Wat Phra That Doi Suthep Ratchaworawihan (Chiang Mai)

Wat Phra That Doi Suthep Ratchaworawihan is a second-class royal temple located on Siwichai Road, Suthep Subdistrict, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai Province. It is a very important temple in Chiang Mai and a significant tourist attraction and symbol of the province. It is also the temple for those born in the Year of the Goat. Wat Phra That Doi Suthep has a long history, starting from the enshrinement of the Buddha's relics on the mountain peak. Subsequently, a chedi was built to cover the relics, along with the construction of the ubosot (ordination hall) and the 300-step Naga staircase. A path to the temple was created by monks who were religious leaders, and the Fine Arts Department undertook major renovations and improvements to the chedi courtyard, which offers a beautiful view of Chiang Mai.
