Wir waren im Juni 2022 das zweite Mal hier und wieder sehr zufrieden. Wir sind viel unterwegs und lieben sog. „Boutique-„ und eben die besonderen Hotels. Dieses von den Inhabern geführte Haus verdient seinen Namen zu 100%, jedes Zimmer ist besonders und anders Designer, ein echter Hingucker in jeder Ecke. Die Ausstattung ist nicht auf dem allerneusten Stand - der Charme des Hauses macht das aber klar wett! Uns ist aufgefallen, dass die Sanitärobjekte (wenigstens in den Zimmern, die wir kennen) Schäden an der Oberfläche haben, sicher ein kleiner Makel, der demnächst behoben wird. Der einwandfreien Sauberkeit macht dies keinen Abbruch, da gibt es nichts zu bemängeln. Unser Tipp: wenn man wirklich etwas finden sollte, was einem nicht gefällt: mit dem Personal reden, dieses hat immer ein offenes Ohr und reagiert auf jeden Fall! Und damit sind wir auch schon bei der zweiten Besonderheit: den Menschen in diesem Hotel! Mehr ehrliche Freundlichkeitund echtes Bemühen um die GÄSTE, die hier eben nicht nur KUNDEN sind, geht nicht. We were driving home from a holiday in Bohemia and were just looking for somewhere to stay overnight. Duren is not really on the tourist trail and when you visit the place you can see why, but it is very well located for an overnight stay when travelling. It has little to offer although it is entirely adequate for an overnight stopover. With all this in mind, we arrived at the Durens Posthotel, which we had chosen on the basis of price. We were very pleasantly surprised. Service at the reception was friendly and efficient and we were delighted to be told that we had been allocated the ”suite” at the top of the hotel. It wasn't so much a suite but rather a large attic room and an enormous bathroom. We felt that you could probably achieve your 10,000 steps a day by simply walking to and from the bathroom a few times! Wifi was provided and worked well. Decor was okay but the window blinds were not of the blackout type. Outdoor parking is available but they have a garage for which they charge 9Euros 50 a night. We had a lot of stuff in the car and preferred the added security that this brought. Sadly and presumably due to Covid, the hotel bar and restaurant were not open on the evening that we arrived so we went for a walk in the town (the hotel is fairly centrally located) to find a restaurant. We ate at La Taverna restaurant which was superb and we will review separately. There was a large vending machine in the stairwell and amongst other things, it dispensed beer. A group of other residents were enjoying a few bottles on the terrace outside. Breakfast was adequate for content but superb for service. The young lad looking after the breakfast service was charming. He spoke excellent English and told us just how much he enjoyed James Bond films. Would we stay there again? You betcha!

Een hele mooie plek om te overnachten. Wij hebben het gecombineerd met een bezoek aan Phantasialand. Met de auto 5 min rijden en lopend ongeveer 20/25 min. Ontvangst receptie was uiterst vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Kreeg duidelijk uitleg, wilde eventueel een restaurant bellen om te reserveren toen ik vroeg naar de diner opties intern. Ze hebben (gratis) kleine hapjes die je mag pakken. Het is wat mij betreft zeker geen avond eten waardig maar dat zeggen ze zelf ook. Op de gangen gratis water en water met bubbels. Tegen een kleine vergoeding ook andere (fris en alcoholische) dranken te verkrijgen. Je schrijft je kamernummer op, met daarbij wat je zelf uit de koelkast hebt gepakt en met het uitschenken wordt het verrekend. Onze kamer was op de eerste verdieping en het was warm! Geen airco, en alleen de raam open was geen optie ivm muggen, vliegen en wespen. Tv deed het niet. WiFi deed het perfect op de kamer. Douch was fijn en het was ‘s avonds en in de nacht stil. Ontbijt was prima en voor ieder wat wils. Parkeren is gratis.

Vlot berijkbaar en ligt ook juist buiten de lage emissiezone. Dus geen groene sticler nodig om hierheen te rijden. De kamers zijn groot genoeg en proper genoeg. Verwarming, airco, zwembad, sauna,... Lekker ontbijtje met alles wat je wil. Op 5 minuutjes stappen van het tramstation en op kwartiertje ben je dan in het centrum. Heel vriendelijk personeel.
