Hotel berhampiran Abbey of the Holy Cross, Zivogosce

Went with my partner. No children. So liked the fact that there was not many facilities there for them so it does not attract and hope it never does those sorts of loud people with noisy screaming kids, that belong at a rough and ready resort in Spain, there was mainly the older generation who want a peaceful and relaxing stay, with no noise, the lifts were small but that's so you couldn't take up your wet inflatables in the lift, we had no balcony, the double room was not the biggest or bathroom, I been in but you don't go on holiday to stay in a hotel room all day. Food was excellent, fresh, every where was spotless, staff were superb, I know we didn't go in peak season but every thing in peak season is going to be under pressure and over crowded and stretched so what do people who go at that time of year expect. People who don't have children should not put up with hearing them screaming. And out of control and parents do nothing theses days to discipline them. And if the hotel does not offer what their kids want then they should enquire before they book. If the hotel is not kid friendly and that is what you want, don't moan that this hotel is not because it is not that sort of place. The beach is on the door step, a pebble beach, to note. I knew that before booking. Friendly place and people and safe. And not many little babies, few school age children. Stayed at the resort, didn't do any trips, just relaxed by the pool and on the beach. Weather hot for the whole two weeks, so was very lucky which always helps, needed some sun, coming from England. First holiday I had since COVID. So deserved it. Went 25 sept for two weeks. Loved it and most certainly be back. Peace and quiet.

This hotel is a hidden gem in the beautiful port town of Makarska. This was our first visit to Croatia and this hotel but we will definatley return. The Hotel is exactly as decribed but so much more beautiful than the photos convey. Its nestled in the corner of the port just accross from the main street of restraunts and bars. The staff were welcoming and so helpful in so many ways including advice about trips and excursions. The rooms are spacious and the sea views are spectacular definatley worth it. We had chosen B&B the breakfast was plentiful with an excellent variety, something for everyone. All fresh and constantly replaced. We chose to eat in the restaurant for lunch and dinner a number of times. The restaurant is located at the front of the hotel with the view of the port, they have created privacy but with the beauty of the views. The food was of excellent standard hence us choosing to eat here despite Makarska having a number of beautiful restaurants to choose from. I wish to highlight we never once heard any noise at all from the nightclub. We heard passers by on the odd occasion but nothing disruptive. The party boat does occasionally have loud noise but it is only when docking, this would not in anyway spoil anyones holiday in my opinion and would like to allay any concerns anyone looking at this hotel may have becuase of other reviews. Everyone we spoke to at the hotel all enjoyed their stay and complimented the hotel. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

We were staying with small kids off-season and we are absolutely satisfied with our stay. The food is excellent, very good selection, tasty, much better than even in some 5 star hotels. The SPA area is excellent and staff there were very nice. Parking available, rooms excellent, clean, comfortable.. We have also received a kids step stool and toilet seat adapter, as well as shampoos and soaps for kids, which pleasantly surprised us. The Maro club for kids deserves special praise and the staff in it is for every recommendation. We owe a special thanks to Eva, Dora, Elena and a guy from the Maro club. Our kids have never had so much fun and brought back so many wonderful memories. 💖💖💖💙 Also, Perisa and others at the reception are very nice... The location of the hotel is excelent👌 All in all, we felt very comfortable and happy at Valamar Meteor Hotel and hope to come again.

Makarska ist wunderschöner Ort und ein 5* Hotel hier muss den Besucher*innen helfen Ihre Urlaubszeit vielseitig zu genießen. Für uns war dieses Hotel - ein Ort der Widersprüchlichkeiten. Viele gute Ideen mit schlechter Durchsetzung. Zwei Rezeptionistinnen haben uns ohne besondere Freude empfangen. Eine hat die andere beim Erzählen der Hausregeln immer unterbrochen und hat ”hast du 300EUR Kaution gebucht?” mehrfach wiederholt. Ein versprochenes Geschenk meinem Kind von der Rezeption haben wir auch nie gesehen. Unprofessionell! Das kulinarische Angebot war sehr schwach und abwechslungslos. Viel gebratenes Essen und ”künstliche” Desserts. Im Familienhotel kein Kindermenü und Kinderbesteck! Das Preiskonzert ist fassungslos - Cola (0,5l) 7 EUR etc. Wir haben hier keine ”richtige” Animation für Kinder gesehen. Das Hotel hat ein Animationsclub mit einem täglich wechselnden Programm. In der Realität es war nur klassisches Babysitting, wo nichts von dem erwähnten Programm gemacht wurde. Kinderdisco am Abend ist eher für größere Kinder gedacht. Wir empfehlen den Indoor Pool des Hotels. Hier war überwiegend ruhig und gemütlich. Ein absolutes No-Go war der Kinder Pool. Hier war das Wasser immer sehr!!! kalt. Der Poolbereich ist von der Sonne gedeckt, so wärmt sich das Wasser sehr langsam. ABER! Wir möchten uns ganz herzlich bei der Kellnerin Maria K. für ihren erstklassigen Service bedanken. Sie war nicht nur bei den Frühstücks/Abendessen stets kompetent, sondert auch unserer Tochter (2 Jahre) eine echte Freundin geworden. Wir wünschen Maria K. für ihre weitere Karriere in Aminess Hotel alles Gute und weiterhin viel Erfolg!
