Furong Town Pillow Star Homestay

Generally it’s a good hotel. Against what other reviews stated, there was no pick-up or drop-off service. Or at least it wasn’t actively offered to us. We couldn’t get in contact with the hotel before check-in since we are foreigners and don’t have a Chinese phone number. The messages on Trip.com were not read. It’s not too bad but maybe a thing to note. It is possible to take DiDi from and to the railway station for less than 20 yuan. The DiDi takes you to the scenic area entrance where you have to show/buy a ticket. After that you have to walk a little bit to reach the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel, we were offered a room with a window facing the lobby which was not the river-view room depicted on the website. After asking the owner, we got the right room which looked like the pictures on the top floor with a terrace facing the ancient town. The room itself was spacious and relatively clean. I saw some stains on the ground in the bathroom but I didn’t want to look too closely. We also had some troubles using the toilet flush. After telling the owner, she said we should just wait but the situation did not improve after waiting 30 minutes so we just fixed the problem ourselves. I think the use of all water resources is only available during a certain time period of the day. It was possible to take a hot shower in the evening and morning and the aircondition is quite strong. From the hotel, you can enter straight into the the core scenic area, it’s about 10-15 minutes walk to the big waterfalls.

Really big room, a 4 minutes walk far from the center of the ancient city

The hotel provided free pickup & drop off service to the railway station. He was very friendly and handy, helping with the luggages. The room is cozy. The location is unbeatable, close to old street and waterfalls. We would love to recommend this home stay to everyone.
