Nanzoin Temple & Reclining Buddha

Nanzoin Temple is home to one of the most breathtaking Buddha statues I’ve ever seen! The Reclining Buddha here is absolutely massive—over 41 meters long—and is said to be the largest bronze reclining Buddha in the world. The temple itself is located in a quiet, forested area outside of Fukuoka, making it feel like a peaceful retreat. Walking through the temple grounds, you’ll find beautiful statues, a small waterfall, and hidden paths leading to different shrines. The atmosphere is very serene, and it wasn’t crowded when I visited, making it even more special. The surrounding hills and nature make it a perfect place for a relaxing stroll. Getting here requires a short train ride and a bit of walking, but it’s absolutely worth it. If you’re looking for a spiritual and scenic experience near Fukuoka, Nanzoin Temple is a must-visit!
