Hotel terbaik di York

We stayed at the principal York for one night. We booked an urban room (rm 111). Upon arrive to York we are early and we were able to leave our baggage secure at the hotel until we checked in at 3.pm. The staff were very friendly and helpful. After a walk into to York, down the shabbiest etc. we returned to the hotel and booked in. The room was small but just right for one nights stay. Thank goodness for the fan as it was very warm and stuffy. We ate out in York, but had breakfast the next day. It was both cooked and continental. Very nice too! We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was tasteful decorated and although they had a wedding it was peaceful.

The location is great. It’s by the riverside with a beautiful view. It’s also close to tourist attractions. The twin room is large and the shower is powerful and hot enough. Staff are friendly. The hotel also provides buffet breakfast in English and continental styles.

The hotel has a great location, it is behind a city wall just next to the railway station, takes actually less than 5 minutes' walk. And don't believe the Google map because it will lead you to a longest walk. Instead ask the staff for a shorter path. And only 10 minutes walk to the York minister. The staff are nice and friendly. Breakfast is delicious. We spent a lovely day at York.

Booked here for 3 nights. Pictures on internet look fine along with most reviews. But when arrived. Greeted by jason and was told to leave bags downstairs while he checked us in. Took us in a room which was very dated and chairs were badly ripped. (This is the dining area) (Not the best first impression) but jason sorted out the parking permit for us. Then asked what we want for breakfast. Full english and we had to have the same for 3 mornings. . And time of breakfast had to be same time each morning. .Anyway got keys to rooms. Room 6 . Opened door . Room was full of dust. Had a look round and it wasnt cleaned at all. Beds weren't made properly and floor was filthy. Extension cable inbetween 2 single beds. . Wardrobe you couldnt open because it is so close to bed. Dressing table stool couldnt pull it out properly because other bed was in way. Then bathroom . It was disgusting. There were hairs on floor along with plenty of dust. Built up of grime on the shower in corners. Shower which was electric ,it was hot but not much pressure from it. We would of walked away but we were with friends who had booked it and paid up front. At breakfast we went at our set time for the door to be wedged so we couldnt get in. Anyway door opened. Couple of mins later. Toast already on table which was stone cold. with coffee and tea. There were another table for two and their food was on table but hadnt got gown yet. Not good. When we poured coffee it was luke warm. Told the lady and she wasnt very happy. Her response was. Cant be ive just done it . She grabbed it and walked away. She returned with another which was hot but said nothing. Kitchen door was left open and all you could here was a conversation between her and her colleague. Life stories. The kitchen didnt look the most hygienic. Luckily we only used the place to get head down. Beds were awful. Very lumpy and duvet full of bobbles. After 2 nights of having to stay we had to leave couldnt cope with another night in the place. There were lots of other things but i would be writing forever. CERTAINLY WOULD NOT BE RETURNING!!!! Overall, it's quite quiet, the curtains are very sunshade, and the breakfast is delicious. The location is not far from York's attractions and can be reached within walking distance. I do not find the room picture, so I post a picture around the hotel.

Great location outside of York city centre and very easy access from main roads. There is a park and ride service about half a mile down the road which is highly recommended as parking in York can be difficult and expensive. Park and ride journey time is around ten minutes and drops you off close to the Shambles area of town. The accommodation was basic but clean. Bed was comfortable, Shower was very powerful and plenty of towels. Large screen TV. Breakfast was limited but very nice and set us up for the day. The only downside about the accommodation was that it would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room to keep water etc, there was plenty of space to have one. Also it would have been nice to have had a small sofa to watch tv in the evenings as the two desk chairs were not comfortable to sit on for any length of time. Also the walls were very thin as other room noise even conversations could be heard. There is also a Toby Inn next door which does really nice food and various ales.

Everything are nice, lovely environment and good service. Highly recommend to everyone to stay.

My 11 year old son and I stayed at The Grand in York for two nights for sightseeing. There is an NCP car park on the same street, which gets patrons 10% discount and it secure. It’s about 12 minutes walk to York Minster Cathedral and about the same to Jorvik Viking Centre-utterly perfect location! The hotel is beautiful and staff are professional, but friendly and we’re super attentive to my overly keen and chatty son!❤️☺️ The pool is lovely and has a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna with treatment rooms. We also stumbled across The Cookery School, so we booked a Parent/Child 3 hour cookery lesson for £65 and made and ate Ravioli and Raspberry Semi-fresco-a new experience, but we are both sold and already looking to return! So much to see in beautiful York and this is the perfect location to do it from ❤️☺️

I cannot fault anything about the stay, although I didn't have the opportunity to try the food as I only arrived late in the evening and I was out early the next day. The standard single room was perfectly adequate for my needs, with a lovely bathroom and a wonderful shower. I was able to park right outside the door and the staff I spoke to were very polite and helpful. I will happily stay at this hotel again in the future.

Nice staff. We asked for early check-in so the staff tried to find the rooms for us. Fortunately, there was the available rooms so we could have early check-in to keep our luggage before going out.
