St Paul Hotel Wooster

The room was a disappointment. The carpet was old and looked dirty. Headboard of bed was ripped in many places. In the bathroom we expected a heated floor as advertised but it was not working. The shower stall had a rusty stool. It didn't give a good impression. We didn't feel our room was prepared for us. We had coffee to make but no cups to drink it in. I went to shower and only one wash cloth was avaliable. No instructions posted by the heating controls. We had to ask. Quite difficult to see symbols. Noisy heating fan above bed. Our room needs a mager makeover before I would reccomend anyone staying in this hotel.

Was in Wooster for an alumni event at the College of Wooster. Booked a queen deluxe room. 2nd time staying here. For anyone visiting Wooster for the 1st time or 100th time, and you have not stayed here, it is a must. The Hotel is amazing from check in to check out. Room was awesome, breakfast coffee and muffin hit the spot. Love this place and worth it anytime they have rooms available.

I knew at the moment I reached the locked doors after hours, that I’d found the perfect place to stay! A simple call had a staff member greeting me at the front door to check me in after 7 pm. She then proceeded to ask for my complimentary breakfast order, almost like “breakfast in bed”, she said. Traveling without my husband, I felt safe and secure in my room and the shower was so fun and upscale and that breakfast was just fantastic! I was only there for about 12 hours but I know I will definitely think about the St. Paul’s Hotel if I need accommodations in Wooster again!

Very friendly, helpful and cooperative staff. Cute little hotel in the middle of historic downtown Wooster. Very clean, fresh and modern. Walking distance from many shops and restaurants in the area. Fifteen minutes walk from the College of Wooster. They don’t have buffet breakfast but they do give a list of items to choose and it is put right outside our door! We had a great experience , would highly recommend.

What an incredible gem!!! We come to Wooster a few times a year for business and decided to give this hotel a try. We both thought - WOW!! In Wooster of all places!!! Not only is the hotel modern yet historic, quirky and cool, but it’s downtown in the little historic district surrounded by cool little restaurants and bars and shops to explore. We stayed in a beautiful suite and felt it was really comfortable. The temperature was great, it was clean, the bed was perfect although my husband thought it was pretty hard. Two beautiful tasty sugar cookies were on the dresser to welcome us. Loved that my husband walked into the bathroom and picked up the remote and said “What the hell is this for?” Turns it on and it was a little TV screen in the mirror so you can watch whatever while showering! Lol love it! The shower was great too and big enough for both of us - tmi We also loved that they dropped off breakfast with a soft knock at the door and left it on a tray stand. Cons: the elevator was so slow that we actually arrived at the hotel originally in December of 2022 and got to the third floor in April of 2023. So we missed a lot but were able to get caught up on the news through our shower TV. Ok exaggerating. But only a bit. If you’d like to take a vacation from life and disappear from your toxic family, enter the time warping elevator at the St Paul and Zen out for a bit to reset yourself. Namaste my friend. Namaste Another little con is that although I loved the breakfast delivery and the hot coffee dropped off - very nice - the bagel and English muffin were mediocre. It would be a great opportunity if the hotel would partner with one of the local bakeries to pick up some freshly baked treats instead. Extra work I know but would be a win win perhaps? Also note that if you check in after 8pm the door is locked and you need to call them to let you in.

We used to LOVE the St. Paul. Ten years ago, it was cool, new, trendy, and the place to stay in Wooster. Now, it is a very dilapidated, worn down, shabby old building. We were so excited to stay here for a long weekend but ended up checking out after one night and moving to a Hilton property. From the filthy and stained carpets to the scuffed walls, torn furniture, mold in the shower, broken tile, non-functioning heated floors, HEAVILY scented room air (to which I had a severe allergic reaction), and broken TV, the $180 we paid was almost criminal. And, there is NO housekeeping. Not 'optional' or 'by request' housekeeping, NO housekeeping. If you would like clean linens, you must ***** your own bed and bag your towels and put them all outside the door. Same for trash. Which means the teeny tiny hallways are full of bags of garbage and dirty linens at times. The young woman who checked us in was phenomenal. It is really too bad there has been ZERO maintenance since this property opened. Even the stainless steel fixtures and shower surround had rust and grime on them. And, we had forgotten there are 2 outlets in the entire room not already being used - making it very difficult to charge devices while using any other item needing electricity. The very large coffee maker/tea tray on the desk takes up the entire desktop and is plugged NOT into a wall outlet, but into a multi outlet adapter that is behind the smelly little refrigerator in the wall unit. I had to remove the refrigerator, pull out the adapter, unplug the coffee maker and thread the cord back through a cut out hole in the wall unit so I could 'clear' a space to use the desktop. Completely filthy, gross, and dangerous. The mattress was very saggy with zero structure. Likely the original (making it over 10 years old). We love the location, the concept, and the people, but this property is run down, dirty, small, smelly, and beat up.

This is a gorgeous hotel in a renovated historic building. Everything about our stay was first class. I especially appreciated how careful they were with covid protocols. The City Square restaurant catty corner from the hotel had a delicious steak dinner that we got as carry out, and the hotel provided us with steak knives. It’s a little pricey, but worth it.

We came for a night for our 10th anniversary, and it was a relaxing break. It was great being able to walk to the wine bar next door and to multiple restaurants in downtown Wooster, as well as interesting looking shops. We really enjoyed the contemporary but comfortable style of the room, as well as the little boutique extras like welcome snacks and cookies in the room. The shower had great water pressure and multiple options. We also felt really spoiled by the breakfast delivered to our door, exactly on time. Would definitely consider returning for another getaway!
