"Brilliant stay at Le Grand Balcon - only reason I knocked it down to 4* (and in reality it was more 4.8) was the state of the carpet in the room. Looked like it has been piecemealed together, had what looked like blood near the bed, and needed another hoover. Other than that, facilities were excellent, staff were super friendly and it’s in SUCH a good location. Carpet wouldn’t stop me staying there again, that’s for sure!"

"Pros: It was clean and very quiet and the bed was very comfortable. There are a big supermarket called Leclerc, lots of shops and restaurants, and even a movie theater 10 minutes away from the hotel. Cons: Although it was clean in general, the floor of a bathroom could have been clean more. (I could see hairs as soon as I arrived)"

"I stayed here for a total of 3 nights and 4 days. The staff were very friendly, the location was the best, the facilities were good, and the price was not expensive. In particular, it is a 10-minute walk from the train station, there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel, and Narbonne's representative cathedral and historic site are close. "Hôtel propre et agréable. Très bien situé, on peut se déplacer dans le centre de Toulouse complètement à pieds ou prendre le métro à 2 minutes à pieds . Nous étions dans une chambre PMR. Elle est tout à fait adéquate dans cette situation, haute de plafond ce qui donne l' impression d' avoir de l'espace. Le seul petit bémol est la salle de bain avec son problème de fuite au sol, mais nous avons prévenu le personnel qui a vite réagi en venant faire le ménage. Malgré sa situation au bord du trottoir, nous n' avons pas été gêné par le bruit. Par contre, le petit déjeuner pourrait être amélioré, certes il y avait du choix, mais je m' attendais à une qualité supérieur ( pas de pain frais le matin mais des biscottes, l' armoire fraîcheur sentait le rance, machine à chocolat pas très fonctionnelle). Là, je vais vraiment dans le détail, mais c' est le petit plus qui aurait fait 5 étoiles. Je recommande tout de même cet hôtel, nous avons été très bien accueillis et le personnel a été à l' écoute de nos différentes demandes. Merci à eux."

"Très content de la personne qui gère cet hôtel et qui à su être à mon écoute, en effet un problème au moment de récupérer la chambre, le code de réservation était pas valide, j'ai donc demander assistance, et là surprise il me fallait payer la chambre pour avoir le code qui me permettais d'accéder à l'hôtel, hors cette chambre était déjà payer via Trip.com, avec preuve à l'appuis puisque que Trip.com avait prélever la somme sur Paypal et que la somme était aussi retiré sur mon compte de banque, bref si la personne qui s'occupe de cet hôtel ne m'avait proposé une alternative, et bien j'aurais du dormir dans ma voiture, alors je ne connais pas son prénom mais je l'en remercie encore. pour de ce qui est de l'hotel je le recommande, en plein centre ville avec parking souterrain grader, hôtel très propre, spacieux au niveau de la chambre, et literie confortable, personnel au top rien à rajouté."

The hotel was exactly as the photos showed. I was surprised to be asked for 150 euros deposit, This needs to be more transparent before booking. It’s difficult to find where this wording appears. Also my room on the 5 floor was almost impossible to sleep in due to very strong cooking smells permeating my room, from where I’m not sure. A shame because the hotel is very convenient for the main railway station in Toulouse.

Hotel have great location and just walk distance to Lourdes Sanctuary. Receptions staff friendly and quick response with our request. We have experience the aircon does not work in the afternoon and water heater does not work in the early morning. Hope they could better in the future.

Here’s a clearer, more polished version of your review while keeping your honest tone: ⸻ B&B Hotel Toulouse – Review The hotel is in a great location for visiting Cité de l’Espace. We were able to park at the hotel and walk to the attraction, which was very convenient. The staff we encountered were lovely, and the room was very clean. There was also good free Wi-Fi and a wall-mounted TV. However, there were several drawbacks. We arrived at 9pm and found there were no staff on site. Instead, we had to use a digital check-in system to obtain codes for both the building and our room. As there were two of us, the system required separate details and email addresses for each guest before issuing the code, which was frustrating after a long journey. The restaurant next door was closed (it doesn’t open on weekends or public holidays), so we had to walk over a mile to find food, which wasn’t ideal late in the evening. The air conditioning was ineffective, it made a lot of noise but didn’t actually blow any cool air. We ended up opening the windows, but it was a very hot night, so this didn’t help much. The bedding wasn’t 100% cotton, which made it uncomfortable in the heat. Finally, the shower was extremely small and wouldn’t be suitable for a larger person. No carpets in the rooms.

I arrived in the evening after a long train journey. The receptionist whose English was brilliant immediately put me at my ease, giving me all sorts of useful information - including where to get a meal and how to get out from the garden side. My room was across the garden and largely unlit so it was a bit of an adventure getting there the first time. The decor and facilities in the room itself were a little 1960ish., though it did have an iron and ironing board so I was able to neaten myself up before going out. I did feel a little nervous using the shower as the bath was plastic and I’m a large old guy. I found getting in and out slightly tricky. Breakfasts were good though.Montpellier itself was strange - lots of grandiose architecture but not much shade. The old town was slightly disappointing somehow (but then I was only there for a couple of days). Leaving was complicated by another national day of (in)action. When I heard that the tram I needed to get to Montpellier Sud de France station had been held up by the demonstrators in town, reception came to the rescue and ordered me a taxi so I was able to get the train back. So to sum up a quirky hotel with terrific staff.

The location is fantastic! It's an 8-minute walk to the train station and a 9-minute walk to the bus station. The Capitol Square is just 12 minutes away, and the river is about a 15-minute walk. There's a Lidl supermarket right across the street, and a Carrefour City about 2 minutes away. I've been to Toulouse dozens of times, and I can't believe I never noticed this place before. It's right off the main street, with plenty of dining options and easy access to public transport. The hotel also has a 24-hour front desk! The air conditioning in the room works great, and while the shower stall is small, the water temperature and pressure are excellent. For the price, it's a really good deal! There's also a small kitchen corner with a microwave and other basic appliances in the downstairs restaurant. The only downside is that it's an old building without an elevator (though the staircase is beautiful). We stayed at Hôtel Golf Fontcaude for more than a week during winter, and overall, it left a very clear impression of being well maintained and thoughtfully equipped. The first thing that really stood out was how clean everything was. The rooms, common areas—everything felt spotless and well cared for. That sense of cleanliness immediately made the stay more comfortable and reassuring. The hotel is also well equipped, especially with the many rooms featuring a kitchenette. For a longer stay like ours, this made a huge difference. Being able to prepare simple meals and settle into a routine gave the place a practical, almost apartment-like feel. That said, staying there in winter came with one small drawback. The floor was quite cold, and without carpet, it was noticeable—especially in the mornings. It didn’t ruin the experience, but it’s something worth knowing if you’re visiting during the colder months. Overall, Hôtel Golf Fontcaude felt clean, functional, and well suited for longer stays, particularly if you value space and self-catering. A warm pair of slippers in winter would definitely make it even better.

The room wasn't large, but it was fully equipped. The hallway and lobby were a bit basic and dirty, but the room was fairly clean. There was also a small refrigerator. There was a washing machine on the basement floor, but you had to download an app to use it for a fee, and there was only one; it wasn't very clean. Everything else was fine.

Exceptional location about 150m from the sanctuary, surrounded by many locals and restaurants. In front of the hotel you can borrow wheelchairs if there were people with disabilities. Good breakfast international. A friendly and available staff, I will advise you and I will certainly return to you.

Everything with the hotel is excellent. Check in staff and house keeping are nice. One thing needs consideration is to resume provisions of bath mat in the shower room. Its a safety measurements. The bath tub is slippery when the shower is on. Amenities like toothpaste, tooth brush, slippers could be saved but safety measurements could not be sacrifice.

I arrived early and was allowed to leave my bag in the storage room before check-in, although I would have appreciated a bit more assistance instead of just being directed there. The check-in process itself was smooth and efficient. I was attended by Margie, who was very helpful and friendly. She gave useful tips about the area and information about activities in the sanctuary, which I really appreciated. As for the amenities, I wasn’t aware that towels were not included, so I had to pay extra for them. The room was also a bit cold, and I wasn’t sure if the heater was working properly, although there was an extra throw provided. The toilet was clean, but it would be better to have a separate hand soap by the sink instead of using the same product provided in the shower for both shampoo and body wash. The food (dinner buffet) was very good, though I think it could be more affordable and offer a wider variety of options. Overall, I had a pleasant stay, and the biggest highlight was the hotel’s accessibility to the sanctuary.
