Although the West Imperial Garden is not large, it is filled with the most laughter and joy of Puyi and Wanrong. This row of houses are all Chinese-style buildings, including the room of Puyi's father, Prince Chun Zaifeng. The first building is Zhixiu Pavilion, which has a dining room, entertainment room, private school, etc. It is a place where Puyi and his family (including his father and sisters) enjoyed family happiness, and also where Puyi stored his valuable belongings, gold, and silver. Behind it is the Palace Office, as the name suggests, it is the administrative office managing the imperial palace. It is large in scale, like a small yamen. There are gates on both sides. The gate leading to Xixi Building faces east, hence the name 'Yinghui Gate'. The other gate leads to the racecourse.
