Shiralee Bed and Breakfast

I stayed here last week. Ray was a lovely host, friendly and helpful. The B and B was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Highly recommended

always dealighted with this super friendly place and the people who run it are fantastic and accomodating too

Our party arrived on motorbikes to safe and convenient off road parking. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming, and Ray even phoned ahead and booked us a table at the local pub/restaurant which would otherwise meant we would have gone without dinner on our first night! Ideal spot for our visit to Thruxton to watch BSB motorcycle racing.

The place smells, i can't find a better way to say it. The inside and outside looks like a scrap yard. The room was surpridingly clean and the shower was also clean. I was told they don't have insurance to make me sleep during the day, because they have to run errands. I was working nights (healthcare)and back in the morning which csused so much drama. They are a lot of wooden cabins around the property. The couple are very loud borderline rude especially the wife. I ended up booking another hotel and cost of my 4 day trip was over 700 pounds. Never again....

The room we stayed in was very warm. Ray was most helpful especially when it came to Sat/Nav issues

We had a lovely stay at Shiralee. Ray and Fay are warm and friendly hosts and we had great chats with them. The room was well equipped and comfortable. Set in a beautiful and quiet location.

Received a warm welcome and had a nice stay. The place was excentric and if you have ocd you may struggle. But I loved it. Great breakfast

Ray is 10/10. Welcoming, friendly, helpful. Can't fault him. The pillow cases were slimy to touch (either grubby or too much conditioner, no idea) the floor in our room was dirty, bits stuck to my feet. The radiator was very dirty, I ran my finger along it and created a pile of dirt. Cobwebs galore! Blankets on the bed instead of a duvet so I'm guessing they're not washed in between guests. Shower was superb! The conservatory/restaurant had drapes all over it but were full of dead flies and moths. Literally hundreds of crockery pieces on display, all dusty. Cobwebs so large in the breakfast conservatory I thought big enough for a terrantula! The best bit was the dirty pair of ankle socks hanging on the restaurant door handle. Just gross. Our breakfast table had toast crumbs on from the previous people. The breakfast was awful, mushrooms were burnt and hard, how do you burn mushrooms? We ate at a local pub, upon entering we said where we were staying, the locals all laughed at us. If I could put Ray in a 5 star accommodation he'd be great, lovely man but his house contains too much stuff which is collecting dirt. He does however own some wonderful artefacts from around the world. Fascinating. We won't stay there again. Its not clean, at all. Sorry Ray.

Deep in the Wiltshire countryside with a lovely walk to the Pub. Very quiet area and run by a very welcoming, helpful and friendly couple. Modern, clean bathroom and room, but no area to hang clothes or set out belongings. However, it was only one night and there was still some painting to do on the bathroom doors, so I think it was still in progress. The beds were very comfortable and I would return if on the area again
