed for 7 days but could of easily stayed for a lot longer. Our room, the staff, the food were absolutely amazing. Oh, sorry, the owners as well were very friendly,helpful, and very knowledgeable. We had breakfast every day, which was lovely. My personal favourite was the muesli. Dinner was a delight. I think my favourite was either the burger or the green curry. Any way all the food was very good. We hired a scooter as we needed to get to kuta to watch the moto gp. The ride which took about 30 mins, was probably our most fun part. We were worried before we arrived that the hotel was a bit out the way, but once we had been out on the scooter we realised it was perfect. It's a short distance to some amazing beaches, and the ride is so scenic. We've already started to play our next trip. Hopefully see you soon Scott and Diane.
