Hotel Hampton by Hilton di Williamsburg

Because we enjoy golf, this was an excellent place to stay. We golfed the gold course twice and the green once. We enjoyed a few meals at the course as well. The timing for the other on site restaurants didn’t match our needs. The staff is very polite and helpful. Everyone greats you as you explore the grounds. It was nice staying in the center of Williamsburg and having that open access. I would have enjoyed a pool with the hotel, though, instead of a shared property pool.

Don’t let the color of the carpet in the picture lead you to believe this place is outdated as it’s night. This place is no nicely upkeep and furniture you can tell is replaced often and keep super clean. Staff was super friendly and always helped when needed, especially those running the amazing morning breakfast! Was surprised with the options in regards to waffle and granola and you grout toppings. The hotel overall felt clean and our room especially was. There is plenty of parking. Also the location is great and near so many good places to eat and downtown Williamsburg.

This is a budget hotel, and I take the economical price into account. This hotel is extremely dated, which would be fine for the price if they fixed broken items. The shower head only points straight down so you have to practically hug the wall to shower. That said, the bathroom was very clean. The carpets in the hallways are buckled and a trip hazard. They do not air condition the hallways OR the breakfast areas and they are uncomfortably hot. Inside the room, both chairs were broken and unsafe to sit in. The lampshade has stains on it. The ”double” beds are more like a twin plus.... My two kids barely fit in one. They give you 3 tiny pillows per bed, smaller than standard size. They were comfortable enough, if not difficult to not fall out of. Thankfully, the in room AC does work. Breakfast left much to be desired (even considering it was continental). The coffee tasted as if they put one coffee bean in for a whole pot (brown water). They had one juice that was unlabeled, and no cold water. The one waffle machine did work, but for a hotel full of guests, it took forever to get one. They ran out of paper plates. The eggs and sausage were your typical continental fare. but the milk for the cereal was not refrigerated, and was scary to use based on the temperature of the room. They also do not even offer cold waterbin the lobby which was disappointing considering the heat of summer. Also, the ehtire hotel has the lingering smell of cigarette smoke. Our non-smoking room was ok, but as soon as you enter any common area it is there. Do NOT stay here if you are sensitive to it. Overall, Id say spend a few dollars more for a different hotel.

My husband and I stayed here recently for our trip to Colonial Williamsburg. The convenience to the visitor's center can't be beat! It was very close to Colonial Williamsburg and the Merchant Square area. It was also pretty convenient to Jamestown and Yorktown. The people working at this motel were all very pleasant and friendly. The shower in our room was in bad condition and the shower curtain had black mildew stains on it. The room showed signs of plumbing leaks in the past and poor repair jobs. The fan in the bathroom was very dusty! They had a sign telling us that there was no breakfast - only coffee. However, my husband found that the coffee machine didn't really work. There was a coffee maker in the room, but there was no creamer so we didn't use it. Their ice machine said not to use it and to top things off we found a cockroach in our room. The fridge in the room was a very nice size and there was a microwave for reheating leftovers which was very nice! We are not usually picky travelers, but this place left a lot to be desired.
