Hotel Holiday Inn di Zapopan

Dato che questa era la prima volta che andavo a Guadalajara, ho apprezzato le facce cordiali e sorridenti di tutto il personale. Gli addetti alla reception, i fattorini e il direttore di sala del ristorante parlavano un inglese sufficientemente buono da permetterci di comunicare. Inoltre si sono dimostrati davvero pazienti e comprensivi con me mentre mi esercitavo con lo spagnolo. Non si sono mai stufati di fornirci assistenza mentre decidevamo cosa andare a vedere e dobbiamo aver chiesto loro indicazioni stradali cinque volte al giorno! I piatti preparati dal ristorante dell’albergo sono ottimi e dal prezzo ragionevole e, di nuovo, i camerieri sono incredibilmente cortesi e premurosi. Cosa molto importante, il posto è pulito e sicuro, infatti ci siamo sentiti veramente tranquilli. Anche la piscina era pulita, calda e circondata da un bellissimo giardino. Insomma, questo era per noi il posto ideale da usare ogni giorno come punto di partenza per raggiungere poi le attrazioni più interessanti, il centro storico, i mercati, i ristoranti a gestione familiare e la campagna. Riassumendo, questo è un albergo perfetto per passarci la notte, sicuro, accogliente e con un’atmosfera familiare.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Guadalajara Patria Universidad for five days recently, and I would never go back. The walls of the shower had hair from the previous guests, the blankets were stained, and the AC didn’t work properly. I used the hotel iron once to iron a dress shirt and it stained the shirt. The most significant incident was my STOLEN jacket. After returning to the hotel from being out a few hours, and the only time we requested the room cleaned, I realized my jacket was missing from the room, specifically from the closet where it was left. I informed the front desk of the situation and they were very nonchalant about the incident. I had to insist for them to take any type of action, and when they finally did, their resolution was an email about the incident to I assume hotel management. The next day I inquired again about the jacket and they asked me for my email and phone number in case they had an update, but I was never contacted again or given an update upon checkout. Approximately five days later, I called to follow up and the front desk said that they were aware about the incident but after seeing the footage of the hotel cameras they didn’t see anyone taking the jacket. Of course, if you’re stealing something from a room, you’re not going to let the cameras see you. That was the extent of their action. I never even received a call back to apologize for the incident, or any update if I hadn’t called back. The jacket had huge sentimental value, and I know now I’m never getting it back, but the minimum that I was expecting was an update, apology, some type of action or that they were at least trying, but it was clear they didn’t care. I highly recommend that if you can avoid this hotel, please do so at all costs!
