My trip was totally ruined by the end/check out. Upon checking out they asked me to settle a £36 bill. I queried this as the previous night I ate in the Luna Dome but had paid the bill after my meal. I was advised by the receptionist that the drinks bill related to my first night's stay, where 3 drinks were ordered in the Titan Bar, then shoved a signed receipt in my face. The signature was not mine but it did have the same surname as my mum, who was also present for my weekend stay. It definitely was NOT my mum's signature but the receptionist clearly did not believe me, so as embarrassing as the whole situation was, with a queue gathering behind me, I had to bring my mum into reception to explain. My mum explained that she had not been in the Titan Bar, never mind order £36 worth of drinks! We were experiencing a chilled out weekend away with my 2 year old daughter, not on a boozy weekend. When queried why the bill was stapled to our room number, we were advised that due to the hotel being cashless, patrons simply sign a receipt and staff match it too guests who stay surnames! What!? So you merely play snap with bills and patrons surnames? If your a Smith/Jones, good luck, dread to think how many bills you'll be hit with. What was a lovely weekend away, was ruined in the last 5 minutes.

Stayed at Craigendarroch for the first time and also first timeshare exchange visit. We were very pleased with our choice. The resort location was great.Lovely scenery and nearby walks into Ballater town and local walks. We had a suite which which was very comfortable and good size with all the facilities we needed. The small kitchenette was sufficient for doing our own breakfasts. We ate in the Lounge bar and The Brasserie over 4 days in our 1 week stay. The food was very good and the staff friendly and helpful. The leisure facilities we really enjoyed; nice pool and steam room and sauna were very good; table tennis and snooker for a bit of fun too. Whilst visiting we rebooked for 2025 as we enjoyed our week so much. It was helped by very pleasant weather.

Great wee overnight stay so my daughter and I could go to Aberdeen Uni's open day. Handy location just off the motorway, and a short drive into Aberdeen centre. We ate dinner at the Indian Brasserie across the road, which was very nice, and the hotel breakfast was standard fare and a reasonable choice. Would recommend the hotel for a stay out with the hustle and bustle of the city- parking right outside the door, and a park and ride facility a short drive from the hotel. Staff were helpful and pleasant, too. Checking in was straightforward, and so was check out. Would return if I needed to visit Aberdeen in the future.

Their attention to detail, professionalism, and genuine care for our special day was unmatched. Every little detail, from the placement of decorations to the timing of events, was executed perfectly, making our day flow seamlessly. They truly went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding was the best day of our lives. The culinary team outdid themselves with an exquisite menu that catered to a variety of dietary preferences. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted as wonderful as it looked. Many of our guests commented that it was the best wedding food they had ever tasted. The accommodation at the Britannia Waterside Hotel was indeed very comfortable. The rooms were spacious, tastefully decorated, and offered stunning views of the waterside. Waking and having breakfast with the view of the river Ugie as a newly married couple was a delightful experience that added to the magic of our wedding. In conclusion, our experience at the Britannia Waterside Hotel was truly extraordinary. We owe a large part of our perfect wedding day to James Forbes and the fantastic staff. We highly recommend the Britannia Waterside Hotel to anyone planning their wedding. It's not just a venue, but a place where dreams are brought to life.

Absolutely love this hotel. Service was superb. Staff is really warm and friendly. Eateries are nearby. Love the room, it s clean and modern and quiet. The bed is super comfy. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed my 2 night stay and everything was excellent and good service from my host. Will be booking again in this hotel.

What a gem! Not a beachside but we didn't pay for that. Value for money was unbelievable! For what we paid and the location, we are totally smitten. Such an inviting and convivial host. The welcoming fare was astonishing. A fridge full of fresh fruit and other treats. [Even 2x mini bottles of wine as great stay bon homme.] Nadarra wine & food bar (less than a 5 min walk was an unexpected surprise. Just nothing but a great inspirational upgrade to our vision of what this coast was from our memories. 2024 ”Top Notch” stay over following nostalgia and family historic origins. Not to be missed! Wowee what a lovely place to stay. This is a charming hotel with plentiful of places to sit back in comfort and enjoy the peace and quiet. Caters for the slightly older guest though don't let this put you off. The staff minus one (rude and non people skilled Polish lady) are some of the best and are really down to earth and friendly. The room I had was immaculate and the bed very comfortable. Food is prepared by an amazing chef who goes far and beyond to bring you some lovely meals freshly prepared. This hotel is on the return list for the future

I spent 4 nights at Rooms at 31 whilst visiting family in the area. It is ideally situated within Stonehaven, a short walk to the seafront and a pleasant (but steep) walk to the war memorial and Dunottar Castle. Stonehaven itself has everything you might need for a short stay: places to eat, groceries etc. Rooms at 31 was clean and adequate for my needs. There were a few minor issues in the room which I have already contacted the owner about, but this did not adversely affect my stay. Breakfast is a self-serve affair with access to cereals, bread/toast, packaged morning goods, hot drinks and juice. The advantage of this set-up is that you can have breakfast at any time and it's not restricted to limited serving times as you would usually have in a B&B. It would have been useful to have had a mini fridge in the room, and access to a microwave, perhaps, for being able to heat food when eating out is not possible/desirable. It would also have been nice to feel that the breakfast room was usable outside of breakfast instead of feeling I needed to eat my takeaway in my room. Overall, I found the stay rather impersonal, not seeing anyone else for my entire stay, except for a very short encounter one morning in the breakfast room with whom I suspected may have been the owner. If I hadn't been visiting family, it would have been a rather lonely stay. This is not a fault, merely my preference. I can see how it would work well for businesses travellers or anyone who prefers the self-checkout in a supermarket and not dealing with other human beings!
