Hotel berhampiran St. Donatian＇s Cathedral, Zeebrugge

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst on a cycling tour. My husband was feeling unwell and we needed to arrange for an electric bike for the second week. Geert (reception) was amazingly helpful in talking to the bike hire company who between the two of them magicked up an electric bike in time for our departure. Geert went above and beyond what you would expect from reception. Also Benoit was very kind and patient in explaining the foibles of an electric bike to us, in addition the room and breakfast were great. Thank you

Decent location if you want to be near the train station and don’t mind a short walk to the town. Access to the hotel on foot is slightly confusing at first as you have to go through a large car park, but it is very close. We stayed for 2 nights. Generally staff we interacted with during the stay were polite and friendly. They were happy to answer questions and help us book a restaurant. The common areas of the hotel are lovely and modern. Free lemon water is provided in a dispenser in reception along with Biscoff lotus biscuits. The bar is nice for a drink before heading out for dinner. The room wasn’t huge but ok given we were going to be out most of the time anyway. No robes or slippers were provided - which we have had in other 4 star hotels in Europe. Also, the plug socket on one side of the bed didn’t work. The room has a nespresso machine (though only disposable paper cups are provided). Although the machine did the job, the plastic tank where the water goes was cracked and there was no lid. Someone needs to regularly go around all the rooms and check everything is in good order. The shampoo/shower gel products are lovely and they do actually provide bath salts which many other hotels don’t. But we had to give feedback regarding the cleanliness and replenishment of toiletries. The floor in the room and bathroom needs to be vaccumed properly as I could see there were a few crumbs and things (when we first entered). When I asked about this they said it gets done before new guests check in but not daily thereafter. The tissue box in the bathroom had one or two scrunched tissues sitting on top of it(?) Just fill the actual box up! This hotel isn’t a bad option for Bruges but don’t go in with super high expectations. As we were there for a short trip we didn’t get too hung up on things but really the attention to detail in respect of the rooms needs to be improved for the price.

The facial tissue run out only 2 left, I had to ask at the front desk, kind of unusual for a 5 star hotel, not paying attention to such service. And we paid over $200 per night. Hmmm

Visiting Bruges for the first time, I recently stayed at Hotel Sablon for two nights with a friend. The hotel is located in a fantastic location walking distance to all the main attractions, shopping and dining, but the best part is that the hotel is on a very quiet street so it is removed from the crowds and noise. Hotel Sablon is very charming with a beautiful outdoor courtyard space with lovely design features throughout the hotel. With great indoor and outdoor seating, the hotel gets wonderful natural light throughout. The dining room for breakfast is beautiful and they offer a delicious breakfast with even gluten free options. The hotel staff is warm and friendly with great suggestions and recommendations on restaurants and more. The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed. I will definitely stay at Hotel Sablon if and when I return to Bruges and highly recommend the hotel!

The concierge staff is very nice and friendly. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. The stay was good overall. However, the cleaning lady entered my room twice in the morning although I was scheduled to check out on that day. While I had no doubt that she was only trying to do the cleaning without ulterior intentions, it did raise my alarm on the safety protocols of the hotel. Cleaning staff should not follow a policy of “ask for forgiveness rather than approval” when it comes to entering guest rooms. Also the luggage storage was self-help and open to public meaning that anyone could take any luggage without no question asked. It might be safer if a tag could be provided for the stores luggage.

Wij bezoeken regelmatig steden. In dit geval Brugge. Hierbij een hotel gevonden welk de waarde, uitstraling en authentiek is als geen ander. Dan spreek ik nog geen eens over de gastvrijheid en warmte die Hans en zijn echtgenote ons als gast hebben doen beleven. Een kamer waar niets ontbreekt. Uitermate schoon, airco, apart toilet en badkamer. De inrichting is met respect en met voelbare liefde voor de geschiedenis van het gebouw gerealiseerd. Ik benoem de mooie stoelen, het bed met historie naar Italiaanse Lucca. En met de moderne aanpassingen van deze tijd. Regendouche, dubbele beglazing, led tv en karakteristieke meubelen. Het uitgebreide ontbijt wordt geserveerd in het oudste deel (14e eeuw) van het hotel en niet alleen door de talloze broodjes, beleg, vers fruit maar zelfs zonder het ontbijt is al een belevenis. Kortom fantastisch en wij komen hier zeker nog .. keren terug.
